Exceeded expectations.

Served neat on the hood of a $500 car.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't great. But at 1/10 the price of things like Eagle, this isn't 1/10 the whiskey.

Should I use an F150 or buy something better?

I got this for essentially free with no strings attached. I can fix and sell it (probably for $1500) or keep it. 2001 F150 5.4 with a miss fire.

It already has a 2-3 suspension lift. I see I can slap on another 2inch body lift for cheap. Used 33-35 tires, remove the bed, chop the front bumper, and maybe diy some skid plates and be in it $1000?

But it isn't what I want. I was thinking fuel efficient and small for longer distance trips, but this is literally free. Yet, just cause it's free doesn't mean I have to keep it.

Thoughts?

AWD car recommendations?

Took the Elantra to the Gambler 500 and am hooked. I used to off-road a truck on 33's back in the day and have been wanting to get back into the hobby, but I think the battlecar idea will better suit my needs!

Any AWD car suggestions besides Subaru? Nothing German either. Low budget.

I'm thinking a Jaguar X Type would be hilarious. Suzuki SX4 is another option. (dream would be Suzuki X90 but they're an expensive cult classic, plus I know it's technically considered a truck).

Open to any and all suggestions! Thanks!

$1000 AWD off road CAR (not Subaru or Audi)

Took my Elantra to the Gambler 500 and I'm hooked, just don't want to actually trash it long term.

Anything odd that I'm missing? Everyone has a Subaru, so if like something more unique that isn't Euro.

Oddities I can think of are the Ford 500 and Jaguar X Type (aka AWD Taurus/Mondeo). What else am I missing?

Backstory, I was dead set on getting back into wheeling and was looking at SUV ideas but at this point I'm sold on the car wheeling culture. All the technical challenges with less stress. No worries about trying to maneuver a 22inch boulder and risk snapping an axle... All the fun but on a 5 inch rock that I legit can move if it really is too risky.

Do the Police Arrest for Trespassing in Spokane?

Basically I'm not going to bother calling the cops if all they're going to do is have a nice casual chat with the trespasser... So just curious with others experience.

(Tweakers occasionally have the audacity to come into the yard or right up on to the porch and just start hanging out, eating, doing drugs, you name it. Today's finest example has been here before and used the same excuse for trespassing as last time. I'm tired of the entitlement but also don't want to waste resources calling the police if they'll just give them more reassurance that they can do whatever they want).

Anything Unique or Fun I should do with my (true) Level 5 walls?

I did my own drywall and am sanding the primer now and it legit is looking like glass at 220, and I can even take it to 300 or 400. I know most paint and sheen recommendations are based off of generic drywall in a spec home for high wear situations with like kids and pets, and none of that applies to me.

I'm thinking of spraying perfect high gloss in the bathroom like in the photo example. Maybe roll on a flat or matte in the bedroom with a small mohair roller? Anything fun or luxurious or unique I can do in my kitchen?

Thanks!

What sheen for my (flawless) Level 5 Drywall?

I am wrapping up drywall, and I did a true Level 5. Absolutely flawless. Sanding down the primer with 220 and I can even take it to 300+ and make it look like glass. So paint:

I'm leaning towards matte for the ceiling. Should I do matte on the walls? Worries about food splashes and such leaving stains.

Also debating on going with gloss, as in spreading an almost automotive gloss (I don't care if that's not the conventional spec home approach). Is that also too much and will sho wear quickly from scuffs and such white trying to keep it clean?

Thanks!

Would a 6.5 Subwoofer work well in that spot?

2006 Pontiac G6 with factory amp and 8 speaker system.

That factory 6.5 speaker is advertised as a "subwoofer", so would dropping in that Skar 6.5 subwoofer work well sound wise?

(That 6.5 is specifically 2 Ohm and really only outputs bass, so my options are limited. I even tried a factory used one and that is more broken than what I had)

Before and After DIY (1 Bedroom Apt)

DIY low budget. Used stove, dishwasher, and fridge from marketplace.

I'm super happy with being able to rip up the glued down sheet vinyl floor and actually save the hardwood.

I'm also surprised how well my dishwasher retrofit turned out.

I swear HD has the worst marketing team...

I've gotten probably a dozen emails about this "event".

You can literally test ride a Harley any time a dealership is physically open,so how am I "running out of time"? No discounts, no promotions, nothing.

Anyone else feel this is kind of, cringe or something?

Harley really needs to invest in -proper- marketing.

(Don't get me wrong, when the HD Truck comes in to town, *that* is an event and I go every year)

Dealing with an absolute beater car that we keep somewhere as a spare workhorse around town. Car is worth $600 and the tires are done done and then some.

Winter just ended so snow tires (mounted on rims) can be had for CHEAP.

So excessive wear and shortened lifespan doesn't matter as it's ~$150 and the car gets driven 500-1000mi a year. Plus it can blow the motor any day anyways.

I saw mention of inferior stopping but I mean, it's a 26 year old beater so the brake fluid is probably loaded with moisture, the hoses are swelling, master cyl may be leaking through, and so on. So probably irrelevant.

Besides parking in the shade so the tires don't dry rot quickly and not tailgating other cars, anything else?

(Yes, I know I'm supposed to put brand new $700 tires on the $600 car or as a responsible blue collar worker I probably just need to buy a brand new $50k vehicle to haul trash to the dump ha ha)

I've lived in other cities and towing companies seem to operate like a mob. Just looking for a company that tows vehicles and charges a person a reasonable fee for it.

In short, I'm tired of people blocking my driveway and I need to have a company to call the next time it happens.

Asking about the value as I offered to trade my truck for this.

My truck is not worth $8k. But I also don't *feel* this car is either... But I actually don't know.

So just asking for a second opinion, cause if this is what it's actually worth... I'll carry on. Don't want to "low ball" someone if I don't know what I'm doing.

Thank you!
