Help finding picture
As a kid in the 70s, I saw a line art drawing of a triceratops ramming its horns into the thigh of a Tyrannosaurus rex. This was in a dinosaur book. I have been searching for years for this on the Internet, but cannot find it. Does anyone else recall seeing such an image? Or did I maybe just miss remember it?
Why can’t Larkin just return to the Wings?
The way I look at the short list of teams that Larkin presented is that these are the only teams that he’d rather play for than Detroit. As such, why can’t he just come back and play 1C for us? All the podcasts talk about how much he’d get boo’ed or whatever, but I just don’t find it that compelling.
What toy did you want but never got back in the day?
For me, it was the big bouncy ball with handles. I don't remember the name. It was like a kickball, but big enough that you could sit on it and bounce around as if it was a sit-down pogo stick
Tiamat statue
There is a large Tiamat statue in downtown Rochester. It’s in a museum dedicated to games
Brown water in bathtub only
The upstairs bathtub, which is almost never used, has brown water. The shower and sinks in the same bathroom are fine. I figure then that the issue is the pipes going to the bathtub only. Maybe rusted through disuse.
I’ve run water through its pipes for several minutes but it is still brown. Any thoughts?
Texas toy museum
If you are ever in Austin, Texas, I would recommend visiting the Texas toy museum. The owner is one of us, a true 80s fan and G1 transformer guy. He has an amazing museum full of all sorts of vintage 70s and 80s toys. Micronauts, shogun warriors, Battlestar, Galactica, G1 transformers, etc.. There’s also a whole arcade full of free play games from our childhood.
Goalies - do you want your defensemen blocking shots?
The other day I kicked aside a shot that I saw coming from the point. My goalie was livid. He said “never ever ever block a shot.” And he is a good goalie, had an invite to a professional minor league team
Still, I was surprised. I thought goalies want us to block shots, no?
I got cooked
I got beat by a player I was defending against last night. He is definitely a better player than me. Is there something I did wrong, something I could do better, or is it just “he’s better, live with it”?
I am playing right side D
Edit: thank you to all who took time to reply! I really appreciate all the solid advice and constructive criticism. Everything you guys are saying seems dead on correct
Rules of thumb for defense to go for a change
Help settle a friendly debate for me.
I always felt that defense should not go for a change unless 1) we have the puck or 2) puck is dumped in deep.
My buddy says you can go for a change if the other team has possession, even in the neutral zone, provided they are behind the red line
What do you guys and gals think?
