Alright the FOMO got to me. Just picked up Final Girl at the store. I hate horror but here we goooo

This is going to go nicely with my cute critters only collection of board games. It’s time I branched out though. I can’t stay on cute art only forever 😂

Games like Creature Caravan, Wondrous Creatures, Everdell, etc but without so many different pieces? Is that a thing? Help!

I really love cute (or just neat art) tableau builders but all the ones I love are such table hogs. Which I can look past but then they also have a million pieces to keep up with and I just hate getting them out knowing I have to put it ask away 😄

Anything with a similar feel but mostly cards and board without a crazy amount trackers and inventory pieces?

Suggestions for campaign or legacy game?

I find that I play games way more of there is a campaign mode or things to work towards. Legacy is also fine.

What are your favorites (that are actually available right now) and why?

I don’t have a ton of criteria because I play all sorts of games. I prefer the art to be on the more modern side and not looking like the art style of the early 2000s if that makes any sense) but other than that no major preference.

I can’t seem to get a clear answer. Can my issues really be BVD if Klonopin makes all my symptoms disappear?

I’ve been to every sort of doctor and all that’s left is a BVD specialist. It’s going to cost a lot of money. I question could this even be it if Klonopin makes all my symptoms go away?

Symptoms:

Extreme eye strain that worsens with close to tasks

Nausea, headache and dizziness if it gets really bad from too much close to work throughout the day

Light sensitivity

Fatigue

That’s it.

If I take the med, I’m 100% back to normal. Of course I ask not supposed to take them daily so I only get relief once or twice a week.

Can a vestibular migraine last months?

I had extremely bad eye strain and feeling motion sick for 2. Then just the crazy eye strain. It would reset every day when I woke up and get worse through the day. Especially looking at screens. My primary doctor gave me nurtec to try because a neurologist around here is booked 4 months out and within an hour the eye strain went away?? I assumed I had pppd from how long it lasted but then nurtec wouldn’t work. I don’t understand how you can have a migraine for months.

What board games is everyone backing currently if any?

Curious if anyone is backing any kickstarter currently that hasn’t closed yet?

I’m thinking about doing Rosalie because it looks adorable lol but I’m wanting to look around at some others people are interested in since I always seem to have my “cute” glasses on and miss some gems based on art style.

Can I use plastic under rocks here or will that be dangerous because of draining?

This is a bit of a diy because I’ve never landscaped a thing in my life but I was tired of dealing with the weeds here. The last owner didn’t do any barrier below.

I got some plastic but now I’m wondering should I get mesh instead because of these wood pieces blocking the flow?

Small box but heavy recommendations? What’s your favorite and why!

I love not having to set up too much but it seems my collection of not a lot of set up games are too light and while they are fun I want a challenge more often than not.

Ideas? I would love to know your thoughts on it as well in addition to just recommending if possible!

Thank you

New and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong

When starting out did anyone experience this? Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

When I get off the bike after a class my groin area is numb for a few mins. I feel like I must be pinching something? Doesn’t seem to matter if I sit up straight or lean in on the handles.

It goes away after a few mins but I don’t want to mess something up down there lol

Best non solo games you’ve turned solo with two handing?

I two handed Creature Caravan today even though you can play solo and it was actually really fun so it got me thinking maybe I can expand my collection to technically non solo games if there are fun two handed.

Any favorites?

Edit: wow you guys like some heavy games!

Hi it’s me again- the girl asking for a cute game all the time. Any medium/heavy/campaign games with super cute artwork?

I think my collection of cute is at its peak with light games. I have them all. It’s also at its peak with roll and writes.

I think it’s time to venture into medium to hard or campaign territory.

I did order Eila already but anything else?

Cuteness factor needs to be pretty high 😆

I messed up. Been taking klonopin every 2-3 days after tapering off and being off several months and now I don’t know what to do. It’s the only thing that stops the extreme eye strain.

Ugh. I had a major vertigo event a year ago. At that point I was down to about .125 mg a day. After about two weeks I was better. I had fluid in my ears.

5 months later I started Zoloft for OCD and it gave me dpdr so I stopped. I still managed to not take any benzo for weeks. The dpdr faded but was replaced by this weird eye strain and dizziness if I look at anything close up. Phone, my computer at work, crochet, a board game, writing a letter, etc. not only do my eyes hurt really bad doing these, but then I’m just screwed the entire day. The rest of the day my eyes are strained and I’m dizzy and off.

I went to get surgery done and was couldn’t calm down so they gave me Ativan. I waited two hours to be taken back and I realized in that moment that it was the first time in weeks I wasn’t straining my eyes and dizzy. I felt so good just feeling normal.

After that (about 3 months ago I started taking my klonopin again just once a day every 3 days or so in order to have a life. I could drive, go to the grocery store, take my kid to the park. But I knew going back to daily was going to screw me so I suffered days between although not as bad. It seems the clonazepam can stop the dizziness for two days. Day 3 it starts coming back and I just suffer that day, then day 4 I take another.

