I saw that there’s a piece of paperwork that you’re supposed to do stating the state/cleanliness of the place. My place was filthy upon moving in and I took my own pictures of course but the landlord didn’t do that on his part. If I move out does this benefit me at all in getting my deposit back?

I used to only eat twice a week before my pregnancy but everyone around me started pressuring me to eat for the baby. So I did and guilt ensued. Morning sickness worked great but now that it’s gone I b/p daily. I know it’s bad because I’m pregnant but I’m really struggling.

When I first moved in two weeks ago, there was only maybe five walking around in the kitchen now they’re everywhere and I found a nest in one of my boxes. I bought greenway but I’m not sure if it’s helping. I’m in Canada I don’t know what to do to get rid of them. Please help

ice cream is cold but a soft almost runny mashed potato consistency, French fries and other things won’t freeze but will be cold. How do I fix this

Hi, I just moved into a new place. First thing I noticed when I opened the freezer was a strong freezer burn smell. The freezer also has a loud whirring fan sound when I open it.

I put some stuff in the freezer first day being here, including water in an ice tray. The ice tray froze but today I’m noticing the ice cream is semi melted and most frozen foods defrosted.

What is the issue here?

I had a similar issue with the fridge part in my old place so I tried defrosting the freezer fans with a hairdryer. Hopefully it fixes it but let me know what the problem might be and what I can do to fix it.

Edit: the freezer is now colder but not at freezing temp, I put a cup of water in there and it hasn’t frozen over yet. I’ll check back later today and see if my defrosting attempt worked.

I’m not sure if they’re coming from things in my storage unit or if they were living in my apartment before I moved in. They are a lot smaller than the standard typical black ant you would see in your home or outside.

I haven’t seen them on any food but they seem to be crawling all over my paper towel rolls that were in storage.

What are these and how to get rid of them? Has anyone had them in their house before? I’ve only seen maybe 5 at most so far but they’re so tiny and hard to notice

Hi, I haven’t stored anything in there yet but when I open it up there is an overwhelming odor of freezer burn. Is it ok to store my food in there or should I clean it out? Will the food get freezer burn as well?

hi all, I’ve been living with my late friend’s grandma for 2 years. When I first moved in she was fine, had a tendency to ramble a little bit as old people do. She used to cook dinner every night when I first moved in. She also had a job but last year was forced to retire as her coworkers were saying she smells like pee. She’s worn diapers for a long time but I never noticed the home or her smelling like urine until around the time this incident happened, and yes I admit it was pretty bad.

Then I started noticing her rambling was starting to not make sense. Usually when she speaks to me I just let her say whatever is on her mind and listen since she doesn’t get much social interaction being retired. she would say things that were completely off topic from something she was saying 10 seconds ago, not even in a way where she’s changing the topic but just complete randomness???

More recently, I noticed human feces all over the bathroom floor with even a foot print outline in it…… a few months ago I woke up to the house full of smoke and she had burnt her eggs really badly. I woke her up and turned off the stove and she didn’t really seem concerned, didnt get up and didn’t even check the stove. Then another incident more recently, I woke up and noticed she was boiling eggs. I went out to run a few errands and 4 hours later the eggs were still boiling and the water was almost dry. I let her know her eggs were done and turned off the stove and she left them in the pot for 2 days. Today I went out again, and this time she left her food in the oven for 9 hours and yes it burnt. I said to her maybe you should set a timer so you don’t forget and she passive aggressively said “yea yea whatever”. Some days she remembers my boyfriend’s name and then the next she will forget it. I asked her to drive me somewhere 30 minutes away and she took 4 hours to get there, there wasn’t any traffic, she refuses to follow gps because she’s convinced it will get her lost???

I haven’t brought up my concerns to her because she’s either in denial or passive aggressive to me. I’m moving out because I’m expecting a baby and this isn’t a good environment to raise it in.

How can I get her help without knowing what doctor she sees? She hires a man to come mow her lawn and I reached out to him to let him know to check on her, but I’m not sure how much help I can provide for her moving forward. She doesn’t have any family to help her.

any advice on what to do moving forward? is this rental a scam if I had to remind them both of the form k AND the bylaws? this landlord had her daughter email me the forms because she “doesn’t know how”

Hi all, I went for a viewing last week for a renting a condo. I haven’t lived in a strata type placement so I’m unsure of the differences. I asked if she was the owner of the unit and she let me know it was her dad’s (who passed) and that she was renting it out due to different living circumstances.

First red flag was that the unit had a very vague description on its listing, there was a misspelling error, and that it had been posted for a while, maybe over a month? I also asked the building office if she was the owner (I only had her first name) and they said it wasn’t on file, but they said maybe the booklet hadn’t been updated.

Anyways when I got to the viewing there was damages to carpet, she let me know that if I replace the carpet she would reimburse me in the future. I’ve had a bad experience with empty promises from landlords in the past so I think I’ll pass on that. The unit seemed pretty unclean, there was urine in the toilet bowl with a strong smell of pee in the bathroom (from the toilet I’m guessing…?). I also noticed there was a cheap dollar store super glue on the bathroom counter, I think someone was trying to glue back some panels that had fallen off…??? There was a lot of garbages and bags on the kitchen counters, I guess someone was still working on cleaning up which doesn’t make sense since I’d assume you would have a place spotless for a viewing?

Im pregnant so I don’t want to spend too much of my own efforts deep cleaning this unit with harsh chemicals upon moving in but it looks like it might need it. We agreed on doing a final inspection upon moving in, paying deposit and receiving the keys. I’m hoping it will be cleaner better by then. I’m thinking of asking for a witness from the building office worker when finalizing the documents just in case this is a scam.

She was interested in me signing the papers together when I was there and she pulled out a folder up yellow stained rental agreement from her pocket. I was still a little skeptical about the situation and asked to email me the documents. She was talking about the forms she needed to send me and seemed unsure of what the forms were even called. The entire viewing she had a type of uncertainty to as if she hasn’t done a viewing before? Her attire wasn’t exactly what I would imagine for a landlord hosting a viewing either.

She also wasn’t sure about the costs of laundry which isn’t a big deal but I’ve had landlords at viewings in the past that were prepared and knew everything about the building.

She let me know today that she took the listing down and that she will send the papers soon. I’ve been checking in with her semi regularly for updates over the past few days and haven’t had any response until today.

I am still interested in renting as I think it’s a good area and price for me, I just want to make sure I am not being scammed or end up getting kicked out before the baby’s born.
