[Boccia Titanium] 3738-07

Got this digital titanium watch from Boccia today.

The render photos of this ref might show slightly different gray (blue-ish), but it’s just gray. Also there are other colors: blue, green (on straps) and PVD versions (gold, darker titanium). As far as I know, there are refs from 1 to 7.

Upd: sorry for the typo, this is Ref 05, not 07

The watch is inexpensive, but feels good. The case is 37mm, the lug width is closer to 21mm and the weight is ~67g sized to my 6.5-inch wrist.

Display:

It’s crisp, the viewing angles are good.

You might think that there’s some empty space on the bottom, but this is for the indicators of the active timer/alarms.

The modes are: chrono, countdown (which also beeps, not sure how often), world time, 2 alarms.

The bracelet doesn’t have half-links and micro adjust. I couldn’t find a good fit (unlike with the Traska). I emailed Boccia if they have the OEM rubber strap for sale. I saw the titanium bracelet on their website, but not the strap.
I could not fit my Garmin rubber strap, because the lugs are too short it seems. And with the 20mm leather strap there’s a small gap, so I want to try a 21mm leather if I won’t be able to get the OEM one.
The clasp is stamped, which is ok for this price point.

P.S. Sorry for the unformatted post. Rate my 2-watch collection!

[Rado] Titanium alternatives to Captain Cook 39mm Shimmering?

I really like the design and texture, and the sweet spot 45mm L2L.
Are there any alternatives?
- Titanium
- Textured dial (not plain)
- 45-46mm lug to lug (39mm in diameter)
- Under 1600€

I saw the Certina DS Action Titanium 38mm, but I don’t like its plain dial.

Performance band - sizing?

Hi. What size of the performance band (or 3rd party rubber bands) is better for a round 6.6-inch (16.7 cm) wrist?

Is Google Health actionable (strength/recovery) without AI?

I’d like a wearable to see if my strain over the week is within the target zone or I need more volume.
And maybe some sleep coaching.

I’m not interested in raw numbers and don’t want to talk to AI.
I’d rather prefer charts and simple interface and actionable advice.

Is the Fitbit Air/Google Health good in the above or you find it not very useful?

I currently own a basic/old Garmin model that doesn’t support the load charts, sleep coaching etc. And I like the Fitbit’s size.

Cirqa or Fitbit Air for strength and recovery?

For weight lifting, I start a cardio session on my Forerunner 55 (doesn’t have strength training) and log the exercises to Hevy.
I’d like a wearable to see if my load over the week is within the target zone or I don’t have enough volume.
And maybe some sleep coaching.

I wear my Forerunner 55 occasionally and currently don’t look at Garmin Connect (ie just live heart rate monitoring).

I don’t like the Cirqa’s wrist presence (24mm band and long pod, compared to my 36mm nice watch), so the FitBit wins here.
But I don’t know if Google Health is actionable (I don’t like talking to AI). And the Bevel app looks bloated.

Which device would you go with?

Does logging weights and reps (strength training) affect strain/recovery calculation?

Hi, how am I supposed to track workouts so that the strain/recovery is evaluated correctly? I.e. what is more accurate:

  1. Tracking weights and reps in Bevel workout templates
  2. Generic activity on the wearable (without reps, weights and exercises)
  3. Options 1 and 2 combined

I currently track workout details in Hevy and use generic activities on the wearable.
Is there any benefit to the metrics calculation, if I log the above to Bevel (free version)?

Small watch collection. Recommendations?

On the left: Traska Commuter 36mm in Steel Blue. I’ve been wearing it for >1 year, and it has little scratches thanks to the hardened coating. It can look both sporty and dressy depending on the outfit. 119g.
Pros:
Tool-less micro-adjust, great GADA, solid build quality, screw-down crown. The lume is excellent (last year’s reference - lasts for hours). The design was an instant buy for me. The bracelet also has half-links and screw pins.
Cons:
Only 42h power reserve. The design might be boring for some, and I think the branding could be better. Accuracy is decent, but worse than the Khaki Field I previously owned.
Tried it on few straps, this color looks good only with the bracelet imo.
Overall, I’m very happy with the watch.

