After 9 months finally we have an offer!

Background check cleared so I finally feel like I can talk about it. It was an 8 week interview process with only 3 interviews. It was excruciating to wait over that time but this company is everything I’ve ever wanted so it was well worth the wait. I got to quit a terrible, horrible job that I was going to get laid off from. I can finally breathe 😭

Handwashing a dry clean only silk top

I have a silk top that I use mostly as a coverup when I’m wearing a tank top on a hot day. IE it’s not an Hermes silk top it’s a leopard print silk shirt that I wear when I don’t want to feel exposed lmao.

It says dry clean only but for a shirt I’m sweating in so much that’s kind of a pain. I don’t care if the shirt gets wrinkly when I wash, I just want to make sure it’s not going to totally ruin the fabric.

How long are you waiting for your dry cleaning?

I’ve been dropping off mine and my parents dry cleaning for the last 10 years, I did a big batch of stuff for the first time in a while(15-20 items) I dropped my stuff off on the 24th and I wasn’t in a super rush, but in my head the usual turn around time is 2-5 days, so when she asked when I needed by I said “no rush”. She told me my stuff would be ready on July 7th!! I told her that no, I will actually need it before two weeks later and told her I would need it today, the 2nd. I know it’s first thing in the morning but they’ve been open since 6:30 it’s still not ready to go.

Is this typical now or did I pick a dud

Looking for any information on these shoes

How do they fit/are they comfortable? I can’t find any regular stores that have them, only resellers, so I can’t try them on. Do they fit the same as regular Nikes? I’m usually a size 7.5/8. Thanks!

Looking for sneaker ballet flats at a sneaker resale store

I want some street wear-y ballet flats but I will not buy them without trying lol. I don’t want to walk to every single sneaker store in the city, has anyone seen a store that has them lately?

What are your favorite 6 hole punch paper refills?

I love a good heavy paper, I use fountain pens and stub nibs so fighting bleeding is a daily struggle. I typically use levenger but I recently bought a small 6 ring notebook that has awesome pages but it’s from some small creator and I can’t buy the pages alone.

What’s everyone’s favorite heavy GSM 6 hole punch paper?? Thanks!

Looking for a functional backpack that isn’t boring

I need a work backpack with a water bottle compartment for my big bottle and a laptop sleeve. I need a few extra compartments as well. It seems that cute and function are mutually exclusive, all the fun backpacks just have one single compartment. I have to commute on a bus and also walk quite a long while, and I’m also pretty short so the bag can’t be too big or I look like a turtle.

I wasn’t sure where else to turn after hours of searching today

Does anyone have this pen case? Does it fit most pens?

I saw this case and it’s exactly what I’m looking for, I carry 3-5 pens to work in a backpack 3 days a week, but I have pens that are “longer” than the levenger pens. Has anyone used this case and what’s the longest pen that you can fit in it?

We love a chunky loafer

I absolutely cannot walk in heels and I was worried my childhood dreams of owning red bottoms would be thwarted, but then the daisy spikes came and saved the day

Still not shipped lol

After 10 days they hadn’t shipped and hadn’t been online since a week before I bought the item so I sent a short message thinking they didn’t know it had sold and got this snark back lmao. Guess I’m not getting it 😂

Sharp nipple pain when I blow my nose???

This morning I woke up with a weird itchy feeling INSIDE of my breast, barely noticeable, but then when I blew my nose my nipple had a horrible sharp pain until I stopped. It seems like one other person on the internet has this issue and got a non answer about “muscle spasms”

Got these louboutins for a steal, real or fake?

Got them for $120, I think they were so cheap because one of the shoes is missing a plastic nub on the flower, but something tells me a replacement for the plastic piece is cheaper than the $500 difference for most of the other used pairs I see. They feel real but I’m no expert. Came with the dust bag too!

Chicago Auto Repair tried to sell me $2200 worth of services I didn’t need

This is more of a PSA, especially for women who get their car worked on, I took my car to Chicago auto repair after getting my oil and brake fluid changed there last year. They were pretty straight with me so I went back, I’ve been working on cars for most of my life and my dad is a mechanic so I know my way around, but I don’t have a garage here to do my own work. Chicago auto repair said the following things;

I needed my brake fluid flushed($150): they themselves flushed it less than 8000 miles ago.

I needed new brake pads, rotors, drums and shoes($900): I replaced the entire rear assembly two years ago and the front drums and shoes as well.

New serpentine belt and tensioner ($800): the serpentine belt does need to be replaced BUT the tensioner is fine, and the tensioner costs $600.

Spark plugs($600): I know my vehicle make and model and I know that spark plug replacement at this mileage is more trouble than it’s worth.

As a girl who knows about cars it’s one of my biggest pet peeves when auto shops try to do this to people because I know they expect women especially to have no idea what’s going on

Does anyone have a bandit pacer e-bike charger I can borrow for a few hours?

I’m looking at buying a bike from a friend that doesn’t work but it has no charger. I was wondering if anyone have a charger I could borrow to check if the bike works because the chargers are impossible to find/expensive/nonreturnable and I don’t want to be stuck with a dud bike
