had a 3 year relationship with a guy I started dating when I freshly turned 16. I hadn't planned to date at all (my first experience wasn't consensual and I wasn't over it yet) but he kept trying and was there when I really needed someone so eventually I fell in love.

Then I had to take a serious gap year to prepare for my entrance exams
I'm from a tier 3 state, excelling in this entrance exam meant I would be able to tell my parents about my relationship otherwise there was no chance of us actually having a future
So I told him even though we miss each other and we meet like 2 days a week now for a few hours, it's only for a year till I ace it. I meant it and worked my really hard off.
Meanwhile, even though he was the one who kept saying he'd marry me, he wasn't doing anything to secure his future. Not studying at all. Roaming around the whole day doing absolutely nothing.
I told him even if he didn't study he should at least learn some skills that would help him get a good job so even if our parents dont agree and I have to leave my home if it came down to it I'd havesomething to rely on. Also, his mother is a widow and it made me dislike his casual attitude even more.
He didn't take that nicely , we started having fights which we never did earlier and I didn't realize we were growing distant because I really, really was focused on cracking the exam and thought, oh it's clear we're solid. Just a year and we'll be back to how we were.

Just as I was at my peak in academics- my mock scores increasing , my teachers telling me they're proud of my improvement and I'd crack it this year, we suddenly broke up over something very trivial. Like incredibly trivial. I assumed it was a silly little fight and he was just angrier than usual because I hadn't been able to give him time.
The no contact stretched, when we'd talk it'd be shot replies, no attempts to fix us, just passive aggressive jabs.
There's a festival that's celebrated very grandly in my state and I hadn't been present for it for the past few years and this year I really, really wanted to experience it with the person I loved the most
He knew it, but he still. Kept the no contact?
After like a week I started getting concerned because the longest we had gone without yapping to each other was half a day. Half a day in 3 years and suddenly this?
I couldn't understand. I stalked his IG, private account, he only followed one other girl apart from me.? Strange, weird, but maybe the others were deactivated? Or some other weird reason?
