We had a lot to discuss plus a transfer of the kid for the week. I regrettably offered to go meet at a lunch place to hash out details of the upcoming school year.

Where it helped, we can be civil if we need to both meet in person for whatever reason. But it had me look at my ex from a new light. She was not someone I currently would want to date which made me feel like I have grown up. ie, Heavy on expensive jewelry, bragging about expensive trips and business class level on the plane (not my cup of tea, as they say). Too many chaotic lifestyle choices. Overall, it sounds expensive, but I'm glad I'm not picking up the bill!

Where it didn't help, she ordered expensive drinks at lunch and expected me to split the bill. Ugh, lessons learned.

But (other than my wallet) I'm glad I did this once to help me understand I have grown up and moved on. If I met her in OLD, there would not have been a second date.

I saw a couple DIYs with a lawn chair, ZIP ties, and some kind of metal footrest.

Anyone have all the materials (links) so I can order everything off Amazon to make this simple?

I met this woman IRL 3+ months ago and we are hitting it off beautifully (I know, honeymoon phase). I'm older by a decade but she acts more mature (go figure -check out my username).

We do not have a lot of the same things we like to do in common but we love learning about the other person's favorite things. You both have the qualities that we want that are important in building a relationship: trust, respect, communication, chemistry, & quality time. We are open to just spending time near one another (meeting up about 2-3 days out of the week).

My question: Is it okay if the new-ish person you are dating 'leans into the relationship' and asks about plans for the future at this point? Not making financial changes or anything drastic, but just starting to plan how life will be together some years down the road. I have a kid and she doesn't want any...so that's worked out.

I brought this up and she kind of said: "Let's see where we end up, I don't like planning for relationship goals because it'll just make me feel like we are on a schedule. I want to go with the flow. But understand, I'm not going anywhere."

I'm kind of a planner. But my guy tells me not to push this subject.

Anyone know how to get the settings back to the way before?

I was playing Crimson Desert on my PC and saw my cloud save synced 100% in Steam before turning the PC off.

I go on vacation, boot up Ally X, and the Steam cloud says there is a more up to date save on my PC. How did it know that and why didn't it sync to Steam? How long am I supposed to wait after steam says it is synced to the cloud save before turning my PC off?

I've been on over a dozen dates with this woman and we have become exclusive. We check a lot of boxes on wanting the same goals in a relationship, plus we are very compatible physically and mentally (we balance each other out). We always have a fun time together.

But we lack having any hobbies that we can do together. Total opposites in this area.

Has anyone found a way to build new hobbies together and what were they?

UPDATE: Trying to find a hobby we could both can either discover or at least enjoy together.

She like reading books I like playing video games

She's a homebody I'm an explorer

She like murder mysteries I like sci-fi/fantasy

But we really like each other and just looking for advice.

Work has given me the green light to buy an Android tablet. But I already use the ASUS Ally X for my mobile PC gaming.

I was hoping to use the Android tablet as a larger screen for my Ally X when traveling for work.

Does anyone have recommendations for an Android tablet that doubles as a high-end mobile OLED screen with a decent battery life for gaming via the USBc connection?

Update: This is for use on an airplane and traveling. Aiming for a 14" sized screen. Mainly for playing single player games, Crimson Desert for example.

Gilligan's Bar was the best fix for a beach without paying to be there, other than buying beers/food (which I had no problems doing).

What would be a good alternative now that Gilligan's Bar is no more (sadly)?

For a year and a half (eighteen months of my life) I’ve been sitting here squinting at my monitor like a Victorian child, wondering why my "beast" of a PC looked like it was running on a prayer and a hamster wheel. I’ve been out here struggling with an HDMI cable, convinced that 99 Hz was the peak from my old rig.

I finally did a "diagnosis" because my games looked like finger paintings. That’s when I discovered the DisplayPort. I plugged it in, hit 175 Hz, and realized I’ve been playing in slow motion since 2024.

I don't just feel stupid; I feel like I bought a Ferrari and spent two years driving it in school zones. 😞🤡

Meeting someone IRL as a 47M has not been great in Old Town VA. Most women I see are already in a relationship and usually on a date in this romantic part of Virginia.

Where does one go to meet single women in this small part of town?

Do I have to go back to OLD? Please .... anything but that. 😩
