I painted a trans flag on my guitar

I play in a band called tricktheriddle and I painted a trans flag on the first guitar that I got that I still use. Needless to say its gotten a lot of positivity, however you feel about the flag itself, and so I wanted to share it here! As a trans woman on stage, I feel twice as powerful wearing this, and I hope it can inspire others to find and become their true selves. Life is a journey about discovering yourself, and everyone is on their own path. But remember you are never alone <3

trans witch and her witch punk band

Hi fellow witches! I’ve been on this sub for a little while now and its my absolute favorite blend of all things. So I wanted to formally introduce my witchcraft, which is sonic in nature but also includes talismans that I paint. I cast spells on stage with my band tricktheriddle (me pictured above) and it has freed me in all the ways that i have previously felt trapped. Once I understood my purpose, it became very clear that I needed to be up there casting spells and creating a coven filled with awesome queer and alt and unique individuals who also needing freeing. I hope everyone can find their witchcraft and free themselves from all the expectations society piles on us in this very turbulent time <3

my band covered a Green Day song for a compilation CD

I know some feel that Green day isn't 'punk enough' or w.e. the vibe is but we definitely made the song our own and its quite different than the original. we covered boulevard of broken dreams for Coffin Curse's green day compilation CD, and i think its definitely got an edge that the original trades for more a pop/polished sound. Id love to know how yall feel about it! the part shared here is the guitar solo. here's a link to stream it in case you wanna hear the whole thing:

https://open.spotify.com/track/5WiwJO27xzExQorE1V6Ixx?si=62189b993943401f

p.s. yes the outfit is very tongue in cheek, this song inspired me when i was young to be in a band and play music so the music video is paying homage to that. <3

Trans people PSA

Hi there!

I’ve been seeing a lot of trans folx get down on themselves for transitioning too “late” or not “early” enough and I wanna tell you: there is no late or early. You transition when you transition and when you know it’s right. The fact that you transition at all is an amazing and beautiful thing that cannot be understated and you are so valid for choosing to be true to yourself.

You only have one life and the fact that you are discovering that you can alter your body and discover deeper truths about yourself is the most special and powerful thing you can do. You only get one shot, so make the most of it! Don’t compare your journey to others, everyone has a different hand they are dealt, the only thing you can do is play your cards the best you can. If you’re trans, I wanna give you a hug, and say to you that you are so strong and you are seen, and you are actually one of a kind

also i just noticed its weekly art/creator promo time and we are a trans woman fronted witch punk band called tricktheriddle. we have music everywhere and at tricktheriddle.com join our coven we have a great community and a new album that just came out <3

my band did an official cover of boulevard of broken dreams!

this song is one of the reasons i decided to pursue being in a band and make music, we filmed a music video that i plan on releasing soon! but this song inspired me in so many ways, and i wanted to share it yall and see what you think. its very different than the original, because to me thats the point of a cover and the original needs to improving, so understand that the changes were very intentional! thanks for listening if you do and keep dreaming <3

Chick fil a

I know there’s like a yearly post about chick fil a, but I wanted to see if there were any updates regarding their awfulness and if I should continue to avoid eating there. From what I’ve read, they now donate privately to certain executive places that are very anti-queer and anti-body autonomy rather than larger traceable agencies.

Anyone have the latest tea? They opened up one near where I get my laser done and it feels like a challenge every time I walk passed. Just curious what the current discourse is, if any

transwoman who fronts a witchpunk band

hello! i am new to this subreddit, but already love it and feel at home here. some of my posts have been getting attention on other socials, and a good chunk of it has been negative. i understand it comes with the territory, but i wanted to spend some energy here with like minded people and surround myself with some positivity, if those feel so inclined. we just put out an album and things have been positive, but its been hard reading some of the comments. my band is called tricktheriddle, if anyone feels like checking us out on whatever platform you listen. the band is my everything, and the fact that it is drawing negativity from others is at odds with everything in me. anyway, thanks for making such a great space and making those feel safe and that there is in fact hope for community. together we are strongest <3

Witchpunk band headlining a goth club in Los Angeles aug 8th!

My band tricktheriddle is finally headlining our favorite goth club, Bar Sinister, in West Hollywood aug 8th! Here are some pics of my band, who makes witchpunk music. To me, goth clubs are my favorite alternative spaces.

Has anyone here been to Bar Sinister, or heard of it? Looking for more goth clubs like it but havent found any - its pretty special. Anyway, we are very excited to be headlining and wanted to share our dark news with everyone!

Witchpunk band

Hi folkpunk! I'm a transwoman witch, and Ive been making music with my band for a while, creating what I call witchpunk, a style of dark punk rock that has its roots in folk punk. I wanted to get your thoughts, as I believe this can add to the greater canon of folk punk music. The style uses violins and mandolins, and folk style classical guitar - I'd love to hear your thoughts and if its something you consider to be folk punk at heart, or just perhaps borrowing the aesthetic.

Here is a music video i made in the woods some time ago in the style of found footage horror. We are called tricktheriddle on all platforms, and I appreciate you checking us out, if you do! Thanks and keeping folking on ❤️

Witchpunk band with a trans witch singer!

Hi fellow witches! I've been lurking here for a bit and wanted to finally introduce myself for pride month!

My name is Lukretia, and I am a trans witch who fronts a self described 'witchpunk' band called tricktheriddle! I write all the music, sing and play guitar, and create all the art and manage the band. We have our big album coming out July 3rd, a really cute community discord which acts as our coven, and songs on all platforms! I am really big about authenticity and being true to one’s self, and this reddit has helped me feel less alone. Here is a link to our music on Spotify, a place I don't like in the least bit but unfortunately is the main thing that is looked at from an industry standard.

https://open.spotify.com/artist/6dnmQ4udIe9k0YyX03PWSp?si=hBxpboPSTkSssmN9279X-g

If you have a moment or the interest, I'd love if you checked out some of our music and joined our
coven! We also have horror found-footage themed music videos on youtube and our website, which I’ll link below.

As a transwoman living in America, I find it more important than ever for us to stick together and hold each other up with love and support. Thank you for energy and keep casting spells ❤️
