Reckless Cop Strikes Cyclist After Running Red Light In An Unmarked Car
nyc.streetsblog.orgPeople-First Streets Will Pave The Way For The Best Version Of Downtown Brooklyn: Report
nyc.streetsblog.orgWhy not allow New York City Council / Borough President staff to write tickets?
It seems to me that our councilmen and councilwomen (along with borough presidents) are fighting the good fight for traffic enforcement in our neighborhoods but the NYPD gets in the way of any meaningful change.
Why can't we enable staff of these offices to write tickets? It's not like it lies in the hands of the NYPD solely -- DSNY, DOT, TLC, Parks and Rec, NYCHA, etc. can all write tickets.
I'm in Lincoln Restler's district, and I know that he and his staff have been monitoring illegal parking in Downtown Brooklyn for months. Instead of writing reports, why can't we enable them to just write tickets. A monthly ticketing (and towing) blitz would do more to help our neighborhoods much more than any well-prepared report.
Best taglieri in town?
Who has the best taglieri in town, preferably one with great local items. Is Tamburini still the best, or is it Simoni? Looking for a great way to snack my way through the various meats in town.

Does anyone know what time the tickets for the following day become available? The way I'd interpreted it was that 6/16 would become available today (6/15) at 12 pm, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
FanDuel new "Bet $5 for 7 Days and Get $350 in Bonus Bets Guaranteed" promo busted?
Is this working for anyone? I've been placing daily $5 (or more) bets since June 6 and I have yet to be credited the daily $50 bonus bets.
I keep getting the response that they're aware of the problem and are working for a fix. Do you need to place all 7 bets first? I ask because the first person I spoke to at FD said it would be credited after the bet was placed, and the next person said it would be credited after the bet closed. Neither has happened. I've reached out daily and the response is more or less "We're aware of the issue and are working on it."
Where are we watching Curaçao World Cup games?
As far as I know there's no Curaçaoan establishments in the city. Heck, are there even any Dutch ones?
But does anyone know of any places to watch the Blue Wave with other Curaçaoan supporters?

crainsnewyork.comGood base (or bases) for 2 weeks in Calabria?
I find myself booking a last minute trip to Calabria. We will be there for the last two weeks of July.
What would be a good car-free base (or bases) to experience the best of Calabria?
The caveat: Ideally we'd be within an hour or two of Tropea, as our son will be attending a camp there.
Looking for something that's a decent size but not too busy. We're familiar with Sicily, so for instance we like Siracusa but find Taormina to be too much. Ragusa is a nice size, but Modica is too small.
Also, are we being silly limiting ourselves to just trains? I know that's not a problem in the north, but in the south (such as our experience in Sicily) it really does make sense to have a car. It's just the added hassle and expense.

Help with connecting Nexilux GameCube Controller Adapter to Switch
We just got a Nintendo GameCube Controller and a Nexilux NXL-W01 adapter to connect it to the Switch. However, the controller isn't recognized by the Switch in any manner.
I looked up solutions online and found that you could update the firmware on the adapter using a PC. However, I've tried both Nexilux and MayFlash firmware updates and neither worked. The Switch is running 22.1.0.
Oh, when I try to update the firmware on my PC I get an error message stating "It's a different product, the firmware is not matched, Cant update it!"
