The level of credit-score misinformation on this sub is honestly hilarious. 🤡
A lot of people here are absolute novices, probably because Slice’s underwriting is pretty lenient and for many of them, this is literally their first credit card.
Getting a card is easy. Understanding how a credit profile works? Apparently, not so much.
Every few months you’ll see someone posting:
«“I didn’t do anything, why did my CIBIL drop by 5–10 points?”»
Brother, your credit history is barely old enough to have a personality. 💀
A new credit profile is naturally going to fluctuate more. A mature credit profile is generally much more stable. You don’t build a solid credit history in 3 months and then expect the score to behave like someone with 5–10 years of credit history. Give it time building a mature profile takes years.
Then there’s another category: people checking their Experian score, seeing a sudden jump, and making a post about how their “credit score” has increased.
🤡
Experian changed its scoring methodology. The factors that were being weighted one way earlier are now being weighted differently, which is why a lot of people saw a sudden increase in their Experian scores.
And then we have the people who somehow think “credit score = CIBIL.”
No. India has four credit bureaus/CICs—CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark.
And CIBIL is the oldest and is still the one most commonly referenced by banks and lenders.
So please, before making a post because your score moved by 7 points or because Experian suddenly gave you 30 extra points, spend 10 minutes understanding how credit scoring actually works. 😭
The confidence-to-knowledge ratio on this sub is genuinely impressive. Kid:)
