Do dashers just not look at instructions?

I don't mean to be a jerk..

I am suffering a significant family loss this last week and a half. I'm not eating. I just want to lay in bed, but I can't because work. I can't go out in public to get groceries because I literally can't stop crying.

I have set my directions to please not ring my bell and leave on our patio. I have been tipping 50%-60% because no one ever wants to follow where to leave my food (hoping they will with a good tip) and I'm feeling emotional and thankful to anyone who is easing my burden.

It's a condo where the bell to be buzzed in sounds like war sirens. So now my kids are up once again at fucking 11pm. I find this completely unacceptable and I want my tip back. The store is literally less than a mile away.

Almost half of orders lately show as shipping late, when they are not!

I am so sick of this. I have lost star seller status because of this. My processing times are 2-3 weeks. I can ship an order a week earlier than the "ship by blah blah day" and this will still show up, marking the order as late by Etsy and further decreasing my customer service stats.

This week alone, probably more than half of my orders have shown this. I've been on Etsy for close to a decade and have never experienced this the way I have lately. Last month, 11 were shown as shipped late. The thing is, they still arrive within the estimated delivery date, every time!

I am at an absolute loss. The other day, I even had an order show that it would be late if I purchased the $60 priority express next day label, lol.

It feels like Christmas morning

I burst out crying during the announcement. I can't express how much I adore Olivia and how much I've missed her since she left. I love the podcast and my life would be miserable without it, but it's always been missing something without her. A light truly was extinguished and now it's illuminated again 🥹

This is the best day ever. We love you so much, Olive ❤️😭🥹

How do you stick with diet during bad times?

Food was always a crutch for me, that's how I got here.

I am so incredibly proud of myself for the hard work I've put in the last six months. Went from probably 3k calories a day in just fats, processed foods, junk. I rarely ordered out and loved, loved to cook, but I had NO idea until my diagnosis that eating poorly can kill you via your liver.

Too many pastas, cream, cheeses, not anywhere close to enough vegetables ever. Did a complete 180, main food source is now veggies, and cut my numbers down in half.

But I had the worst weekend I've had in a very long time. Personal issues, partner issues, major family issues. I ordered McDonald's last night and had whiskey. I woke up hating myself but there is left over McDonald's in the fridge and a sub and I just want to eat it.

How do you get through the tough times when you don't even want to make the food that deep down makes you hate food now?

Any tips or recipes on easy fast meals or meal prepping things to have them on hand? I genuinely just dislike all food now even when I'm happy, so I'm struggling.

I forgot for the slightest second that he is gone..

I was in my kitchen washing dishes, cleaning, getting breakfast and lunch ready for tomorrow. Halfway in the dark. Zoned out listening to Oliver.

I got back together with my partner of quite a few years on Sunday. I never stopped loving him. I never stopped wanting to be with him. I feel like all of the pain and heartache and all the fears disappeared Saturday evening while watching the memorial.

My heart softened and my soul felt light for the first time in years.

I texted him in the middle of the night that life is too short and I really hope we can work it out this time. We had the nicest day together on Sunday. I'm past peak age, so it's been really difficult whether to stay or finally walk away.

Tonight when I was washing dishes, I was just singing along silently and from start to finish in my head, it was maybe 3/4ths of a second of being excited we could go listen to Oliver, how much fun it would be, then immediately realizing. Realizing it's not possible.

It stopped me in my tracks. I stopped what I was doing and I just got into bed.

I suffer from depression and crippling anxiety and since Saturday, I've felt purpose for the first time in so long. I feel calm and at peace for what feels like the first time in my life. I'm not angry or anxious or bitter or holding a chip on my shoulder.

Oliver, you have touched so many lives. We will love you forever.

50 lbs of wax destroyed in transit and seller won't reply

I don't know if this belongs here, but I have no idea where to post this and what to do.

1-2 times a week (sometimes 3 during fall and winter) I order 50 lbs of wax from a large candle supply vendor. It comes in 10 lb slabs in a single box. A lot of the boxes they ship always come in falling apart, wax all broken up. The boxes are flimsy and aren't taped well. I knew it was only a matter of time.

Have 30 orders due this Friday. Wax was supposed to arrive last Friday. Never did. I check UPS tracking last Friday at 6pm and it shows the box was damaged and the entire contents were discarded, along with the box.

I've now contacted them three times about this, with no reply or resolution or return phone call or email. They always reply to me IMMEDIATELY, within half an hour. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at this place, if not over $100k at this point after years of my business.

I use PayPal and I know I can just file a dispute with them, but I am terrified out of my mind to sour anything with this company. They ship usually within an hour, it arrives next day, and is the best and cheapest wax I can find for the candles I make. It would be the end of my company if they cut ties with me.

I am heartbroken and just so angry over this. What would you do?

