Airlines Manager sparked my interest in airline strategy. How can I break into the aviation industry?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been playing Airlines Manager for quite a while now and one thing I’ve realised is how much I genuinely enjoy the strategy side of the industry, especially route planning, network expansion, fleet decisions, and understanding why airlines choose certain routes over others.

The game obviously isn’t real life, but it sparked a genuine interest in aviation and airline strategy. Since then I’ve been reading more about airline operations, route networks, fleet planning, and the commercial side of airlines.

My background isn’t in aviation. I have a Master’s in Business & Management and experience in business development and operations across the UK, UAE, and the US. So I know I’m not the typical candidate for airline planning roles.

That said, I’d really like to explore opportunities within the aviation industry, particularly in areas such as network planning, route development, commercial strategy, or airline operations.

Does anyone here work for an airline or know someone in the industry who would be willing to chat, offer advice, or point me in the right direction?

I’d be grateful for any guidance on how someone without an aviation degree can break into the airline industry.

Thanks in advance!

₹70k budget: Gaming laptop, Xbox, or PS5 for a casual gamer?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on what would be the best option for me.
I never really got into gaming growing up because I couldn't afford it at the time, and I never learned much about gaming hardware. Now I'm thinking of getting something to play on weekends and occasionally after work.
My budget is roughly ₹70,000.
The main games I'd like to play are:
Forza Horizon

GTA V

GTA VI when it releases

Open world games

Racing games

Action/adventure games

At the moment I'm considering:
A gaming laptop around ₹70k

Xbox Series X

PS5

A few things about me:
I'm a casual gamer, not a hardcore gamer.

I'll mostly be playing on weekends.

I don't know much about building or upgrading PCs.

I'd prefer something that offers good value for money over the next few years.

I already have a TV, so connecting a console isn't an issue.

What would you recommend and why?
Also, how much should I factor in for game costs, subscriptions, and long term ownership costs when comparing a gaming laptop to an Xbox or PS5?
Thanks!

Looking for a budget friendly gaming setup for casual weekend gaming

Hi everyone,

I never really had the chance to play many decent video games growing up because I couldn’t really afford it, and I never knew how to build a PC. To be honest, I still don’t know much about PCs or gaming hardware.

I’m now thinking about picking up something to play on weekends and occasionally after work. I’m not looking to become a serious gamer or spend hours every day gaming. I just want something that’s easy to use and offers good value for money.

The main games I’d like to play are:

• Forza Horizon
• GTA V (and GTA VI when it comes out)
• Open world games
• Racing games
• Action/adventure games

I’m considering:

• Xbox Series S
• Xbox Series X
• PS5
• Gaming laptop
• Gaming PC

I don’t need the highest graphics settings or anything fancy. I just want a smooth experience without spending more than I need to.

If you were in my position and mainly gaming on weekends, what would you buy and why?

Thanks!

What are the biggest day to day problems in logistics operations right now?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand the logistics and operations industry from people who actually work in it.
I’m especially interested in problems around:
Route planning
Fuel costs
Driver and dispatcher communication
Delays and idle time
Last mile delivery
Technology adoption
Gaps between software and real ground operations
From your experience, where do logistics companies lose the most time or money?
Also, are companies actually using technology properly, or is there still a big gap between what the system says and what happens on the ground?
I’m asking because I’m exploring logistics and operations as a career direction and want to understand real problems, not just theory.
Would really appreciate any practical insights.
