Driving from LA to SF with a 6mo baby - take 5 or 101?
Please weigh in if you’ve done this! 101 looks longer but maybe easier to stop if baby is fussy?
Any tips?

9 month old goes to sleep independently in crib at night without issue. But for naps, absolutely refuses to sleep in crib unless nursed to sleep. (Otherwise is ok with contact nap without nursing). Will cry and cry nonstop and after 20 min I give in just to save the nap so the night doesn’t get ruined.
Schedule is 3/3.5/4
How do I fix this? Longer CIO?
People keep mentioning how she still uses the pool but I haven’t seen it any videos. Can anyone enlighten me
Just got my LADWP bill and nearly had a heart attack. Obviously am using too much AC. What temperature are you guys cooling your home to?
And yes I know there are a lot of factors that affect how hard your unit works- the system, windows, how many zones, etc. Just merely curious what temp folks cool to!
Same person defending her in the first comment saying she has to remind herself she doesn’t actually know EK….
It’s giving treats this like a joke
Where can I go with my dog on hot days that is inside?
I have done my grocery shppping at Trader Joe’s for as long as I can remember. But now that I have a baby and have been paying closer attention to ingredient labels, I am struggling with whether Trader Joe’s is a good option for us. It seems like even their items that should be minimally processed have a lot of extra ingredients compared to competitor options at other stores. The produce is also often iffy. Do you agree? Is it moderately granola of me to think that it’s not a good option to shop there anymore, or is it full granola 😂?
I tour a lot of homes on the westside where a large percentage of them have converted their garages to ADUs. This leaves absolutely NO storage….nowhere to put a stroller, holiday decorations, extra paper towels, anything…forget a Costco membership, there’s nowhere to put anything!
I just saw this home and absolutely fell in love. It’s stunning. But there’s literally nowhere to put anything at all. How are folks with kids making it work, genuinely? A small storage box in the backyard can maybe fit some sports items or a stroller but what about inside?
Do they end up using the ADU for storage? If so, what’s even the point of all these garage conversions?
I toured this house in the golden triangle of Marina Del Rey. It has been listed and de-listed several times over the last 6mo but the owner clears out the listing history each time so it looks like a new listing. It was a very bizarre open house as she followed me around the whole time. At the end she asked if it would work for me and when I said it wasn’t the one, she kept asking why and tried to rebut each of my reasons. I felt like I couldn’t leave. Very odd. I see it’s listed again with another open house tomorrow.
Yes, I know price is always the reason but they’ve dropped the price to basically what they paid in 2021. This seems cheap for the square footage, does anyone have any insight into this property and why it isn’t selling as much as its comps in the area?
My 7mo old is sleep trained and was on a 3 nap schedule for a long time. Suddenly this week she can’t stay up more than 2 hours and is taking 4 naps. We are on day 5 of this. Is this temporary and I just let it happen? Or something I need to fix?
I was at the beach and there was a street musician singing a song while playing guitar. I can’t remember the song at all except that in the middle there’s a line that just says “my baby” as its own phrase. It’s not central to the chorus, it was just thrown in between 2 lines. I do know the song had an easy cadence to sing along to. I also believe the song to be at least 20ish years old. Could be older. I am 30 and have known it for a long time.
PLEASEEEEE help if you have any idea what this could be! Thank you!
This is the recipe:
Whipped Sheep's Cheese
40 servings
INGREDIENTS:
Sheep's Cheese
6.10 lb sheep's cheese
700 g cream cheese
450 g heavy cream
Truffle Honey
400 g of honey
40 g of truffle oil
STEP 1
Add heavy cream, sheep's and cream cheese to the bowl of a stand mixer with paddle attachment. Mix it for 12-15 minutes at high speed. It should come out light and fluffy.
Scrape the sides down with a spatula if necessary.
HONEY TRUFFLE OIL
Add both ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix it well, then transfer it to a squeeze bottle, and keep at room temperature.
AT PICK UP
Scoop 3-3.5 oz of whipped cheese in a wood board, use the backside of a paella spoon to press cheese down and smear the cheese on to the board, drizzle some truffle/honey on top sea salt and dust some pimenton to finish. (serve it with some grilled bread)
Grew up in the south. This was very decent barbecue. The turkey was extremely juicy and the brisket was delicious. Cornbread was a little dry, Mac and cheese was a miss.
Importantly, I didn’t feel like shit the rest of the day as I often did after Texas bbq so they must use less sodium or something.
Would definitely go back. And eventually I want to try Heritage bbq in OC to compare.
I want to bring some frozen meals to new parents. But I don’t want to just get stuff from the grocery store. Are there any local restaurants in the Venice ish area that have frozen food to buy?
Sleep trained our 7 month old using Ferber method at 5 months. It was going pretty well and we got 4-5 hour stretches for the first time.
6 months got vaccines followed by illness and now the last few weeks have been hell. Screaming at bedtime like crazy for 30 min and wakes every 2.5 hours.
Schedule is 2.5/2.5/2.5/3.
We tried transitioning to 2 naps but that seemed to make things even worse so we added it back.
The screaming at bedtime sounds more like overtired to me than anything, but I don’t know why since still getting 3 naps in.
Help?
We are sleep training my 6 month old, who varies between 2 and 3 naps each day. But total nap time is the same (~3 hours). Some days she just really wants to nap after only like 2 hours and other days she naturally has longer wake windows.
Is it ok to be inconsistent with this and just go based on her preferences that day?
Looks like a restaurant opening but all I can see is a blue electric sign that says Organic. Anyone know what’s coming?
