I made a post a few weeks ago saying that i will draw the top comment's Pokemon and that I was gonna give it about 2-3 days to see the other comments. Well uh... two weeks later and there is only one comment. I was honestly expecting maybe 3 comments, but this is a small subreddit i definitely overshot the expectations. Despite the announcement I made regarding the increase in promotional posts, there are still plenty of people who have been creating promotional posts here. All the users either have an account that is less than a week old, a CQS score of "lowest", and/or a combined karma of less than 5. The repeated violations despite the mod announcement are getting ridiculous. This sub has a lot of freedom regarding post content. It is not hard to follow the four rules this subreddit has.

As for Rule 4, all violations will still result in a permanent ban. However, since no one knows how to contact us via mod mail regarding promotional posts, I have changed Rule 4. Rule 4 now reads:

No promotion or spam of any kind. Promotion includes advertising a business, a product, a social media account, a subreddit, a website, a Youtube channel, etc. Cross-posts/reposts of promotional material is not allowed. Only moderators are allowed to advertise or promote things such as a business, product, or other subreddit.

What this means is that promotional content can only be posted by a moderator. You can still reach out to the mod team regarding promotions, but you cannot post the content yourselves.

Most of the Rule 4 violations I have seen have been due to cross-posts/reposts. If even after this announcement that I see multiple Rule 4 violations, I will have to enforce the rules even further by banning cross-posts/reposts. If this were to happen, a post made in another community cannot be shared here. I do not want to be mean and take that ability away from you guys, ok? Just wanna make that clear. I don't want that. But if these violations keep happening, you can blame the idiots who did not read the rules.

So, I'm gonna do something stupid for fun. The one from last week got some attention, but it was solved pretty quickly. So, i made it harder. I know, i'm evil. I've created an automod rule that triggers when a certain word is said. The word is NOT:

• A swear word
• Anything inappropriate or NSFW
• Anything that breaks Reddit TOS

But I can give you a couple hints as to what this word is:

• It's one of the first things i do in the morning
• It is two words long
• It's a fairly common thing people do in the morning

Moderators are ineligible for this challenge.

Only one user will get the flair. The first comment that triggers the correct automod comment will be the winner and receive the flair.

The prize for finding the hidden word is a special flair assigned to you by the mod team. If you already have a flair, this flair will replace it unless otherwise specified by the user. To be eligible to win the contest, all comments for this challenge must be submitted under this post. Have fun y'all! :>

Ok, so, we're a subreddit that when it comes to rules, we're pretty chill. However, just because this sub is inactive doesn't mean that we as a mod team are. I've been noticing recently there's been an influx in promotional posts. Specifically ones that promote subreddits. The users who have been making these posts are either new accounts or users with low CQS and karma. So, I have to ask of you....

read the goddamn rules.

It's not that hard.

And if you are promoting ANYTHING, read rule 4 thoroughly. Any promotions must be approved by the mod team BEFORE they are posted.

And since you guys clearly didn't read rule 4, we will be much more strict about enforcing it.

ALL violations of rule 4 will result in a permanent ban.

Hopefully we will have less violations of rule 4 in the future, but for us to avoid posts like these, just read the rules.

Ok, so, here’s how this will work:

• Anyone except me can comment the name of any Pokemon. I will give this post about two or three days to get enough comments before I check them. The comment with the most upvotes will be the Pokemon I will draw. To make it fair, I will not upvote a single comment.
• Regarding my art, the drawing of the Pokemon will be digital (specifically in Clip Studio Paint). I will draw the Pokemon and a background I think suits it. To show proof that I drew it, I will try to upload a timelapse of my drawing process. If the timelapse doesn’t work, I will take a screenshot that shows the layers. I am heavily against AI and will not use AI to generate any part of my art or to “refine” it.
• If yall like me doing stuff like this, I will do it again in the future! I will make a post in 2-3 days letting everyone know what Pokemon has been chosen.

Hey everyone! Aspen from the mod team here. This sub is getting a lot more popular recently. We're almost at 60k members, which is awesome! Me and the other mods aren't able to always look after the sub 24/7, but we try our best to. Remember if you see anything that is unrelated to the 2010s, report it! We'll take a look at it and determine ourselves whether it breaks our sub's rule about that. Also wanna remind y'all to report any comments y'all see as rude or inappropriate. This sub is SFW, and we wanna make sure that it's enjoyed by everyone. So if someone is making you uncomfortable, trying to be a jerk, etc., just report them and we'll look at the comment.
