The compilation Sony wouldn't release... but SORNY would.

SORNY Music is planning to release a new album full of Michael Jackson B-sides, demos, and rarities. 🤫

To avoid any copyright or registration nightmares, they are only using tracks that have already been officially scattered across various releases over the years. (And yes, somehow Sorny's legal department actually managed to clear the rights for the unreleased 'Dangerous Bonus Cuts' tracklist... don't ask how, just accept the miracle).

They gave us a list of 37 songs, but since Sorny is too cheap to risk printing a double album, we need to cut the list ALMOST IN HALF to fit everything onto a single disc. 💀

(Note: Sorny deeply respects the users who couldn't give a single crap about any of this).
(And yes, Sorny wasn't allowed to include the full name of M*nkey Business because they were told it was offensive. Corporate censorship, you know the deal).

Help SORNY build the ultimate single-disc tracklist:

From Thriller

  • For All Time - Thriller 25
  • Carousel - Thriller 40
  • Got the Hots - Thriller 40
  • She's Trouble - Thriller 40
  • Who do you know? - Thriller 40
  • Someone in the Dark - Thriller SE

From Bad

  • I'm so Blue - Bad 25
  • Price of Fame - Bad 25
  • Song Groove - Bad 25
  • Speed Damon - Bad 25

From Dangerous

  • Serious Effect - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • Happy Birthday Lisa - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • If You Don't Love Me - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • Serious Effect - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • She Got It - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • Work That Body - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)
  • Serious Effect - Dangerous (Bonus Cuts)

From Ultimate

  • Beautiful Girl - The Ultimate Collection
  • Cheater - The Ultimate Collection
  • Fall Again - The Ultimate Collection
  • In the Back - The Ultimate Collection
  • M*nkey Business - The Ultimate Collection
  • On the Line - The Ultimate Collection
  • Scared of the Moon - The Ultimate Collection
  • Someone Put your Hand Out - The Ultimate Collection
  • Sunset Driver - The Ultimate Collection
  • We've had Enough - The Ultimate Collection

From "Others"

  • Shout - Cry (Single)
  • Streetwalker - Cry (Single)
  • Mind is the Magic - The Secret Gallery

Curious

It's really striking how well-crafted posts, with good information, facts, invitations to participate, etc., get practically no engagement. But if someone posts a photo, or asks questions like "What's your favorite Spiceworld song?", they get tons of comments. Curious, that's all.

Imagining a future release: The definitive Michael Jackson RARITIES album (only released tracks)

https://preview.redd.it/a1x3tcu6qwah1.jpg?width=3057&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d4de255b1723003055720a59d7e0ce6962854e3

Hi everyone!
If you had to create an 80-minute compilation CD using only OFFICIAL RARITIES from Michael Jackson (B-sides, soundtracks, demos, etc.), what would your tracklist look like?

That is, songs included on promotional discs, limited editions or releases for certain countries, soundtracks, compilations, albums by other artists, etc., but that WERE NOT INCLUDED on the standard editions of his studio albums.

Share your opening and closing tracks!

The image is just an example, although the album must be limited to 80 MINUTES, and the songs must have been OFFICIALLY RELEASED previously; for example, "All in Your Name" was not.

One CD, 80 Minutes: Build Your Ultimate MJ Rarities Album

Solo entra material lanzado oficialmente. Quedan excluidas las canciones que se estrenaron primero en Michael o Xscape.

¿Cuál sería tu tema de apertura y tu tema de cierre?

Xperia Play vs. PSP Go

Hi everyone.

Back in 2012 or 2013, I bought a used Xperia Play and it worked fine for several months. Although I always unfolded the screen carefully, the flex cable eventually failed, I think like it did for most people. I replaced it, and while that problem was solved, the screen would glitch when entering camera mode; I can't remember if it was an image or software issue.

My question is: in your experience, does the PSP Go have the same flex cable problems as the Xperia Play, or is it less common?

Thanks.

What if Sims memories were shared with players instead of Facebook friends?

https://preview.redd.it/nq1oewtdd9ah1.png?width=1344&format=png&auto=webp&s=8dbc867a95daaa48410928d59d42d16a93d0c68a

Maybe this is just nostalgia talking, but I kind of miss the old Memories system from The Sims 3.

Not necessarily the Facebook integration itself. Looking back, posting Sims updates to the feeds of friends and family who probably didn't play the game wasn't very useful. But I liked the idea of the game automatically capturing interesting moments and giving you the option to share them.

