Dialog spread inevitable?

I’ve got a Playbar setup with two Play1 speakers as the left and the right, thanks to this excellent app.

I have noticed that the left and right channel content correctly only shows up in the left and right speaker. None of it comes out of the Playbar.

But the opposite is not true. some of the dialog, which is just in the center channel, not only comes out of the Playbar but is ALSO spread to the left and right speaker.

Is this what other people are hearing as well? If so, then fine. It’s not ideal for the center channel content to also be heard in the left and right speakers. But if that’s how it has to work, then I’ll live with it.

But if this is user error on my part, I’d like to know about that, so I can work on fixing it.

(if it matters I should note that I am running on s1 still.)

What does SIZE on the superautomatics like Rivelia do for a given recipe?

What does the SIZE control option do for a given recipe?

Does it run more water through the same puck?

Does it foam more milk?

If the former, then I definitely don't want to use it.

If the latter, that could be useful for my household.

Seems like it is the former from my testing which is a waste. And I want a bigger drink I should just make two drinks right?

Rivelia recipes explained?

The Rivelia has 15 recipes (if one includes "hot water" as a recipe.)

But many of them don't really make intuitive sense to me. Is there a guide? I would think this should be in the manual, but it is not.

Even more dense froth on the LatteCrema Hot system on Delonghi?

My spouse says the DENSE setting on the Latte Crema Hot system (carafe) is barely dense enough with the full fat oat milk I use for her drinks.

https://preview.redd.it/r627thfg801h1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=591841d454dc5a35ef0d40bab0cbebf65617a060

To be frank, if there was a setting beyond that, I bet she would prefer that even more extreme version.

Any way to adjust the LatteCrema carafe to get ever more Dense than the Dense setting (by which I probably just mean more air and volume from the same amount of Oat Milk)?

Pros and cons of using a separate Photos library for each year?

I’ve got a very large collection of photographs going back 30+ years and numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

I like the idea of having them all accessible in the Photos app interface, but putting them all into a single instance of Photos seems to bog it down and creates issues with cloud storage where I really only care about cloud sync for the current 12 months.

I’ve toyed with the idea of creating a separate photos library (not on the main internal drive) where each year gets its own Photos library.

But I am curious to hear about the experience that other people have had doing something similar and whether there are dealbreakers they found that they can share with me before I spend the time and resources to do this.

EDIT: Thanks for the input.

Sounds like the PHOTOS app should be fine with 6tb of photos numbering about 300k.

But that local storage (currently USB3 external spinning drive) is likely the problem. Only have 1TB internal SSD on the Mac, so I'll need to research external solutions. I know SSD is the smart choice, but at $600 to $800, I'm hoping to find a reasonable alternative.

Then the other problem is I can no longer use iCloud sync unless I upgrade to the $30 a month plan.

I think my Gaggia Brera brew unit has given up the ghost after nearly a decade of daily use. For us that's perhaps 6000 shots.

Looking around while I would love to pick up a replacement brew unit on Amazon, the reviews make it sound like they are mostly questionable knock offs.

Is Encompass the only option in the USA for a genuine part? Saeco 996530003229 (11005921) is what I am looking at. Seems like it's about $100 inducing shipping plus tax.

I'm building a Druid at first level.

Elf with Acolyte background.

Am I right that the only Origin Feat (and therefor the only Feat) I get at the start is MAGIC INITIATE (cleric)?

EDIT: Thanks to the folks that replied for helping me confirm my understanding!

I feel like I am missing something.

For example, a short sword has the vex property. But if use the shortsword and I’m a Druid, I don’t get to use the vex property because my class can’t achieve weapons mastery in any weapon?

I would need to be a:

  • Barbarian
  • Fighter
  • Paladin
  • Ranger
  • Rogue

and I would need to designate short sword as my weapons mastery? THEN I could use the vex property of my short sword? Or if I am barbarian, since I already proficiency in all simple and marshal weapons, I would already be able to access and use the vex property of my short sword?

EDIT: Thanks for all the help, friends. I feel like I'm half way there. So many layers. For a few minutes I thought I should find a Shadowdark table because I've been so flummoxed by this and related rules. I don't think anyone at my table has used Weapons Mastery, Feats, and probably a couple other things that were mentioned in the replies, EVER, in the past year of our campaign..... presumably because they didn't understand them.

I am taking some players through the heroes of the borderlands starter set. One of the players hit me up with a question that seemed really easy until I couldn’t find an answer to it.

Down at the bottom of each sheet, there’s a modifier for attack roles for characters like the cleric and the fighter. I was not able to explain where that modifier comes from based on the rest of the data in the character sheet in the starter set.

What am I missing?

The rulebook just says to use the number. “Trust me bro” is not a great teaching method.

(I’d post a picture but it seems I cannot post pictures. Anyway there are lots of photos online to see what I mean. )