Also, I ordered another case today because I can't wait anymore. It was shipped within the hour but they can't send me a replacement or refund or reply to me?

Went out for four hours. Came home and sat down and this happened..

Endometriosis 👍 I literally thought I was just sweaty.

Is there anything I can do immediately so this doesn't set overnight? I just got this mattress and the cover is a nightmare to take off and I also can't do laundry this late.

Thanks so much!

Edit: I have no idea what the darker stain is. I'm wondering if this previously happened within the last couple days. I sit in this exact spot daily. I had no idea about tonight until the green sheet was very visibly stained when I came back from changing my clothes - drenched in sweat from being outside in the humidity which is why I didn't realize this happened to this extent.

The hydrogen peroxide was an absolute miracle! It immediately just disappeared. I can't attach a picture, so I did attach a clip under the top comment.

What an incredibly kind, supportive, and diligent community. I would have just scrubbed and scrubbed and made it worse and let it sit overnight! 🙏❤️

To everyone shitting on Ethan..

Suck it. He loved and cherished Oliver so much 🩷💜

That genuinely was one of the most beautifully written speeches I have ever heard. We love you, Ethan.

Edit: I feel badly about this post after seeing a few comments saying that it was adding to negativity. I never intended that, but I feel so much guilt now.

I was seeing comments even on this sub from people talking about Ethan's initial intro about Oliver. These people obviously didn't know Ethan was told by the family to roast Oliver, like Oliver would have wanted and it made me feel awful for him during his grieving.

It's painful to those of us who know what their relationship was. I stupidly didn't realize posting this that I was bringing attention to people who don't get it.

I never meant to do that. I was just so overwhelmed by Ethan's eulogy. I have never heard words in the English dictionary strung together more beautifully than I did tonight. Ethan could not have honored Oliver in a better way than he did.

My shirt is literally soaked in tears as I lay my head down tonight, wishing I could give Oliver my own life. He appreciated life so much more than I ever did or have.

I will leave this post up because I'm truly sorry if I hurt anyone or caused negativity. I never meant to do that. It was an appreciation post towards Ethan, but I realize on the other end it doesn't look that way and just adds to pain. I am seeing so many people expressing their newfound appreciation for Ethan.

I am so sorry.

We love you, Ethan. You are such an empathic, kind, beautiful, lovely soul, just like Oliver was. And is. Your eulogy for your sweet friend Oliver was just so beyond profound and honorable. There are no words I can find to explain how touching it was.

It's so incredible that Oliver's parents chose you. Most of us here found him through you. It speaks volumes to your friendship. It's all anyone needs to know.

We Iove you both.

Logan confirms he was instructed to roast Oliver

I hope this quiets everyone down about Ethan. He cherished Oliver so much.

Oliver would have loved all of this and wouldn't want anyone to do anything but laugh 🩷💜

Dobbin Walmart

Does anyone know when they will be done renovating?

It's an absolute freaking nightmare in there. Just when I figure they are almost done, every single aisle is in a new place again! I almost had a fit today seeing the entire right side of the store bare, including the pharmacy.

Plus, now they have one of the parking lots closed off. In the middle of the hot humid summer.

Are they even adding new stuff? My trip was 4x longer today than it normally is. I worked in retail for quite a while, so I completely get it, but moving the same aisles 10x so it's literally in a new spot every few days is insane. I can't find anything!! I feel so bad for doordashers and other shoppers.

I think I'm more sensitive right now because the other store I always go to is the Centre Park Giant, which has also just been completely renovated, lol.

First world problems, I know..

Hit and run neighbor stealing misdelivered packages

Trying to keep this short while not letting my anger get the best of me.

Edit: I'm done typing this and it definitely was not short and I apologize.

I've been renting my condo for roughly five years now. A large handful of times, Amazon has delivered a package of ours to the wrong unit. There is no reason or excuse for it. It's a completely different number.

Anyway, it always goes to the woman in the same A unit as mine, just a totally different building number but it is feet away - directly the next building over. Imagine 1873 and 5432. There is no reason for mixing them up.

I recognize her mat in every single picture. She knows damn well Amazon shows the picture of the mat and she knows who we are. But Every. Single. Freaking. Time. she has kept the package for herself. She does not bring it next door or leave it in the lobby. Nope. She literally steals our packages.

Do I have video evidence of this?? No. But what other explanation is there?? I did leave a note once asking her unit to please return the package she brought inside her home that clearly was not hers. They were large patio chairs and the two boxes were at least 6 feet long. They were pictured outside of her front door and then when I went to go look inside of the locked and secured building a couple hours later, they were not there. She took them.

When she saw the note I left outside of her building, she came over buzzing my bell and knocking like a lunatic. I did not answer and she left them outside.

