Beginner investor - Advice needed

Hi everyone!

I am an expat living in Qatar and completely new to investing.
I am thinking of starting with the Qatar Stock Exchange and would love to hear from people who already invest here.
What is the process for getting started, which broker would you recommend, and what are some important dos and don’ts or mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?

Iam looking to invest long term, so any advice would be really appreciated!

Thank you

Winter

I cannot wait for winters to be honest. I am done with this entire summer already, I know the worst is yet to come in August and honestly, I’m not prepared for it. I think none of us are the humidity outside is almost killing us right noww oh gosh

Anyways, I wanted to know what is your favourite winter activity to do or where do you like going when the weather is very nice and chilly?
For me to be honest, I really wanna have like a good hot chocolate when it’s finally chilly outside. I’m already dreaming about it while we are at to drop your favourite hot chocolate places as well.

Photobooth

Hey guys

I am looking to rent a branded photo booth for an event. I am looking for one of those proper photo booths that prints the photo strips right after you take the pictures.
If you know any companies that offer this service, please let me know in the comments. I would really appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you!

Florist

Hi Guys

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced florist for a small event who can provide planters and vases?

I have already checked Plaza Hollandi and RG, but they’re a bit above my budget for this requirement.

I would appreciate any recommendations for more affordable options.

Thank you!

TW: Emotional and Verbal Abuse Any girl here dealing with abusive father?

I’m 26 years old, and I genuinely feel mentally exhausted from living with my father.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve grown up being scared of him. He has a very loud, aggressive personality and shuts everyone down by raising his voice. He doesn’t use swear words, but he uses derogatory terms, belittles people, ruins happy moments, and creates tension over the smallest things. There have also been times where he has physically hit me.
I’ve never really felt emotionally safe or loved in this household. All my close friends know how he is. In my previous relationship, my ex-boyfriend became my support system because whenever things happened at home, he was the one comforting me while I cried. I think when you grow up without emotional safety at home, you start searching for love and comfort outside.
I moved back abroad recently for better pay after spending years in my hometown for college and work, but coming back here has completely destroyed my mental health. I knew my father would still be the same, but I didn’t realize how much it would affect me again. The stress has become unbearable. I recently found out I have high blood pressure, and honestly, I know it’s because of the constant stress and anxiety from living in this environment.
Some days I genuinely feel suicidal because I feel trapped. Today is one of those days.
The thing is, he can get angry over the smallest things. Recently, he got angry because I bought a mini oil dispenser and a small plate for myself using my own money. I cook in this house, not him, yet I still get criticized constantly. He points out flaws in my cooking, belittles my job, my salary, and makes me feel small all the time. Most of the time he doesn’t even eat what I cook, but still finds ways to make me feel bad about it.
And yes, he spends money on me sometimes because I’m his daughter. He buys things occasionally. But to me, that doesn’t cancel out the emotional damage. His bad side is so heavy that the “good” no longer feels good anymore.
I’ve tried praying through it. But right now my iman feels extremely low. I don’t even know what to say in dua anymore. I just feel tired and emotionally numb.
Before anyone says “just move out,” in many Muslim households it’s not that simple. Staying alone before marriage is not accepted. But marriage itself feels terrifying to me because my previous relationship left me deeply traumatized too. So I feel stuck between an abusive home and fear of trusting another person again.
I just want to know  is there any other girl here going through something similar? How do you cope with this mentally without losing yourself? How do you survive emotionally when you cannot communicate with your father because every conversation turns into shouting, belittling, or emotional abuse?
I genuinely feel helpless and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who understands this.

I went through being cheated on about a year ago. I don’t love him anymore, I don’t want him back, and honestly I despise what him and what he did to me. But even after all this time, he still crosses my mind sometimes. Certain memories randomly flash in my head and I suddenly feel this wave of sadness or heaviness in my chest all over again.

I don’t stalk him or obsess over him anymore. I try to distract myself and move forward with life. But somewhere in the back of my mind, the hurt still exists, and I hate that it does.

What confuses me the most is how much this changed me emotionally. Since the breakup, I’ve talked to other guys, used dating apps, flirted, tried putting myself out there, but I haven’t genuinely fallen for anyone. It’s like a part of me doesn’t want to love again or even be loved. Maybe 1% of me still craves it sometimes, but most of me feels emotionally shut off.

I guess what I’m asking is: how long did it take you to emotionally recover after being cheated on? Not move on to another person, but genuinely stop carrying the pain and the memories around with you?

Why have health centers become so difficult when it comes to appointments?

I currently have a pretty bad cold, constant sneezing, scratchy throat, headache, and just feeling miserable overall. I tried going to a health center because private clinics are too expensive for me right now, especially with my current salary cut situation and no insurance.

What really shocked me is that even with walk-in, it has to be an extreme emergency case and not something like a cold like this. I was told I need to book an appointment instead, but the available appointments are so far away that it feels pointless when you are sick right now.

Growing up in Qatar, I remember health centers being much more accessible. You could walk in, get checked, or at least get an appointment within a reasonable time. Now it feels like waiting weeks or even months, which honestly makes no sense for common illnesses that still need treatment.

How do you guys deal with this situation with health centers? Are there any alternatives, tips, or suggestions for someone trying to avoid expensive private care but still get treated when they are actually sick?

The funniest part for me was all the males waiting outside Aldo while the store itself has no space to even move around. Crazy overwhelming crowd
Had to grab just two things did that and walked out

Have you guys been there this week? Or like today? How was your experience?
