Hello! So I have a small machine company who focuses on fiberglass and molding. We stamp out every part with this machine but i feel there has to be a better way because we are constantly up keeping it.
The machine is an old stamp press, still works fine but it's more the actual stamp that I'm having issues with. The stamp is made with steel rule that's replaced when it dulls or chips. The base is a polyurethane blend I think? The person who made them passed away sadly so I'm not quite sure.
The problem I'm having is the stamp either doesn't cut through the fiberglass all the way (it's a continuous strand cut and baked into sheets) or the base gets so blown out and deteriorated that the pieces get stuck in the crevices and I have to mill down the base repeatedly.
Is there a better way to do all this? A better material to use? I inherited this business and am trying my best to modernize it, so I'm open to all ideas that won't take a long time to adapt. Thanks so much for your time!
Hi everyone so I found cheap flights from Warsaw to Milan and have a couple spare days to kill. We get in Sep 16 and leave very early on the 19th. My plan is to land in Milan Melpensa and take a train somewhere, stay two nights, and then head back on the 18th since my flight is at 7am. We'll just be getting back from a week in Greece with like 8 of our friends so I'm looking to mellow out and get some alone time with my girlfriend before heading home. Let me start by saying this is just my opinion and if you're still enjoying the brand I'm not trying to offend you. Looking at the new website and season lookbook I think I've held out long enough though and wanted to rant and warn new buyers a bit.
Bro this cotton/polyester is terrible compared to the old 100 percent cotton. No longer do we get the durable terry inside but just a thin excuse for a sweatshirt THEY CHARGE EVEN MORE NOW. I also don't know what's going on with their screen printing but I collect the celebrity shirts and the Ace Ventura is so over saturated and flimsy I've never even worn it. Look at the qc posts just from this year alone if you need more examples.
The new boxy look with the outrageously wide sleeves and short body length is just fucking impractical, no joke the bicep area is wider than some of my jeans. Unless you're standing all posed like they do in the lookbook chances are it's gonna look bad. My last purchase was the second drop after the switch (p-3 hood) and my heart sank when I put it on. (184ish dollars shipped by the way).
I think this one is the most apparent to everyone who's been into palace even the last two years. It is all just regurgitated loud designs and corny shit and I thought they were just trying to be ironic at first but now I'm not so sure.
So maybe I'm just getting too old (started skating when I was 12 now I'm 34) but it sucks to see. It's also annoying to see them invest in opening up shops all over the world while their quality is exponentially suffering. If someone asked me if I recommend buying ANYTHING from palace now I can say with 100 percent certainty that the answer is NO.
