My parents sent me this post from fb, and as a student who advocates for mental health recognition in the classroom, most especially in public schools, it’s disheartening to see these kinds of posts (especially sa fb), that us students today are accused of being too sensitive, and being called “weak”, “hindi masunurin”, or even “disrespectful”
I honestly completely understand the views and options of this post, but I also believe others should also understand that each generation grows up (and will grow up) differently, most especially generations being born in the 21st century, and there are definitely other ways in disciplining our generation for us to become the best version of ourselves.

Hellooo! For those who are still looking for a review center for UPCAT or CETs 2027, or are looking for a honest, reliable, and unbiased collective review, this is my review on Academic Gateway as someone who is studying at a private high school, under the HUMSS strand
Kakatapos lang po namin ng mga f2f review sessions sa AG North Edsa branch a few weeks ago. Please take note rin that this is NOT a sponsored review. I will try to be as honest and transparent as I can with my experience, hoping na this could be a piece of information that can help current and future CET takers on which review center will fit their goals and expectations.
First of all, for as low as 6000 or even 5000, I was so surprised on how much material they gave us, of course the book (which is very thick and kasama na sa bayad mismo). Also, they provide a portal filled with pre recorded lectures that you can access until the next year, so in case na you need to review or get in depth more sa mga problems, you can always check there, which is big big help for me as someone na pretty slow paced na matuto. If you enrolled in f2f classes rin, they let you take pictures of the notes and solutions in the whiteboard after the class, para madali mong mababalikan ;)
As for the classes, let me tell you one thing, ang galing ng mga instructors nila. Their credentials are university level, with some even able to take masters and associate degrees abroad. All of them either passed multiple universities, studied in big 4 universities, or currently teach in big 4 universities or science high schools today. During the sessions, a lot of them also share mga tips and tricks on how to budget your time during the exams, the overall system of the CETs, and even their personal experiences when taking the exams.
But the thing is, every session iba yung mga instructors niyo. You won’t stick to one teacher per subject for the duration of your stay. Palit-palit ang mga instructors niyo per session, and of course, iba’t ibang teaching styles rin ma-eencounter niyo. Personally, there’s nothing wrong with that for me, but it may feel like a hassle for some students na nagstrustruggle with being very flexible with different teaching styles.
As for the pacing, it is very fast talaga, in which I struggled with. Their collective system is similar daw to board exam reviews: you learn how to apply the lessons to the questions rather than learning the lessons one by one. With this technique, dapat you know at least an adequate amount of knowledge for the topic or else hindi mo magegets immediately yung mga instructors niyo. I lowkey struggled with this dilemma sometimes, especially na may learning gaps ako in some subjects, kasi hindi namin natutunan some of the topics sa school namin. If this system is something na you might struggle in, especially kapag sanay kayo with topics being taught one by one, then maybe AG is not for you.
At the end of your sessions, you will be given a mock exam, in which is very similar sa mga materials at exercises na sinagot niyo during your sessions. The thing is, wala rin pre-test ang AG, which is for me, isa sa mga major na aspects na kulang sila. You don’t really know saan ka magiimprove before the review sessions start, in which is difficult for me as someone who doesn’t really know how to properly distinguish their strengths with their weaknesses 😅
Overall, AG was a memorable experience for me. Marami ako natutunan na nakatulog sa akin, and I was able to get many resources and knowledge during this time. Yes, maganda and worth it ang AG, but it is not for everyone. If you prefer application of topics, and independent learning, then maybe AG is a good fit for you. But kapag sobrang sanay kana in reviewing the topics one by one, or are struggling with certain learning gaps and do not have any knowledge on certain topics, then maybe AG is something that you can reconsider instead.
This is why when choosing a review center, it is important na you know what kind of environments can you thrive in to maximize your resources and your success. Fortunately, a lot of review centers now is known to have a high quality na pagtuturo, including AG, it is just a matter of knowing and researching about their system and learning environments, and if you can see yourself learn productively and develop skills in that review center, then go for it!

Hellooo! I know this is a safe space for so many people, but if it’s ok, I just want to share a bit of good news for me, and sana rin, a little piece of hope for those who are struggling right now, lalo na with those who are balancing mental health challenges with academics.
For a short bg: I always moved up with honors ever since elementary, but due to my mental health I’ve been struggling with my academics ever since grade 7. Lumala pa lalo unfortunately noong grade 9, and due to that, nalaglag yung grades ko to lines of 8. Nawala ako ng motivation (as in) to study, to the point nag worry na yung parents ko with what was happening. I lost my honors from grade 9 to grade 10. Sobrang depressed ako during that period, dumagdag pa lalo nung nawala ako sa honors list. Nawala ako ng pagasa for me to succeed in school
Yung nagstart na ng SHS, something a bit personal happened that made me gain my spark back. The depression is still there unfortunately- pero all of a sudden, my motivation was overpowering it. Sabi ng mga teachers ko grabe yung improvement ko sa performance ko, lalo na sa mga PETA at exams ko. I was taking on more leadership roles, lalo na sa research.
hindi ko akalain na kaya ko pa pala. that it got better
And today, I got my report card, I’m back in the honors list for this school year 🥺
I just want to share this para sana I can become a glimmer of hope. That someday, something in life will overpower whatever plague your mental health will bring. Something that will help you keep going, even if it feels impossible. I was there before- yung pakiramdam na wala na pagasa for me to succeed again, but here I am. And I hope whoever is reading this will know that you are not alone, you are still worthy of hope and recognition, and life will promise to take you to new heights.
I was there in your position before, and here I am. And I pray and manifest and will assure, that it will be the same for you.

Hi, I’ve been struggling with my mental health ever since 2019. The past years have been really hard on my emotions, and I would really want to. be at ease with my mental health bago ako mag college.
I’ve never been diagnosed, nor have been able talk to a psychiatrist (kasi my parents think that I am being “maarte” lang and don’t need therapy), thus me trying to resort to mental health hotlines/chats (which unfortunately, either does not respond to my calls or takes weeks to respond kapag chat).
Sana I can finally talk to someone trained. anonymously, to finally figure out what do I need to do. I would really want to finally find help for myself after years of staying silent and neglected. :(
