Looking for specific YouTube video reviewing Dennis’s “Pacific Ocean Blue”

Hi folks,

I’ve been inundating my boyfriend with Beach Boys history, and I really want to show him a review of the aforementioned album I can’t seem to find. I thought it was a Todd in the shadows video, but nah. This video is on PCB and Dennis’s life overall, seems to be an older video, the audio isn’t 2026 standard, but the laughs and info are all there. It’s a really good video. I think it starts with a dude and his record of it.

I feel like this sounds like a lot of reviewers but maybe someone on here remembers a review of such high quality

Anyone else the “last of their name?”

In this context, “Last of name” means you can generally verify there are no living individuals on this planet with your surname and exact spelling, and that surname will die with you.

Being the last original Smith in a family bloodline does not count, because there are other smiths in the USA.

Being the only remaining Smyth in the Smith family counts, if there is no one else you can think of or verify with a good google search.

I wanted to ask this question because I have a last name which will be extinct if I don’t pass it on, which I probably won’t. No one in my family has it, and those who have the name globally never spelled it like my family did. I’ve done searches up and down, and it’s one of those “so rare it might as well be a misspelling” type of name because I haven’t met another family with it even though it’s phonetically commonish.

I want to preface that there is no pressure to actually share your family name haha anyone who shares a name with these traits knows how easy it is to google

Are enthusiasts still continuing to refurbish old units as time goes on?

Hi there,

Enthusiast here who’s always wanted a player but could never afford one. When I last wanted one 15 years ago, they were $300. Now they’re $1,000. I’m not complaining about price, but I am worried about and uninformed if there are folks dutifully refurbishing machines and reselling them. I am concerned if I wait too long, they will go completely extinct without a market of enthusiasts dedicated to refurbishing them.

Word parsing galore

How come anything Jackson family-related has the benefit of fans and onlookers analyzing every single word and syllable for symbolism?

I feel like one meta phenomenon in the fandom is the fact that we take statements that would be instant red flags in any other social situation and break them down into digestible pieces that would “make sense” in very strange, specific contexts, but truly make no sense in the bigger picture.

Like, if I wanna approach this method in good faith, why does Michael and the Jackson family say and do so much weird shit if they don’t? Why do we need complicated explanations for objectively weird interactions between adults and children, interactions we would otherwise talk down about in other families? I’m not just talking about the Mj allegations either. I see anecdotes about the rest of the family that have me go “WTF?!”

The word parsing gets me going.

Live vocal videos

Does anyone have a good list of links they can drop for videos of the group singing completely live with quieter backing tracks instead of those popular award show performances on YouTube?

I’m mainly interested in finding videos where you can hear left eye singing along to the chorus or doing backup vocals besides what I’ve seen, which is rapping live and lipping to a chorus with a loud backing track.

I don’t know if I’m asking for something that doesn’t exist haha I think there’s videos where you can hear Chili over the track or if I’m misremembering

Need help identifying an old jack so I can find an adapter

I’ve seen double and mono jacks before but never with a different shape like this one. Can someone be a friend and identify the jacks, and also what kind of adapter I would need to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

Mic info is in pictures. Rubber near the jacks says “Sony Japan” if you can’t make it out or think it’s pertinent

My favorite Britney reference

I will be shocked if anyone knows this Missy verse which begins at 2:23. This is not only one of my favorite missy verses, but also my favorite Britney cultural reference.

“Hold up, hell no! Like Britney Spears I wear no draws”

For those who don’t know, there was a WEIRD point in time where Britney, Paris, and Lindsay were all going out together (sometimes separately) and just flashing straight on vagina to the paparazzi. They would intentionally leave the house without any underwear and go to the club. I don’t know if this was a wider phenomenon but it sure was happening within this trio.

Since I first received this album for Christmas in 6th grade, Missy’s line has ALWAYS made me holler. This was such an important cultural event

aeimjaroen - is this a “historical” surname? Do you recognize this surname?

I originally wanted to make this question as concise as possible, but for fear of deletion and misunderstanding, I think I should give some context. This isn’t a typical “find a single person in an entire country” post.

My name is Logan. I am American. My grandmother had a brief marriage to a Sirvit Aeimjaroen, a Thai national who would end up being my biological grandfather. They married in 1975 in Vegas, and would get divorced a few years later when my mother was very young. In the same time frame they divorced, he was later deported. To us, that is the end of his story. He later would be seen by my grandmother one more time a few years later in the U.S. asking (not in court) for the custody of my mother and uncle. I have no other context to that last anecdote.

we have a pretty strong oral tradition in our family, and one of our most famous family “tall tales” is how Sirvit was from a respected family who had ties (specifically his father) to the royal family itself. He married my grandmother against their wishes, and forfeited the privileges which came from his former life.

I have questions like: if this surname or his full name holds any recognition in Thai society, politics, or higher circles. I would also like to know how his name is spelled in Thai script. Is there also any reliable search system or way I could possibly track him or his family down? I know I’m limited by the English internet.

We sadly do not have his birthday, or any info about him besides the kind I just gave. I am not sure if these are common Thai names or not.

I also do not have any delusions of grandeur, and know this is probably a fantastic family tale. I also know a prestigious family from the 1970s might not be known today.

Thanks in advance

I need a GVC hot dog

Fr. I can’t track it down. I swear to god there’s a GVC hot dog clip art with one of those kitsch hard-lined backgrounds of the time.

Does anyone have any GVC styled hot dogs which don’t look like the stuff I’m seeing on Google images? The stuff on Google images don’t have that iconic background framing the whole scene

Where did Birdman’s nickname of “Beatrice” come from

So, I’ve been up to speed on all the Birdman / Gay stuff for a while now, but when I was flipping through his wikipedia entry for discography and probably gay reasons, i noticed the name “Beatrice” under the section for nicknames.

Can someone cite where this nickname came from?

Is this real because I know Wikipedia is pretty quick on getting rid of joke edits, and I’m sure there’s a Birdman stan watching his article 24/7.