This is the same pos I posted about months ago who turned up to her parking spot directly outside of our unit in the middle of the night. You tell me what this looks like.

I don't know what to do at this point. I already contacted the police about her hit and run and they did nothing. Nothing ever happened to her. I'm also pretty sure she is on the HOA board.

I have had packages misdelivered to me and I've driven miles away to get it to its rightful owner. I can't imagine just taking someone's property and thinking you will get away with it when you've already been called out for it and I know it's you because of the pictures Amazon provides for delivery??? It's at least 10 packages now.

Am I overreacting?? I really think I am just going to print out the first picture of her door and tape it to the building and ask her to please return our items.

Return damaged by customer.. What would you do?

I sell pillar candles. I have a repeat customer who wasn't happy with one of the shades of the most recent candle I sent her. Since she is a repeat customer, I decided to just issue a refund.

I received the candle today, opened it up, and there is a huge line down the entire side of it, which is clearly from her carelessly opening it with a razor blade.

These are extremely intricate candles with lots of layers, and I would have to remelt and remake the entire candle in order to sell it again.

It was a $45 candle and I'm not sure what to do. What would you do in this situation?

And I'm thinking 'bout all that you wanted, and I'm thinking 'bout how you never got it..

'Hit the ground now, middle of daytime

Same life, same world, at the same time

I'll jump too if that's what you wanna do

But you jumped too soon, and it all came true'

Why? Just why? So many people in this world and why Oliver?

And I can't listen to a single song without crying. All You Ever Wanted became my absolute favorite and I've played it probably 500 times since this, but I can't play it, or any of his music, without crying and it makes me so mad.

Got into my car today to run a bunch of errands and was excited to just turn it up as loud as I could, but I just had tears streaming down my face before going to the post office - one of six stops.

I had to turn it off. And I got so upset. Because why is this reality. Why can't I appreciate him the way I always did. Why will it always just end up in tears. And why will I never be able to smile listening to his music again..

I just shake my head and think about what a fucking waste of life and talent and a beautiful soul. I just don't get it.

Google messages.. will the old app still be accessible?

Hi! I know this has been asked probably a million times, but when Samsung messages are discontinued, will we still be able to open the app and access our old messages? Or will we be kicked out of it entirely?

I have had this phone for 3+ years now and I have lost so many closed loved ones and my dad since then. I have thousands and thousands of messages. I am so worried sick that they will be gone forever. I already used the Google messages app and it transferred absolutely nothing. It was just a completey new conversation.

I am dreading this so much.

Thank you!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your reply. I actually went to the Google messages app and I guess at some point (it came with the phone and I've not gone onto it since last year because I despised it) all text conversations transferred over, thankfully. A ton of contacts not showing up, but at least the conversations are there.

I worry about my previous phone, though, with a broken screen. My favorite and nicest phone ever. That one had the bulk of my texts with my dad and I never got it fixed because it was so expensive. I worry when/if i do one day get it fixed, the Samsung messages app will no longer be able to be accessed.

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and take it somewhere this week finally. It's been so painful because it holds so many memories. My aunt actually broke it in his driveway the last time I ever saw him, as we were leaving his place. I've been too scared over the heartache I would feel turning it on again and seeing all that I've lost. I have his phone but I will never ever be able to turn that one on.

Thank you for listening to me pour my heart out. I have far too many emotional attachments to things that in the end, don't really matter. It's the memories that do.

First time ever trying Nathan's

Yes, I am in bed. Yes, it is 3am. Yes, this is the worst picture ever 🌭

I am completely sober, just had a really bad weekend. Decided I would treat myself.

Mid 30s here. This is the best hot dog I have ever had in my life. It is so incredibly flavorful, tender, juicy, no tiny gristle pieces that I get in other dogs that freak me out.

I ordered the jumbo beef franks. When I looked at the package, I was like ??? They looked skinnier than normal dogs. Then I simmered them in water for 10ish minutes in a small pan and they plumped what seemed like double the size. Poured the water out, browned them a little on all sides.

I never knew a hot dog could be so good. I have ketchup and onions also on standby for the next two, but I could eat these completely plain on a bun.

I just had to write this. I just had to tell someone. I can't believe how long I have missed out.

Any recommendations on dogs that you think are better that I can get at grocery stores?

This person perfectly put into words how I've been feeling, how all of us have been feeling..

Death is nothing at all.

This helped me many years ago. It has stuck with me since. I know it's true, but it still hurts so bad. I know he wouldn't want anyone to cry over him. He would laugh at us, crack a joke, then say how grateful he was.

I've never felt such grief over someone I didn't know and didn't even follow like that. I've been crying all day and night, just unrelenting sobbing. Oliver was so pure and precious to me. He was snuffed out and taken from the world in an instant. I will never understand it.

I'm not good at goodbyes..
