1st pic is him in some water to try to soak it off to see, 2nd pic is right after. Id imagine it's just substrate since he didn't have this 3 days ago let alone yesterday, but want to be sure. His feet also have that color in pics too which wasn't there before yesterday too.
I was watching him hop around then spotted the marks when he looked up which is what prompted me to check him. He still is energetic and eating no problem. Should he be fine or should I methalyne blue soak him and put him in a hospital tank to monitor it?
I ran low on dubias so was looking for pet stores I can grab waxworms and crickets from this week for my fowler toad. I've heard of chain pet stores crickets being 50/50 on safe to use due to parasites and such, so didn't wanna risk it. I'll be in the Lakewood area this week and major league was one of the close ones there, as I have no pet stores close to my actual area so have limited options till I order dubias again later in week which will take an additional week to arrive.
Has anyone bought crickets from them before and know if they're safe to use as feeders? There's also a pet supplies plus, Petco, and PetSmart not far from there as well but out of these 3 and major league, I'm not sure which one is the better bet for small crickets and waxworms, with less risk of parasites or something.
Saw lots of info online but had some questions.
what is the best source to get one in the US, to avoid risk of wild caught? And is one okay to start or do I need 2?
i know they need a 30+gal vertical tank, but is there a best specific tank I should go for (like quality and top vs front opening or brand) , and what size would be the best for 1 or potentially 2 if friends are needed.
what's the best substrate and plants for a bioactive tank for this species? (Also what climbing things are suitable for them or are stuff like reptile little ladder things safe too?)
How soon before buying the frog should I do the tank set up to ensure plants/clean up crew is ready?
is there a best heat/light/humidity product choice for this species, and a specific method to do it correctly?
Any other important info I should know beforehand that I might not think to look up?
Not in recovery and no interest in it either, I am however in a quasi recovery type of deal. I only occasionally check weight to see if I'm maintaining below >!110-115lb!< And am 5'6 . Beyond that I'm not focusing on weight loss currently, not counting calories, and am eating pretty normal.
I've been in this quasi recovery for almost a year now this time around, and have been successfully maintaining the >!100-109lb!< Range. What I don't understand though is during my forced recovery times years ago and some time after, I was eating "healthy/normal" amounts. I went up to >!130lb!< During that time and hated how my body looked completely. Me actually eating when I'm hungry without overthinking it, I manage to maintain below the bmi assigned healthy weight range. I can eat a whole lot including caloric foods/drinks and no issue maintaining as its not me binging but just eating actually normal.
I'm super sedentary too so it's not like I'm burning off everything or something, nor am I eating super low calorie limits, if anything id estimate to be likely a bit above maintenance or even higher depending on food that day. I'm not complaining about maintaining since current weight/body is the highest look-wise I'm happy with, but I also don't understand how me eating normal of what I want when I want without worry, isnt making my weight shoot up yet back when I was still larping recovery and eating what I was told was normal amounts that I should stick to it went shooting up. Is it possible to maintain a lower weight healthily without forcing gaining and that's why my body sits at this lower one without me doing anything?
Haven't worn a regular bra in a few years, I've been sticking with bralettes and sports bras since sizing was much easier/very comfortable (size small in them for the most part). I only learned at around 20/21 (24 now) that a proper fit bra shouldn't have a massive boob gap of empty space. My mom and I were always under the impression my size was a 34B or 36B, and that I just had to adjust the straps to try to lessen the boob gap.
I want to get a properly fit bra and I just measured my chest and my measurements was a 30in bust 28in band/ribcage below bust (without bra used during measurement, as I wasnt sure if itd impact accuracy). When I looked it up it said I'd be either a 28B or a 30A , but what would be the best choice between the 2? I've never had a proper fit regular bra so I don't know what is better, and if I also wanted push up bras alongside regular , would the size have to be different?
Any size tips are helpful to finally get a first ever proper fit bra, I'd love to be able to have some real ones after all these years
Was outside in the yard with my dogs and we heard flapping sounds like crazy. Eventually we found this guy stuck on the ground sideways flapping but unable to get up. We took it in to try to help it thinking it was a dragonfly, till it bit me and upon looking it up after that we learned it's an owlfly.
It can walk perfectly fine but if it trys to fly it'll either not get lift or If it does get lift it'll end up getting stuck until you help it upright a few times due to its wings getting stuck like pic 1, but even more straight down where it cant stand without careful help. It has no chance to survive outside with how it is now, is there anything I can do to help it?
