I’ll go first: The Mosin is more accurate of a rifle than you are a shooter.

Inspired by the Film/Taco post the other day. ‘23 TRD Pro 6MT

Meet ‘Icarus’ (a little play on the Solar Octane color code) Drove him off the lot with 2 miles on the ODO; no markup or dealer fee, just straight MSRP because the dealer was convinced no one wanted a manual. Now we’re at 50k Miles, 18 states, and ~45 nights camping with the family. I religiously maintain him myself; oil every 4k miles, OEM filter. Diff/Tcase/air filter, and grease is done every 20k just because of how much he’s off-road. Wrapped in Falken AT4s. Clutch accumulator delete is the next project to tackle.

Only had to lock the rear diff twice on some sketchy Idaho forest roads, but he’s in 4LO to get us up into the boonies pretty regularly. He’s not perfect; some Arkansas pin striping in some areas but he’s got character and stories.

Don’t crap on my camera skills. This whole roll was with an untested Nikon FE…turns out the lens and light meter needed to be serviced 😅.

Help us brainstorm a way to carry!

Pic for attention!

Hey y’all; wife and I are both very experienced and have carried for over a decade now (I carry a P7M13, she carries a 43x).

TL;DR - how can a woman carry her 43x with a 6-week old baby in a chest carrier on her?

Long story, long; we’re trying to brainstorm a way for her to adjust her carry. We have a 2 year old and a 6 week old. She usually wears our 6 week old in a wrap on her chest, and both of her other hands are occupied holding our 2 year old’s hands and/or pushing a stroller or carrying a diaper bag.

When she’s out and about running errands without me, it’s damn near impossible for her to carry without doing off-body carry in the diaper bag (which is a bad idea with a 2 year old who just discovered zippers).

We’re stumped. I have no clue how she can continue to carry. Appendix is out the window because…9lb baby on her chest. Her body style (small frame) doesn’t support carrying at the 4 or 8 o’clock. And summer time in the southern US with a warm baby on your chest means thin t shirts and shorts to stay cool.

Any suggestions?

Tracking down a problem - 2004 LC100

Car audio will randomly quit working and I get this message. Has anyone seen this before? I’ve seen the errors with the nav system before but not the Audio system.

Quick googling says the amp goes out from time to time.

LC100 series; frame rust sanity check please

Not from a rust prone state and looking to purchase this ‘04 LC100. It was a Texas truck originally, but spent the last 4-5 years in Michigan. Meticulously maintained.

The rust doesn’t seem *too* terrible - looks like surface on the welds. But it’s a great deal and I’m trying to be as objective as possible.

I figure 5-6 cans of fluid film and a wire brush should knock down most of it and prolong the life, especially since she won’t be going back on to salt anytime soon.

Thoughts?

Family member’s new build

Helping a family member move in and working in and around their attic. For reference it’s a 1+ million dollar new build in central Texas.

I know nothing about carpentry, but some of this caught my eye….I thought for the price tag there maybe would have been more attention given to this stuff. Whats the verdict? Good/bad/indifferent?

Help diagnosing LC100 stumbling under load/acceleration hesitation

Hey y’all, looking at picking up this LC 100; it’s a 1998 2UZ with 242k miles for dirt cheap.

Seller states that it has problems accelerating and stumbles under load/wont rev over 2k RPM’s. It does when you unplug the MAF, and the throttle body is clear. No blow-by either. Warms to temp and doesn’t overheat.

Almost sounds like an airy ‘pop’ like the exhaust valves are burned. But I’ve never ran into that causing the inability lo rev.

Also smells like it’s running rich.

There is one stored code for P0110; Intake Air Temp Sensor.

Here’s my thought of what COULD be the problem:
-Clogged Catalytic Converter
-timing belt teeth missing (last belt was done in 2004 at 98k miles….
-maybe bad TPS?

What else should I look at? Thoughts? Ideally looking for a quick diagnostic so I can negotiate and fix it easily and quickly.
