We're in the process of migrating our timeseries database from influxdb to victoria metrics.
In the process of doing that we're introducing the otel collector in our infrastructure.
Currently we have the telegraf agent sending metrics directly to influxdb, some plugins send string fields that are stored by influxdb which accepts to store strings for fields.
Our problem is that victoria metrics doesn't store strings as fields and we can't put them as tags that would explode the cardinality of the database, and that wouldn't be clean.
Sure we can send those strings fields directly to elasticsearch with the telegraf processor, or we can send them to open telemetry as "logs" and then route them to elasticsearch, we've done both and it works.
The issue is the correlation ( in grafana ) with those strings "metrics" and the other numerical fields, as we don't have an uuid ( generating one would explode our cardinality too ).
It's a common issue to have a mix of strings/numerical as metrics before the standardization I guess and I'm curious to how people solved this with prometheus like databases.
Also we had to make a little bit of c program to send the strings metrics to the log endpoint of otel via telegraf ( the otlp output only support numerical ). We didn't find some way to send strings and numerical to otel and then have otel do the routing by type, if it's string send it to elastic else to victoria metrics, is it possible ?

I'd go full barefoot but the forest nearby is full of chestnut burrs,
a friend came to walk with me and even with a five finger kind of shoes ( maybe had not the best soles ) he had a really painful experience.
I'm looking for the most minimalist shoewear, easy to put off / on. a tough barefoot sock would do the job and it's quite durable I think. Sandals would not protect enough for chestnut burrs.
Any brand/model you could recommend ?

I find the seats really being too soft for long travels,
what would be the best way to proceed ? Could I switch the seats with a clio/megane ( which models would be compatible ?)
Switch the rubber inside the seats going to a professional.
finding a coverseat that would make them firmer
Some kind of orthopedic cushion that would prevent me sinking into the seat and hurting my back ?

Après recherche et pour mon budget ( 13k max idéalement 10k max )
j'hésite principalement ( avec les offres dispos ) entre :
Fiat Doblo Trekking 1.6 120cv Multijet ( 2016 / 142000km 9300 euro )
( mon appréhension sur le doblo c'est la consommation mais je suis un petit rouleur du coup.. )
Dacia Lodgy Hdi 1.5L Dci 115 cv ( 11 500 à 13 000 euros 85k km 97k km, modèles 2016 2017)
VW caddy 7 places ( mais je trouve rien qui ait moins de 10 ans dans mon budget, tout est kilométré aussi, c'est sûrement de la mécanique robuste mais je sais pas où placer ma limite et je trouve pas de 140cv dans mon budget.. )
Kangoo 7 places un peu chère..
Si j'avais plus de temps pour chercher ça serait plus simple mais je vends mon véhicule dans une semaine et les locations sont hors de prix..

Pourriez vous m'aider à trouver une voiture ou fourgonnette qui remplisse cet utilisation :
Budget 10k environ, occasion ( neuf j'y crois pas :) )
- petit rouleur : je fais deux trajet de 15km, plus deux de 10km maxi par semaine, plus des extras plus longs mais occasionnels
- je vis en moyenne montagne, ça grimpe un peu
- j'ai une maison avec des travaux en cours, transporter du matériel est important ( j'achèterai une remorque aussi )
- pouvoir dormir dans la voiture ( pouvoir retirer les sièges arrières ? , un plancher relativement plat , je ferai un aménagement sommaire type plateau pour mettre un matelas dessus et le bordel en dessous )
- la possibilité de faire 'facilement' de la mécanique dessus, j'aime bien faire la maintenance moi même et les petites réparations, si y'a des modèles qui s'y prêtent mieux
- pouvoir être à 5 dans la voiture avec un confort correct.
- passer occasionnellement sur les chemins de montagne qui sont bien défoncés sans avoir peur de tout déposer :)
Et si c'est une voiture que je peux garder longtemps jusqu'à sa belle mort c''est top :-)

La cloison de gauche sur la photo donne sur les combles du voisin, j'ai environ 6m linéaire sur 3m de haut, j'aimerais bien isoler pour garder la chaleur et aussi un peu phoniquement ( vmc du voisin derrière ), la partie est pierre de la photo a été plaqué déjà.
ce sont des combles que je souhaite aménager ( chambre ami, plus rangement )
Quel isolant utiliseriez vous ? et placo ou bien ..