Its a predatory species so it hunts, I was thinking about trying to give it a dubia roach Incase it's hungry but idk don't wanna stress it more
Sorry if it isn't that clear, struggling to word everything thoroughly in a way that makes sense
EDIT; so from what I see online the larva can eat dubias, the adults can't eat hard shelled bugs however. So gonna have to try and figure out a small soft bug that will be easy to catch since this guy can't naturally hunt due to its wings. I swapped him into a clean 5gal tank instead so it's neater with space. Its a mix of dirt, and paper towel sections for grip, rocks, sticks, and some leaf bits. Still have to help it upright a lot when it tries flying but it's settled on a paper towel chunk calm in the dark now. I'm just glad the poor things calming down now
Reposting since I used the uncropped ones on accident
I've never understood it, like I know how obvi as plenty of people just wanna enjoy sex no strings attached but I at the same time don't understand the "how".

For me? I can't have sex with someone without also crushing on them. Only ever hooked up once as a FWB and that's because I had romantic interest too, and even that ended up a short relationship due to mutual interest. Without the romantic interest in someone, the most ill think is "they're hot" but anything beyond that's nonexistent unless I want a relationship w them. Lowkey annoying cause even if I wanted to do actual hookups I couldn't as I wouldn't be sexually interested. So I just don't get how people easily have hookups with no romantic desire or crush. It seems so awkward to imagine that type of situation, let alone do it
I highly doubt it's bloat since he's not lethargic, and he still loves to eat, follow, soak, and explore, and he isn't as "blown up" like pics I've seen. But his wideness esp in the angle of pics 4, 6, and 9 has me overthinking so wanted to double check it's not bloat (and that I'm not making him obese either).

I give him 3-6 (sometimes 8 but usually 3-6 range) dubia roaches a day, where half get dusted with the repashy calcium plus. Is that too much food/too often? Also if any of y'all are able to tell from the pics if burgers male or female, lmk cause I've been saying 'he' but def curious if he is a he. Hasn't chirped yet from what I can tell but idk if that's due to age specifically.

Ps - while taking those pics he was trying to check out the phone and eat his own reflection when he'd move😩
My scene hairs overgrown like crazy, still got a good amount of layers thankfully but the bangs/fringe are much more grown out. Not going to the salon for awhile so wanted to know if anyone has advice and tips for ideas of bangs I can change the fringe into that'd look nice and without cutting it.

I know little on hair so most I've done is straighten sometimes, and my hairs usually in a ponytail since I hate how my hair looks down while the bang/fringe is outgrown. If anyone has bang ideas that'd suit me without cutting the fringe plz lmk. I once had curtain bangs in the past that looked cute but only really if styled (when I didnt heat them in the wrong direction), but beyond that I have no clue what would suit my face
I don't mind subtitles and watch stuff w em plenty, my mom however won't watch anything without English dub as she can't focus on a movie if it's via sub and has trouble keeping up with subtitles. I was going to have her watch infested 2023, but seems there's no English dub on shudder so unless there is an English dub one I haven't found then that's not gonna work. So if anyone has any good horror movie ideas that do have English/dub lmk, bonus if it's bug/spider related
Made a post yesterday with some ideas for a first bioactive set up for my fowler toad, decided to switch a few things (Riare pet brand clay pebbles for drainage layer instead of a regular plant brand, joshs frogs abg mix that ill mix with my coconut fiber instead of doing reptisoil + coco, and button fern instead of boston fern). Got a few other things saved too alongside these switches, but i'm at a loss on knowing the best way to get springtails. I was gonna get everything besides the plants on amazon, but joshs frogs brands springtails have some reviews about mites/dead springtails so im hesitant on spending $20 on an 8oz container for something that might have dead springtails/mites.
Is there a better source for springtails ya'll usually go for? And is $20 for 8oz cup normal or higher than average?
'yes?' is for what im leaning towards but wanting input on if theyre good choices. 'maybe' is what im unsure of (spagmoss i saw you mix into the substrate to make it better for plants, but also know spagmoss is a compaction risk so idk), boston fern seems safe from what i can find and decently hardy with my lack of green thumb but not 100% if thats a good pick (goal is a hardy low light requiring plant i can't easily kill). 'and' is wanting to know which clean up guys are better or if theyre different enough to where both is best (also if yall know best source for either lmk).
