Terror! The Horror Comics Genius of Joan Boix

I don't know how I slept on this guy's work for so long. Amazing stuff! If youre a fan of the classic Creepy and Eerie mags, definitely check this book out.

Here's a rare one for you guys... Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo #1, Caliber, 1992

This was going to be a 3 issue series based off the movie of the same name, but it only saw the first issue being printed. This is a RARE horror comic. I picked up this issue last week and it was the first time I've seen it in person. It's up on ebay every once in awhile but usually listed for $100 plus.

2001 promo poster for Iowa.

I found this in a storage locker that belongs to a friend of mine. I'm helping him clean it out and we came across this. He's older and not into heavier music so he gave it to me. It's pretty much the same size as a vinyl. I think this may have been a promo poster for a music store. I worked at a sam goody in the early 2000s and we would get promos like this that would slide into a marquee type of deal to promote new albums coming out. I have not been able to find anything online like this though. Anyone else have one of these/ have any more info or maybe a value estimate? Thanks.

Picked these books up for $5 each today.

Spider-Man: The Venom Factor by Diane Duane 1995

Spider-Man: Venom's Wrath by Keith Decandido 1998

Spider-Man: Carnage in New York by David Michelinie 1998

I loved these Marvel novels when I was a kid. I had quite a few but never got my hands on Venom's Wrath or Carnage in New York. I'm excited to finally read them!

I picked up this cd blindly at Hot Topic back in 2004 only because it was mispriced at 99 cents. Ended up being one of my favorite albums for a long time. Had it in constant rotation.

A couple days ago I posted about hearing a breathy, airy male singer in the grocery store in the early 90s. It was Aaron Neville. I even replied to a suggestion of Aaron Neville that that was the closest it sounded like to what i was looking for. All the while it was him! I think the issue i was having was when I googled him it talked about a hit he had in the 60s so I thought he was an older singer. Also the song i was looking for eas not on his spotify page. The song i was remembering was Don't Know Much by Linda Ronstadt ft. Aaron Neville. It took me having to watch 90s love cd compilations on YouTube to find the song.

Thanks again everyone for your help and suggestions. I did hear a lot of great songs i hadn't heard in a long time so it was a fun trip down memory lane.

This is a TOUGH card. This is the first one I've come across in person out in the wild. And the best part about it, I got it for free! I've been helping a friend move some stuff out of storage and he spent a lot of time at conventions when he was younger. He picked up EVERYTHING that was a giveaway. He had a few of these so he gave me one.

Got a few classics in the mail this past week.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You: Nuclear, Sad, Nuclear (Opaque cream mix)

Darkest Hour: Undoing Ruin (Bone, gold, apple, lmtd. to 250)

Avenged Sevenfold: Nightmare (Purple)

Each of these albums were in heavy rotation when they first came out so I'm really excited to add them all to my collection.

I missed out on the Nuclear, Sad, Nuclear repress when it first released, sold out before I could get a pre-order in, but when Veeps had pre-orders open for Undoing Ruin I checked their stock to see what they had and they had it! My #12 discography is now complete.

I apologize in advance that this is going to be so vague but I have memories of being a child in grocery stores with my dad and there was always an artist they would play and I can never find them so I thought I'd try here. The best way to describe it is it would probably be considered soft rock (that might even be a stretch), and he had a higher, airy voice. I always have people suggest Christopher Cross but I'm petty sure that's not who I'm looking for even though it's similar. Anyone want to take s shot in the dark at this one? Thanks!

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions so far but still haven't found what I'm looking for (no it wasn't U2). Im also keeping up with a newborn along with this post so sorry if I fall out and can't answer for awhile. I've apparently made someone real upset by not including my country but he was correct, I'm in America. Lol This also took place in the early 90s , probably between 1992-1995. So far aaron Neville has been the closest with his quick, breathy singing style he has in some of his songs (not sure what that style/technique is called)

Edit 2: listening to Aaron Neville brought back more of the sound of the voice to me. Big emphasis on the quick, breathy singing style, almost comical sounding to me when I was younger hearing it. It was a higher pitched voice too. I would hear these songs being played in a save mart or Albertsons in central California. I'm listening to all the suggestions, still no luck but I'm hearing some good stuff i haven't heard in a long time. Thanks again for all the suggestions so far.

Edit 3: im trying to update with anymore details that come to mind. I don't know what years this guy was actively producing music, just that it was being played in the early 90s in grocery stores, but it definitely had a late 80s/ early 90s sound to it.

Edit 4: dang this post got a lot of replies. I've got alot of suggestions to listen to tonight. I'm sorry but i can't reply to each one but I see you all and appreciate all of your suggestions to help me find this singer. I will post an update if I ever find them.
