Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi,

I read this ages ago (most likely on Ashwinder but I’m no longer able to access my account).
I think it’s a stand alone but what I’m remembering could also be like an epilogue or short sequel;

Severus and Hermione have a teenage son, they find some anti muggleborn magazine in his room and Severus goes nuts. They do later have a more reasoned discussion I think.

I know that’s so little to go off but if anyone has any ideas, or recs for something similar that would be wonderful, it’s been nagging in the back of my brain for ages.

Thanks!

How did people pay for it - a loan?

Did anyone get a loan to go towards/cover the cost?
Is this a daft idea? I’m not talking anything massive, 5k or 10k and we can afford the repayments spread over several years (no concerns about mortgage stress tests etc as we’re not moving again).
Just wondering if it’s common to do as no one seems to talk about it? Or everyone else I know said they used inheritance.

Thanks ☺️

Dearly beloathed books - any similar SS/HG fics?

Hi all!

I’m hoping for some recommendations that are similar to the Dearly Beloathed duo by brigette knightley (her fan fic was Draco Malloy and the mortifying ordeal of being in love and was the starting point for her recently published novels).

It’s more a similar tone im after, it’s a bit hard to describe but certainly funny, witty and whimsical, there’s some big dramatic moments too and a fair bit of spice/romance. Also very much he fall first and falls hard.

Anything that might fit the bill but for our favourite couple would be wonderful 😊

Rainbows?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone would recommend rainbows for a 4 year old girl who can be a bit shy? They’ve also asked if I’d volunteer and would like to know peoples experiences from that point of view too?

Thanks ☺️

Any tips for not spiralling/building resilience?

As the title says, any tips for not spiralling when something happens and letting it derail your whole day/week? Anything you’ve done that builds resilience and self esteem?

So my partner received a parking ticket and it’s saying our address isn’t correct.

I know it’s not the end of the world, he pays the fine, updates the address and that should then be fine (according to my extensive googling anyway).

But it’s totally ruined my day, I can’t think about anything else, worst case scenarios, I’m really angry at him too.

And I think it’s almost like a hyper focus but I do this with any little set back.

And then I see others just going about their life relaxed, nothing seems to phase them) and I don’t know how to be more like that move on quickly from these types of things.
How do you do it?

How to help my child navigate an unkind friend?

How to navigate girls being mean?

My daughter is only 4 so I’m not hugely concerned at the moment and I know it’s normal for a bit of this in friendship groups but I’m not sure how to help her navigate this one?
There’s a group of 4 of them that are a little girl gang but one girl, C, apparently often tells me daughter she’s not allowed to play with them, not coming to my party etc etc

There’s no pushing or hitting just leaving her out one minute then being friends the next.

My daughter is upset by it but, apart from telling her that we don’t play with people who aren’t kind to us I don’t know what else to say?

Any advice would be wonderful as I’d like to teach my daughter how to stick up for herself in this situation as it’s less clear cut than if it weren’t a friend.

Custom content and mods, where to start?

I’ve played for years but think I’d like to change up my gameplay and make it more exciting but I’m hopeless with computers and really don’t know where to start even looking for good custom content and mods? Any advice?

Id like the cc to still look like it’s in the style of the game if that makes sense?

Thanks ☺️

Oh and I’ve got the legacy collection on steam if that makes a difference

How old are most of us here?

Just wondering as I feel a lot of what I read here are from younger only children, late teens/early twenties maybe and I think that’s a different view point on being an only child by the time you’re in your 30s to 40s. It would also be really interesting to hear from those older too.

Family holidays?

What’s everyone doing on family holidays?
We’re at an all inclusive in Spain at the minute; myself, partner and 4 year old daughter.

The hotel is great for the kids and she’s fine at this age mostly, though is already a bit bored with just us two.
I’m an only child myself and these all inclusive pool holidays were what we did (and I was bored, not that that’s the worst thing in the world at all)

Any other types of holidays you could recommend where she’d not be as bored? Especially as she gets older. I was thinking some city breaks but again cost is a factor.

We’re in England and don’t have a huge budget. Also I’m totally vetoing skiing because it looks awful

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Hi all!

I’m wanting to up my gameplay a bit but can’t decide what to do with Brandi?

She’s just had her 4th baby after a fling with Don Lothario. I gave her romance as her secondary aspiration. Dustin is now off at college and Beau is a teenager, David (the preset pregnancy) is a child and she has baby Carter with Don as the baby daddy.

So, any suggestions what to do next with her?

I’ve a four year old daughter and am just a bit unsure if I should be concerned or if this is normal?

She’s got two friends at nursery but one that she likes to play with especially. But my daughter can be pretty intense with this friendship.

She has also said these two girls often aren’t nice to her, nothing physical or awful but like leaving her out or not wanting to play certain games, a few unkind comments or running away from her.

We’ve tried encouraging her to play with other kids and practicing scripts for when they don’t want to play but she’s not taking these onboard

What else should we do? If anything? I’ve asked nursery but they says they’ve not noticed anything.

Any advice/experiences would be great to hear

For context she can be quite an intense kid, we do have meltdowns still if she doesn’t get her own way at home but at nursery she sounds like different child and they said they play lovely together (my daughter goes two days a week)

I’ve recently become a pcs rep, done my training and am due to take on cases soon.

I was wondering, in general, what have people found good/helpful about their rep and also not so good?

General approach, knowledge, whatever really.

Any advice welcome! 😊
