When I hear the song Double Vision by Foreigner, I get offended. That's offensive!

It's a corny thing I say to people to own my condition and lean into it and break tension, ice, weirdness that people may or may not have.

Do y'all have unique or funny things you say to get people comfortable with the fact that you have one eye? Let's hear em!

Why do ovens have a self cleaning feature if it is generally not recommended and tends to cause house fires?

I recommended somebody do this and got roasted in the comments. Apparently I was lucky enough for that feature to actually clean my oven and not set my house on fire. I researched it a bit and all it seems to do is cause house fires, and it's not recommended. Why is this even a feature on household ovens? Seems like it would be a major legal liability to manufacturers to.even ship units with this feature.

What areas have the highest concentration of bars within walking distance?

We wanna do a on-foot bar crawl to hit as many bars as possible as quickly as possible. Dive bars preferred but we'll do classy places too. What do you recommend? And what bars to hit?

Does anyone have any further info or images of the "Zishen Nation", from the breakaway Chinese "Emperor" Li Guangchang from the 1980's?

I can find very little about this online, and the Wikipedia article is so fascinating. Maybe someone searching in Chinese will be able to find more information.

Li Guangchang was a self-declared Chinese emperor and leader of a salvationist sect. He ruled a small territory in Cangnan County, called the "Zishen Nation" (子申国), from 1981 to 1986 in de facto independence from China. His reign was eventually brought to an end by Chinese security forces who captured him and dismantled his statelet as well as his sect.

He isn't the first guy to claim Emperor of China, but he is unique in that he is recent, he had a remarkably substantial following, controlled a suprising amount of territory and military might for a considerable amount of time while the PRC was unquestionably in firm control of the country, and even issued his own currency. The wikipedia article says he created a state flag featuring a double planet in black, white, yellow, blue, vermillion, as well as a war flag, as well as military uniforms.

I'd love to see any images of those flags and/or that currency or their military uniforms, or really any photos or further reading on the regime. I can't even find a reliable photo of him! Can anyone, maybe someone searching in Chinese, possibly help? This history needs to be better documented.

She's vying to be the new crazy painted car mascot of Prescott, AZ. Some might recall the NASA Hoax truck that used to roam our streets. The owner passed away not too long ago. I kinda miss seeing him around.
