Please, help me find more bands like these

Hello. Over the past few weeks, I've found myself immersed in a search that is lately exhausting me, as I am looking for a very particular sound. It all started when I began to reevaluate Sunn O))), and from there, I discovered Nadja's early albums. Since those discoveries, I've found several excellent bands, but somehow they don't quite meet the requirements of what I’m looking for. I'll try to describe it:

  • I am looking for a sonic slowness that is glacial, as if making incredibly slow dark ambient but with doom and drone instrumentation.
  • The vocals should be clean, not guttural or harsh. For example, I immensely enjoyed "I Shall Die Here" by The Body, but the screaming repels me.
  • Corrupted also fascinated me musically, but it was all ruined when the vocalist started singing.
  • Bismuth is relatively close to what I want, but they only have two albums.
  • Nadja's early albums are almost exactly what I'm looking for, but their later albums are more melodic, with more conventional compositions.
  • I liked Jesu's "Heart Ache", although the vocals don't fascinate me. I would like something more whispered and ethereal or something totally instrumental.
  • Someone recommended Inoha when I mentioned my search for cleaner, ethereal vocals. It's not bad, but it's like listening to a heavy version of Lycia, and that's not what I'm looking for.
  • Albums that I have liked and that have come somewhat close to what I'm looking for: KTL's first album; "Unavailing" by Bismuth; "Let the Earth Be Silent" by Fvnerals; "Ceremony of Stillness" by A-Sun Amissa; "Weighing Souls with Sand" by The Angelic Process (even though it hardly resembles the sound I'm looking for at all, it's a wonderful album). And above all, my favorite album to come out of this entire search: "Touched" by Nadja.

Apologies for the wall of text and the phrasing. English is not my first language, and I am also tired from staying up late the past few days listening to records. Any help will be eternally appreciated.

[ipados] latest app version navigation is a nightmare [2026.25.1.632814 (AppStore)]

Since the latest updates which incorporated a Liquid Glass dock like approach with the shortcuts at the bottom, navigating Reddit has been quite difficult. The most glaring example: when I have a new notification in my messages tab, I click on it and the dock suddenly disappears and there’s no way to return to my main feed, I’m locked out in whatever reply I clicked on my notifications.

[Cartier Panthere] Summertime

It is quite sweltering today, leaving me inclined toward something beautifully svelte and airy. I remain utterly transfixed by the sheer slimness of the Panthère; it is such a delicate, yet remarkably flexible piece. I wish sub-36mm profiles were as ubiquitous as they once were. Modern pieces feel far too… extravagant for my taste, swelling larger by the minute and leaving me with very few options to expand the collection, with mainly vintage options only. I am perfectly content with my collection, however.

Anyway, I will fix me a drink, watch my cats, and wait for my wife to come home. Do have a splendid weekend, everyone!

[Looking for similar bands with this doom ambient sound] Slö Metal | Ambient Swim | Doom Metal Meditation

Stumbled upon this video after a Sunn O))) binge. I’m enthralled by the atmosphere. Could you recommend some instrumental doom ambient albums that are similar? Thanks in advance 🫡

Black & white & chrome | Male, 43yo

This is my most basic and essential EDC. On any given day, whether at work, on a day off, or at family gatherings, this is the constant. Everything else is a variable

* Maison Margiela’s S36 trifold wallet
* Persol’s PO3245S
* Cartier’s Panthere in medium size
* AirPods Pro 3 with Arc’s Pulse case
* Victorinox’s Huntsman
* Parker’s Jotter
* Le Labo’s Another 13 15ml
* iPhone 17 Pro Max with Apple’s silicon case

What’s the best SERIOUS let’s play of both games?

I’m in the mood of experiencing the story again, how we I’ve never watched their let’s p,ay before. Who would you recommend that takes the plot seriously and insightfully? Someone recommended me the one by jcksepticeye but he’s too chaotic and humorous for my taste. Thanks in advance.

I need help…

I can’t help myself but to correct people’s terrible use of the word “liminal”. It’s a very strong compulsion I have, I feel real violence inside me every time I see it being misinterpreted. You might think this is a jest but I’m being honest, sometimes it ruins my day! I just can’t let go

This is petty, I know, but need to vent about it

Does anyone else gets annoyed at how much Rick Rubin is trying to be Brian Eno? Yes, Rubin is a brilliant producer, but the way he has led himself, specially around the publication of his book, is very Eno coded and to my eyes feels so forced, so inauthentic.

Anyway, those are my two cents. Maybe I’m exaggerating.

Dear community, be 100% honest: should I keep these Persols as sunnies (pic 1) or convert them to reading glasses (pic 2; mockup)?

These have been discontinued for years and just recently acquired them. I really like their architecture.