On the right: Garmin Forerunner 55. A proper tool watch. It’s quite worn lol, and I love it as well. I tried an Apple Watch but ended up returning it.
I like to keep my collection minimal. I previously owned a Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm but gifted it to a family member (it was sliding outwards on my wrist, idk why).

I’m open to recommendations, I’d add some fun/vacation sporty piece, 400-600€.
My “dream” 3rd watch now could be a thin titanium dive(tool) watch with L2L of ~45mm and not boring (eg the Certina 38mm diver is too monochrome for me). Ideally quartz for lower price and thinness.
P.s. and not a field watch.

Few picks I considered:
- Bauhaus 2130-1. (I just liked the design, more of a dress watch), but it’s 42mm :(
- Casio Lineage. Decided to pass due to a bit boring color and bracelet finishing (if there were a similar watch with better finishing, I could bump the budget by a few hundreds).

Routine and style advice?

Routine: I wash my hair every 3 days. I apply the Dermedic Capilarte shampoo (аnti-dаndruff). And leave it for a couple of mins before rinsing it.
I also recently bought the Mix Professional antifrizz, the instructions say to use it with a blow dryer. I did a couple of times, seems to help styling.

  1. How often can I use the Mix Professional antifrizz + blow dryer? I’m used to just rubbing my hair with the towel until it’s almost dry.
  2. Wanted to get a middle part at the barber’s today - can I pull it off? Last pic is the current length.
  3. Advice to make the hair less dry and frizzy?

What hair type do I have and what hairstyles would suit it? Barber appointment today

Trying to figure out if my hair is wavy, curly or something else. I only use an anti-dandruff shampoo, my hair is pretty dry and frizzy. I was thinking about getting a middle part, but not sure I can pull it off in its current state - open to ideas. The last photo is my current hair. What styles/haircuts would you recommend?

I activated a reward and all rewards broke

2 weeks ago, I decided to spend 150 out of my ~200 points on the restaurant. After I activated the reward, the app broke and I’m no longer able to access any rewards including the one I activated.
So I had to pay for the meal in full. I re-installed the app, still the same 2 weeks after. The web version works. I already lost some points due to the expiration. What can I do? I use IKEA Spain and there’s no customer support email on the website.

How would you learn to drive from scratch with no language?

We live in a medium-sized Spanish city of ~200k people.

I’ve never driven a car before and don’t know anything about them.

Additionally, we don’t have any local friends here (only expats), and the job doesn’t require knowing Spanish. I struggle understanding anything but very simple phrases.

What would be the strategy to actually become confident in driving so we can travel around?

I can do theory in English and learn basic phrases for the practical exam.

My main concern is, since there seem to be no English-speaking schools in my area, learning will be very inefficient due to the language barrier. I found expat groups on this topic, but people had already had some driving experience, they just took 6-10 classes to brush up on it.

Any advice?

You become the best in the world at one skill/area. But nobody knows it, you have no network, and you’re not allowed to use any existing connections.
You have 1 week to get $1,000,000 into your bank account (fully transferred).
If you fail, you become the worst in that skill.
If you succeed, you keep both the money and the skill.
No superpowers - you’re just slightly better than everyone else (top 1).
Example: you pick boxing. You’re the best, but you have no record. Getting a million-dollar fight in a week is unlikely.
Do you take the deal?
What do you pick, and what’s your plan?

Recently, I’ve gotten back into browsing watches. I’m open to inspiration for affordable, fun pieces (non-standard shapes, colors, etc.), ideally cheaper than the Traska.
Do you think something like the Underd0g Watermelon would fit into my collection? I also like the CW Celestial Moonphase (the one with the clouds), but it’s out of my budget.

What do you think of my collection?
