MDA in his HOF speech: "My philosophy had to change to maximize this guy, James Harden... he's one of the most skilled players I have ever coached and I appreciate the trust he gave me."
streamable.comAnyone else think Concord Village has way too much surface-level parking?
No disrespect to the lovely people of Concord Village (I love passing by the little dog run you guys have on Jay St), but the land use here is really terrible. The High St subway entrance is practically on the property, yet half of the land here is dedicated for surface-level parking. People walking to the subway from High St & Pearl St have to detour around two parking lots just to get to the entrance.
Do you guys think this area will ever be redeveloped? This area of DTBK also really needs more restaurant/food options.
Brooklyn dolby/barco big theater - row 3
Is row 3 too close for the Brooklyn Drafthouse with the dolby/barco big screen theater?
Upgraded bike lanes in Dumbo
Seems like these sprung up pretty recently
How was the Central Park watch party?
To those that attended, how was your experience like? Was it a hassle to enter? How packed was it? Were the screens and audio any good? Please share some pics/videos! Curious about y'all's experience!
I watched at Hudson Yards and it was hella packed, but the vibes were amazing.

Increased police presence along Fulton Mall & City Point?
I was walking through Fulton Street today and City Point and noticed a lot more police officers positioned throughout the street. Not complaining or anything, just curious if a new program started. Hopefully the QOL on this street improves
For the non-ticketed public firework viewing zones, are umbrellas restricted?
The site (https://july4.events.nyc) says umbrellas are prohibited, but it's not clear if this only applies to the ticketed zones at Brooklyn Bridge Park or to the public viewing zones on FDR. Given the forecast for a potential wash out, does anyone know if this umbrella restriction also applies to FDR?
Hot take but the Brooklyn Bridge Park bike lane should be moved to the street
The bike lane in the park has so many blind spots with the curves, and in many areas, the pedestrian space isn't wide enough, so people end up just walking in the bike lane. Doesn't make it safe for bikers or people. Dogs also can't access the trees because it borders the bike lane. Imo, the bike lane should be moved to Furman St. Anyone else agree?
Some underrated tips for NYNJ Stadium (and maybe other cities too)
- Aim to get to the stadium ~3 hrs before kick-off to go around the fan fest stuff. None of the lines are truly that worth waiting for, but the Bank of America booth was giving out free world cup themed bracelets. However, the line pregame was super long. The fan fest stuff is also open post-game for 2 hours in which the lines are a bit shorter then (sadly, my experience was cut short after the Norway/Senegal game due to the rain).
- The Coke match day souvenirs cups are $6, but you really don't need to wait in the long line for them. A ton of people end up leaving theirs behind in their seats after the game, so if you want a free Coke cup, just walk scout through section post-game.
- Make your way towards the stadium ~90 mins before kick-off if you want time to get food as well but find your section first. Some of the staff/volunteers were really bad at pointing me the right way towards my section and the signage was not the best. I kid you not, it took me like 30 mins to find my section (221A) partly because the staff kept giving me wrong directions. So find your section first and just get food near your section.
- The middle floor was insanely crowded and the lines for food were really long. The upper sections had relatively shorter lines for food.
- Definitely want to be in your seats at least 20 mins before kick-off for the intro and anthems.
- Halftime is about 15 mins, so keep that in mind if you want to grab food but don't want to miss when the match resumes.
Can Fox please stop talking over the intros?
Why do we need the pregame commentary overlapping the team intros? I want to hear the stadium sounds uninterrupted, not the annoying Fox analysts speaking over Alan Parsons Project. Completely ruins the moment.
Fios outage?
Anyone else experiencing this Fios Internet outage since around midnight today?
World Cup FS1 only 720p?
Is there really no 1080p for the World Cup on FS1? I understand there's the 4K add-on, but not even 1080p is available without it?
Donovan Mitchell speaks highly of James Harden: "This man changed the game of basketball ... in ways we have never seen before. We live in such a ring-dominant culture that we were willing to write a guy off, a guy that has transcended basketball. 75 years, no one has done what he does."
streamable.comLIRR between Atlantic Terminal and Nostrand Av
First time riding the LIRR. Is it normal for the power to cycle in and out multiple times and the train to crawl at 5 mph in the tunnel here?
Also, any chance the new rolling stock will replace the Atlantic-Jamaica shuttle stock?
On another note - Atlantic Terminal needs some love and care by the city. For the main train station of Brooklyn, the exterior looks like a shack with trash and loiterers around.
