Why is Gemini Air lease required for Hulu/Disney+ Promo?

My building recently got Verizon Fios installed and I always wanted to have fiber internet since I was a kid so of course my wife and I switched from Spectrum. But the Fios TV service was WAY overpriced. So I was looking for an alternative. A family member has DTV stream so I was willing to try it.

I signed up for the Choice plan so I could still get MSG (Let’s go Rangers). In the sign up process it said that Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ are all included. I thought that was a nice perk as I had Hulu and Disney+ included with Spectrum. But after trying to look for an activation link of sorts, I found out that a Gemini Air lease is required. Why is that? Is there any way of avoiding it and still getting Hulu and Disney+?

3y female cat recently started peeing on soft things

We have had our 3 year old female cat for about 8 months and she is the sweetest! But very recently we noticed a strong smell of urine coming from different parts of the apartment. After investigating, it turns out that she has started to be on soft things: her cat bed that she never uses, our bathroom’s bath mat, and most recently, our guest bed. We put a spare clean topper and comforter on the bed, and then took the urine soaked mattress topper out to the garbage. When we came back in, I immediately noticed the strong smell of urine again and sure enough, she peed on the bed while we stepped out.

Some context:

- we recently came back from a week-long cruise on 8/2 and we had a friend check in on her twice a day while we were gone. They became friends!

- her litter box is cleaned regularly but I have noticed a decrease in the amount of urine in it—now I know why.

- she does have attachment issues. When I leave in the morning she cries for me for about half an hour. When we both leave, we can hear her cry as we walk to the elevator (and it breaks our heart every time!). We got a Furbo camera that we used when we were a way to keep an eye on her. She often cried at all hours of the day and night.

- edit: she is spayed

I’m not sure if this is a medical issue, or her just being spiteful. Any advice is appreciated!

B/D Brooklyn-Bound Train Delays Every Morning

Anyone know why Brooklyn-bound B/D trains always have delays between Grand and Dekalb every morning between 6:30-7:15? Every morning the train will get stuck either on the bridge, or tunnel. Every few minutes it’ll move like 200ft turn stop because of “congestion up ahead”. This is every day for at least the past month since I started having to take an earlier train. When I don’t have to take an early train, I’ll usually be about an hour behind - and there’s roughly no trouble. It’s only with the “before rush hour” trains that give issues.

Authorized User Card Switch Question

My wife currently has one of my credit cards as an authorized user: my Amex BCE. About 2.5 years ago I’ve got the Amex gold card and don’t put a lot of spend on the BCE card anymore outside of online purchases.

If I remove my wife from the BCE card but then immediately add her to my gold card, will that have any effect on her credit? We are both very proud of our scores and the last thing I want to happen is for hers to dip. Before anyone asks, she doesn’t want to have both cards because she doesn’t want too many cards in her wallet.

Thanks in advance!

Update to my old post regarding Fios coming to my building

I’m the one that posted about 2 months ago about Fios coming to my MDU building in Queens, NYC. Interestingly enough, I checked my mailbox today and there was an advertisement for someone who used to have my apartment unit as a business address and it said “Fios is coming soon to your address!” followed by a link Verizon.com/bizfibercomingsoon. So that got me thinking: I should check on the main website for availability.

I typed in my full address with unit number and service is now available!! My question is: should I wait for a fios rep to knock on my door/get a door knocker in my mailbox, etc? Or is the price I see on the website the price I’ll actually end up being offered?

Thanks in advance!