I feel stuck now. I know this isn’t sustainable. I’ve been to every doctor and they all have no idea. My primary thinks maybe it’s from my vertigo event (something called PPPD) but my symptoms don’t really match up but there’s no other explanation.

Now I’m wondering if it’s the klonopin even though I was off several months before all this started. Could it have been a delayed reaction and now I’m just prolonging it?

Did anyone else have these symptoms? Severe eye strain to the point you’re dizzy? It feels like when I look in the mirror my eyes should look super stoned and squinty but they look normal.

Ugh I don’t know what to do. I’m not anxious at all. I’m just strained and dizzy. But I can’t even drive without it and the thought of stopping again and going through months of not being able to leave my house sounds so defeating.

My husband asked what I wanted to do for my birthday- to the game store! Elia, Cascadia, River Valley, and more

Anyone played the Eila one? It was the only one I didn’t know anything about.

u/lateralus420 — 2 months ago

Is anyone’s main symptoms visual strain? Been checked a million times by eye doctors and BVD doctor

My main symptoms are my eyes are super strained. It feels like I’m squinting even though I’m not. When I look in the mirror I expect my eyes to look stoned but I look normal lol. Anyway this makes my jaw hurt too and if I do any work on a computer I get severe head pressure and the only relief is holding my temples hard.

Otherwise I get dizzy in a sense of my head feels crazy and therefore everything else just feels off so I can get nauseous if it gets really bad.

I would describe it like motion sick but only in my head? I don’t sway or have vertigo or feel rocky. Just off?

Been to everything but a neurologist but feeling defeated and wondering if anyone has mostly just the eye symptoms?

Edit:  I forgot to mention this all started with a major vertigo event 10 months ago while I was working late at night on the computer. I stood up and felt drunk and the room spun. Had nystagmus for 3 days. Never got spins again though.

Simple set up games (light to medium?) recommendations? Beat my own score type.

Hello!

What are some good light to medium games. I don’t like to have too many things to set up to start.

Currently obsessed with Harmonies because it’s just so quick to restart and play a few in a row. I like that I am just trying to get a better score each time. I like I don’t really have to read anything. And I like that it’s nice/cozy art (although I’m wiling to try non cozy art lol)

So anything with those qualities-

Easy set up

Sorta quick (like 30 min?)

Beat your own score

Minimal reading

Bonus: cute/cozy

Other solo games I have already:

Cascadia

Canvas

Railroad Tiles

Flamecraft

Thanks!

Can someone let me know if this is a good routine for beginner lifting weights?

So I somehow managed to never work out a day in my life until this week and I’m 38 female. 5’4 and 135 lbs.

I do take walks every day so it’s not like I’m sedentary but just never really did anything with weights or cardio beyond taking long walks. (I do a mile in 20 min so not slow but not anything hard)

Anyway, I have this stupid vestibular issue that got me to a PT and while I was there they were like “wow your neck and shoulders are jacked up” 😅

They gave me 2 exercises to do with a functional trainer/pulley machine and I realized how much I liked the machine and bought one for my garage.

Basically they think if I strengthen my chest and upper body it will alleviate a lot of symptoms exasperated by my vestibular disorder.

I am doing leg days too don’t worry, but mostly wanting advice on my upper body days is this enough to kinda hit a little bit of everything? I am doing the rep number and weight amount based on close to failure (like I could do 2 more maybe). And for sets I just did 3 for all to keep it easy. This is 2 times a week.

Face Pulls
12 reps x3

Low-to-High Cable Fly
10 reps x3

Tricep pull down
10 reps x3

Cable Row with Pause
12 reps x3

Straight-Arm Pulldown
12 reps x3

Rear Delt Cable Fly
12 reps x3

Pallof Press
10 reps per side x3

Thoughts?

Torque Anker 7 is pretty legit for its price/size/assembly

I’ve had some vestibular issues for quite a while that has made going to the gym almost impossible because I can’t time when I won’t be dizzy af. Decided to start a home gym but don’t have a lot of space so I went for the cable machine to get the most out of one item.

I’m very deconditioned from years of not going to the gym because of my condition and I’m a 5’4 female so I was a little worried I would not be able to set this up, but honestly it was really easy (minus the math I had to do to get my wall flush).

Comes with a 10 year warranty so hopefully I’ll get some good use out of it!

Anyways, for the price, easy installation, and space saving I would recommend this for sure! It’s very smooth.

I want to give in and go back so bad. Been off 8 months.

I don’t know what else to do. Nothing is working for me. I’ve tried so many “long term” meds. I have good days and even sometimes 3-4 days in a row, but it never lasts. I’ve been in therapy and feel no closer to being better. I have OCD as well and it was just so much more manageable when I was on daily benzos.

Cute art solo games like Flamecraft?

Trying to take advantage of a BOGO 50% deal and wondering what other games have super cute artwork and can be played solo? I really don’t have a preference for style of gameplay, I just want it to be really cute (and fun/challenging obviously).

Already have the “span” games, everdell, and creature comforts.

Doesn’t have to be animals.