It makes me wonder if a modern version could work as a mod. Instead of posting to Facebook or Twitter, it could share selected in-game events to a community of Sims players on Reddit, Discord, or a dedicated website. Things like first kisses, weddings, graduations, promotions, unexpected deaths, funny glitches, or whatever memorable moment happened in your save (and why not, The Sims 2 and Sims 4 too)

Part of the fun would be seeing what other players are experiencing in their worlds in real time. It could be a nice mix of storytelling and social features without turning the game into a live service.

I'd genuinely use something like that. Does anything similar already exist?

The image is for illustrative purposes only, as they are not even shown in my Facebook posts from 2011.

POLL FINISHED!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll.

The most popular answer was "Rights or legal issues", and I have to say that's probably the explanation I find most convincing as well.

My reasoning is fairly simple: if there were no legal or ownership issues to sort out, I would have expected at least some of the known unreleased tracks to appear on streaming platforms by now. A digital release would require far less investment than a physical product and could still generate additional revenue from material that already exists.

For that reason, I'm less convinced by the idea that the songs remain unreleased because one or more members simply don't like them. The group has officially released demos, B-sides and archive material before, including tracks that were arguably less polished than some of the leaked songs fans are familiar with.

For example, "Feed Your Love" was eventually released as part of the 25th anniversary edition. People may have different opinions about the song, but its release suggests that artistic perfection is not necessarily a requirement for archival material to be made available.

Of course, none of us know what is happening behind the scenes, but if I had to choose one explanation, legal or rights-related complications would still be my strongest guess.

POLL: Why haven't known unreleased Spice Girls songs even been released on streaming?

Excluding brand-new music, rumored songs we've never heard, demos in poor quality, or unfinished recordings.

The question referst to tracks that fans know exist through leaks and are believed to be largely completed, yet haven't even been released digitally on streaming platforms, which would require far less investment than a physical release.

What's your best guess?

Nice try, Phoenix Chi. 👀

The Ultimate Collection: a 'take this and leave me alone' release?

https://preview.redd.it/5brzgih8wc8h1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=70e8a339a90e6c78bd23ede3d655d55722466992

Am I the only one who feels a bit conflicted about The Ultimate Collection?

On one hand, I think it's probably the only official Michael Jackson compilation released during his lifetime that contained previously unreleased material, which makes it pretty special.

On the other hand, I can't help thinking about those comments he made during the Sony dispute, where he basically described the remaining album he owed them as "a box set with a couple of songs." Considering that Number Ones and The Ultimate Collection eventually became part of fulfilling those obligations, it sometimes feels like fans ended up buying a project he viewed mostly as a contractual requirement.

I understand his frustration with Sony, but it still makes me a little sad because the people paying for those releases were the fans, not the executives he was fighting with. What do you think?

Problem with the Categories Lite plugin on PSP Go with ARK 4

Hey everyone.

I have a PSP Go with ARK 4.20.69 r206 on 6.61, and the games are separated into folders named CAT_01PSP (PlayStation Portable), CAT_02minis, CAT_03PlayStation, CAT_04PCEngine, and CAT_05NEOGEO. The categories_lite.prx file displayed them correctly:

  • PSP (PlayStation Portable)
  • minis
  • PlayStation
  • PCEngine
  • NEOGEO

But the settings were reset, and no matter how many steps I've tried, I can't get it to work.

Thanks.

Improve acceptance

I humbly believe that a discreet re-release of this kind would rectify what Sony had done with this album, and this production would be remembered more favorably.

What are your thoughts on these debut solo albums from former boy band members?

https://preview.redd.it/lz7tv9dbh57h1.png?width=1254&format=png&auto=webp&s=c5d7eda57437ee4b1e3e89337fdf658d87c94bf3

I've been revisiting some debut solo albums by former boy band members and was curious to hear what other people think about them.

My personal take:

Justin Timberlake – Justified: It's an easy listen and has a couple of genuinely great tracks, but it's not really my favorite style. In my opinion, he improved significantly on his second album.

JC Chasez – Schizophrenic: The single "All Day Long I Dream About Sex" was good. I've always felt that if the rest of the album had leaned more in that direction, the outcome might have been very different. As a whole, though, I've never really understood what he was trying to achieve.

Abs – Abstract Theory: To me, this felt like a natural evolution of what he was doing with Five. I think it deserved a lot more recognition than it got. Also, he worked with Xenomania, who are basically pop production royalty in my book.

Nick Carter – Now or Never: It feels like he put on a rock-star costume and even tried to sing differently from how he did in Backstreet Boys. To me, it comes across as a bit manufactured, more like a carefully staged image than a genuine artistic direction.

What do you think of these albums? Were any of them underrated or overrated? Are there other solo projects from former boy band members that you think deserve more attention?