Tanks a 20gal, want to make his home bioactive so its more natural and just generally better for him. worst case scenario i'd just get 2 pothos if i cant get that specific fern (or if yall know another good plant as i'm worried bout accidently picking something toxic to burger or a plant that needs a green thumb i do not have)., but would the reptisoil + coconut fiber be a good mixture for the plants to grow or should i add the spagmoss (or orchard bark i saw online for it too but idk enough on it) or something else? The indian almond leaves in pic i currently have for my leech and also used a few for my toad before and went fine. I have the coconut fiber and indian almond leaves already, everything else is stuff i'd be buying (or swapping around before buying, if any changes should be made from my examples in the pics). Also the sizes of some of these things arent what i'd get, I'd be getting more than the small bags in the pics. If anything should be changed/better recommendations lmk
edit; already have plenty of hides/water dishes for burger, but will also grab cork bark if i can find a nice middle ground size
Finally decided to give bioactive a go. Plans to get some pothos and hopefully find another low level/indirect sunlight type of hardy plant. Will be looking for spring tails and isopods as clean up crew (idk which is better). But what soil(?) can I mix with coconut fiber substrate that's safe for fowler toads but will give nutrients for the plants n clean up crew to live
Edit: already found some clay pebbles/drainage mesh too so that's handled
Mole crickets are one of those guys that you have to catch yourself, and are just beautifully weird guys. We have northern mole crickets native to our area (pine barrens). They're not ones to come out during the day really so it's hard to capture them. Has anyone here ever had luck catching one before, and does anyone know if our soil is okay to use as substrate for it?. If anyone has ever successfully trapped one lmk.
I'd assume our soil would be fine as there's no pesticides or anything and they're native to our type of soil so that's what id be getting them from anyways,, but wanted to see what y'all think. Also what is a good gal tank for them (like 1-2 max mole crickets *if* I even successfully catch em once I have a set up for it)? There's not much info online on em so it's a bit confusing to know what's best.
I applied to a job at a nearby virtua health location, no clue if I'd be hired but want to get ahead of the game regarding dress code in case I get a call. The position would revolve around cleaning mainly. I know the basic dress codes being clean, neat, professional, little to no nail work and short nails, etc. But I can't find anything online regarding hair rules. I have unnatural hair color (bright pink), 2 tattoos (jack skellington on upper thigh and cat paw print on inner mid forearm/wrist area), and simple snakebites piercings on bottom lip (the ball kind, not rings).
I'm struggling to find info regarding dress code for these 3 specific things. If anyone has worked here before, do you know if dyed hair is allowed typically or if I'd need a natural color wig. Same thing on if my snakebites or my paw print forearm tattoo would be an issue, I'd assume the thigh jack tattoo is fine since that wouldn't be seen. Beyond that for this type of job/location since it's a hospital, is there a different expectation for an interview outfit compared to other jobs? And if anyone has worked here before, is there anything I should know to prepare beforehand incase I get an interview?
The pics are some of the not as bad drawing attempts from back then. They're a mix of copied and solo for ref.
I've always loved the idea of drawing and always had visions in my head that I'd like to create but my perfectionist side would always lead me to give up because it wouldn't come out nice. Back when I was drawing yearsss ago it was mostly via those anime art tut books back in earlyish 2010s. I could copy an image from the books good enough (generally), but often struggled to actually *create* solo. Eventually I just gave up because whether copying or trying solo i didn't get any better and would just get frustrated so I lost the enjoyment.
Ive been contemplating trying to draw again but now it's even more awkward because I'm now 24 and since I gave up years ago, if I draw it'd likely look like something a 10yr old made which is embarrassing to think about. Id like to attempt drawing one of my furry OCs that I've had in my head for years but soo hesitant since if I could juuust barely copy simple anime pics from books/Google, and barely even make a normal body (let alone hands as y'all can see lol) then how can I even fathom drawing my OC from my head only, without it looking a mess n giving up all over again y'know? How do you guys get past the perfectionism/frustration in order to actually try drawing again? I need all the advice and motivation I can get😩
I know absolutely nothing about skincare so some ref pics of my face in diff lighting n stuff, Incase it'll help figure out ideas of what would work best. Also from the US Incase that helps with ideas.
I'm 24 and wanna try to find (realistically affordable, not the stuff that doesn't do anything even with high cost lol) skincare stuff that'll I guess generally make my face better? I'd love a product that does the anti aging stuff even slightly (ik anti aging isn't truly a thing but like the stuff that helps lessen the look). Nowadays I use correcting makeup too (color corrector and concealer to help my bags n such) , but I also just hate knowing I don't look super young anymore.
I have never done any skincare besides those cheap face masks occasionally when I was like 14, or stridex acne wipes whenever I have acne come back. So I have no clue what's a good product, what I should aim for, or what actually works, etc. so if anyone has any ideas that can help with maintaining youthful face and generally nicer skin, please lmk!
