Moving to Japan through SSW program

Hi y'all! I'm 28F from India. I have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in social media marketing.

I came across the SSW programme a few weeks ago and I'm looking to learn more about it and hopefully find some other women to apply alongside.

I'm planning to apply for the Japan SSW programme under Food Manufacturing through self application. I haven't started preparing for the language or skill test yet, so I'm basically starting from scratch.

If you're also a woman planning to apply and are in the same boat, it would be nice to connect and figure things out together. 😊

How to get skilled worker visa without any prior experience?

I'm a 28F trying to switch from digital/social media marketing into a skilled trade, but I've got zero experience in it.

My qualifications: Bcom + B.Lib, 4+ years of work experience in Digital/ social media marketing for global SaaS/ Tech and Education brands.

Language: Fluent in English, Hindi, Korean B2

Only Germany's Ausbildung and Japan's SSW visa (Specialised skilled worker visa) seem like possible foot-in-the-door options for hands-on training through apprenticeship, as per my research. Could there be more options i might not be aware of....I dunno.

I'm looking to switch cos I just can't imagine myself sitting behind a desk staring at a screen for the next 40 years. I'd rather learn proper transferable hands-on skill and work somewhere that actually values it.

At the same time, work-life balance does matter to me, so I'm trying to think long term instead of just jumping into anything.

Is Japan's SSW route a viable option? Or is there some completely different program or even another country I should be looking at for someone starting from scratch? I'm open to suggestions.

Looking for Indians applying for Ausbildung

I'm looking to connect with men and women, especially women who are serious about applying for Ausbildung in Germany, especially those going into fields other than nursing or IT, like trades or other hands-on careers.

If you know any good WhatsApp/ Instagram groups or communities for this, let me know!

Anyone doing Ausbildung in Germany?

What's it been like for you? What kind of work would you recommend getting into?

I'm thinking of going into the trades, but I honestly can't decide which one to aim for. Would love to hear your experiences or any suggestions.

28F with AuDHD, looking for seasonal work abroad.

I'm 28F from India with AuDHD. I finally escaped the corporate hellhole, and even though I have enough skills to make a living doing remote desk work, genuinely don't want to spend the rest of my life staring at a screen. My background is in marketing btw.

I just want to go all in once while I'm still physically able to. I'm open to seasonal jobs, farm work, hospitality, FIFO, trades, or really anything that covers roof over my head and meals & stipend while letting me experience a different way of living.

For one if you're wondering why not do trades in my country, the poor labour conditions and laws of protection, bureaucracy and what not.

The problem is, this isn't a normal path where I'm from so I'm not sure how to go about this alone. The UK and Australian Working Holiday Visa is a ballot for Indians, and with our currency exchange rate, I can't afford to keep throwing money at applications hoping one sticks. Digital Nomad requires a huge amount in my bank statement as well. I'm trying to skip middle east, I've heard they frisk your passport lol

I'm basically looking for people who've been in a similar place. Did you find another route? Seasonal work in another country? A visa pathway I'm overlooking? I'm just throwing my shots, hoping one lands.

Would really appreciate any suggestions or hearing from people who've made this kind of leap.

I'm easy going and quite fun to be around. I don't have issues being around coworkers, people facing jobs would be a problem tho.

Remote marketers, how did you start networking?

Over the years working in digital marketing, I've realized networking is probably the only way to consistently get gigs if you're working fully remote.

I've got experience with social media marketing and content marketing through freelance work across different niches, but I've always worked solo, never really as part of a team.

So I'm curious, how did y'all find people to network with when you were just starting out, especially if you were doing everything remotely? I'm looking for online ways to build genuine connections. What worked for you?

How do I stop Reddit from showing results based on my location?

Whenever I search something on Reddit, I keep getting results that seem to be based on my location. I'd rather see posts and discussions from everywhere, not just people near me.

Is there a setting I can change to stop location-based results? Or is there a better way to search Reddit so I get a wider range of answers instead of local ones?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Is applying for an Ausbildung at 30 as a non-EU career changer still realistic?

I'm curious about the success rate for someone applying for an Ausbildung around the age of 30 after completing a bachelor's degree and having 3+ years of work experience.

I've read that some employers can be hesitant because they assume non-EU applicants are mainly trying to get into the EU or eventually get a passport. That's honestly not my reason.

My goal is to gain proper hands-on training while studying in a field that genuinely needs skilled workers, without the financial burden of paying for everything myself. I'm also looking to leave the corporate world and move into archives or as an information specialist.

For those who've gone through the process or know people who have, would you still recommend applying in this situation? Do employers really see career changers in their 30s negatively, or is having a clear reason for switching enough? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences or advice.

Experienced female solo seasonal worker and traveler

I'm looking to connect with any experienced seasonal workers and travelers especially from India or SE Asian countries.

It would be great if you have experience applying for and getting seasonal work visas directly from India, especially female solo travelers.

I'm exploring this path myself and would love to connect with someone who has already gone through the process or has done solid research on it. If there's a possibility of finding a travel/work partner for the journey, that would be great too.

I'm particularly interested in temporary seasonal work permits and direct-hire opportunities rather than ballot-based systems.

If you have experience, knowledge, or useful resources on this topic, please comment below or send me a message. I'd really appreciate connecting with others in this niche.
