Mild Steel and FCAW Welder - Ventilation and 2097 filters enough for PPE?
I will be welding mild steel and rebar primarily w/ a FCAW in my garage. I have a up to 3500 CFM floor fan I plan to put next to my table pulling away from my table and out the front of the garage. I read that flux core wire does okay with a breeze. I will also open a door at the back of my garage for air flow. I have a half face respirator with 2097 filters. This seems solid for PPE in my case and ventilation for hobby welding from reading in this sub reddit. I also read some folks dont run respirators as their ventilation carries it away?
Built a birdbath with a removable liner for ease of cleaning
I wanted a birdbath but they are $150-200 for concrete ones and figured I could save some money and it would be fun to learn how to cast one. The top bowl was spun on a platter. First one was really rough but happy with the 2nd go at it. I designed the pillar base cast in Fusion 360 after staring at pics online for inspiration.
Designed the bath around the plastic dish you see in the first image. It's a removable liner for ease of cleaning.
Seen both squirrels and birds out there enjoying it.
I have a drip line I need to plumb in eventually. I made a hole out the back so the tray can only fill so much then drain out the back.

Weatherproof/Corrosion resistant bearing for windmill yard art?
I have some hardware I'd like to incorporate into a windmill for a friend. This old hardware belonged to his late dad. I would like to weld this project together and have it spin on a bearing for ease of movement.
I am curious which sealed bearing type/material would stand up to rain over time and not rust? As a noob, this feels like it may be a tall order but figured I would ask here as others may have a solution for this?
Appreciate any guidance.
Titanium Welding Table - Cleaned up top - not getting cut anymore (PSA)
I purchased this table and the top CNC machining with no factory post work leaves the holes and edges of this surface sharp. I cut my hand taking it outta the box.
Wiped down the top thoroughly with paper towels to get the storage/shipment oil off it.
Used a stepped bit for about 2-3 seconds per hole with some medium pressure(just a bit more than the weight of the drill provides) to clean out the hole edge. Sanded the whole surface with a few pieces of 220 then to get any metal bits sticking up from the drilling and also sanded the side edges, top and bottom, and now I can run my hand across the top and edges without getting sliced. Gotta protect your money makers.
Safety - protecting others from welding flash from work in my garage
Do the fiberglass blankets break up the welding flash enough to protect folk's vision on the outside from damage from welding flash?
I picked up a flux welder to do some small project in my garage. I have good open space out there and a solid fan to move air through. I feel I am protected with the gloves, helmet, etc I have. However I want to protect my family and anyone walking by, if the garage is open enough, from the welding flash. Do these blankets work well enough to break up the light flashes so they are not harmful to them?
Thanks in advance.
PPB Plane - NASCAR flight pattern?
Reading older posts this has gone on for years. Any info on the why?

1/4" Irrigation Line Hardware

Needed some line management brackets and a few spikes. The lines press/snap into place. Way easier to print what I need vs buy a large box that will sit so I designed some. :)
I have a window AC( Frigidaire 6,000 BTU Model FHWC064TE1 ) I installed today in an upstairs bedroom and the compressor noise really carries in my backyard(and for my neighbors) which is otherwise really quiet. I am curious what I can do to quiet this noise? Anyone ever put up panels to the side of the AC unit (offset 10") to help contain / deflect the noise?
Also curious if any of the window ACs out there for a ~180sq ft room would have a more quiet pump? Do the dual inverter units have a more quiet pump system?
