Multi-PC users, how do y'all sync your categories across installations?

I can't imagine I'm the only user with multiple systems, so I'm assuming this is a thing others do already. I have a main home gaming pc, and a laptop as well, both with Heroic installed with large libraries. Manually re-managing the categories in the library on two machines is a huge pain point, and there doesn't appear to be an export function. Has anyone worked out a solution to this?

Is it possible to use the Pedal to change screens on the Deck?

The built in options for this device are certainly more limited than the full Deck. But perhaps with a plugin or two, is it possible to use the Pedal to navigate screens on the Deck?

I would do naughty things to get them to improve the Pawn Search in DD2

Has there been any word on this possibly improving in the new updates? DDDA and DDON spoiled me on this, and it's almost embarrassing how limited it is in DD2.

Unmoored World spoilery question within: Anything left to do?

I'm in Unmoored and thinking I'm done, just verifying - is there anything I'm missing?

>!I have: defeated all the Purgeners, cleared all the red beams before any Brine could advance, got to watch my Pawn go all Jet Jaguar Mecha-Talos on Godzilla and Megalon two of the big bads, done every quest given to me, escorted the last few folks around, brought everyone I can think of to the evacuation shrine, found every loot drop the internet could direct me to, killed all the lesser dragons, got at least one of every item the dragonforge guy sells, dragonforged everything in the top tier for my vocations, killed a veritable shitload of drakes in an action loop, and built a nest egg of about 500 more WLC just in case.!<

>!My main pawn's affinity is maxed out, my current pawn crew is absolutely baller, and I have too many wakestones and all-heals to even care about. Am I missing anything? Is it time to finally make the rounds one last time, pick up my port crystals, and then head back to that last Big Red Beam In The Sky so I can press F to pay respects to the UW and get the NG+ going?!<

With the new free portcrystal locations, what are the best places to drop your own before starting Unmoored?

We have a few new static crystals now, so we can pick up the ones we had prior. What are the best places now to place before going into Unmoored?

Sudden 1-second audio delay on ALL mixes in Wave Link 3 app

I've been using WL3 for about a month or so with a Stream Deck+. It's been great in action, I've had zero issues. Suddenly today there is a 1-second audio delay on all my mixes. It's only the Wave Link mixes. It's really, really awful and I'm about to just uninstall it and revert to the WL2 again.

And I'll go ahead and preempt the inevitable "dur hur it's never going to be zero latency dur hur" people and say that it was practically seamless for over a month. Something changed, and now it's noticeably awful.

If anyone has any tips on things to check with the setup, let me know.

EDIT: Confirmed, all is perfect in WL2. Dammit Elgato, figure your shit out. These days I'm embarrassed to have your logos on my desk sometimes.

Can anyone recommend a good angled riser for the Elecom Huge Plus?

I enjoy having risers on my Azeron and my kinesis split keyboard, and I'm feeling the need to add one to my Huge. Problem is both of those came with their own risers, and the Huge didn't. Web searches are not helping either. I'm curious if any of y'all using the Huge or Huge Plus can recommend one.

The new "Use Gmail" message pops up EVERY SINGLE TIME I open ProtonMail, how do I make it stop?

I don't want to connect Gmail, but it won't stop telling me about it. I'm using the Proton Mail site in Firefox. How do I get this message to go away forever?

Wave Link 3: After reboot, all of my custom mixes and channels were gone. The app completely reset.

Last night I turned my PC (Windows 11) off as usual, and when booting this morning, it was like the app completely reset. It had me confirm the EULA and everything. "Getting things set up for you..." was the first thing I saw, then a completely reset channel screen.

Stream Deck still has all my Deck profiles, but the Wave Link is acting like I've never used it before.

Is there a way to recover this lost configuration?

Request: Let us emulate virtual DS Edge / Xbox Elite controllers with paddles

I'd like to be able to emulate either the Elite 2 or the DS Edge with ReWASD, and be able to map controls to the "paddles" on that virtual controller.

Why: I have a lot of Steam Input profiles that make use of those paddles. I would like to be able to map a group of accessibility controllers that I use to a paddle-having virtual controller, so I can then make use of those Steam Input profiles. More specifically, I have a foot pedal in ReWASD that would be ace if I could assign it the Paddle buttons and have Steam recognize them. I imagine emulating the Elite would be easier as there's no need to muck about with trackpad or gyro features.

Thanks.

Wave Link 3: When are we going to get more channels?

With Wave Link 3, the ability for the application to add pretty much anything as its own channel appears to be a huge new selling point. However, the limit of nine total channels very quickly quashes the potential versatility of that new feature. I upgraded to make use of this new feature, only to very quickly learn of this disappointing arbitrary limit.

When are we going to get the ability to add more channels?

EDIT: Thinking on it more, an alternative that would still serve my wants would be if WL3 had the ability to export and import channel-based profiles. That would solve the issue of limited active channels, letting me build as many app/device-specific channels as I need, save them, and swap them in and out based on the event of the moment.

Is it possible to "un-Embiggen" the controller map UI?

(I suspect this post might get lost in the sea of "omg it shipped" and "omg it didn't ship" posts, but I'll give it a go anyway.)

At some point in the last couple of months, it seems that the "Controller Map" ui in Steam - the one you see when you open the controller interface and hit "View Layout" - got redesigned by Fisher Price. It's so huge and ugly, it is like it's made out of Duplo blocks. It's so big even the title of the layout is cut off at the top of the screen. Is there a way to shrink that back down to its previous, less obnoxious size?

Things I've tried:

  • Disabling Steam Settings -> Interface -> "Scale text and icons..."
  • Disabling Steam Settings -> In-Game -> "Scale Steam Overlay..."
  • Changing Steam Settings -> Accessibility -> UI Scale
  • Switching between Desktop and Big Picture modes
  • Disabling DPI scaling in Windows on the various EXE files via the Compatibility tool
  • Disabling display scaling directly in the Windows display properties (i.e. setting it to 100%)
  • Running the Steam UI through Lossless Scaling

It's like someone said "Zoom and enhance!" on the controller map and hit save. It's not really breaking any functions, but I just find it to be annoyingly, unnecessarily huge. Previously, all the mappings were nice and central on the screen, easier to see at a glance, easier to help you visually plan out new configs. Now your eyes have to rove the whole dang screen to see everything.

EDIT: Seems the best way I've found to work around this is to start the game from Desktop mode, then if I want to reconfigure the controls mid-session, alt-tab back to the Steam Desktop window, click the controller settings button there, and then it opens in a smaller, more PC-friendly window that doesn't automatically stretch to fill the whole screen.

Wave Link 3.1.1: Does drag-and-reorder mixes and channels not work right now?

I am finally trying to switch from WL 2 to 3, and while a lot is going pretty smoothly, right out the gate I'm seeing a weird bug. Seems that the drag-and-reorder arrows don't work at all for me. The pop up when I over over the channel/mix names, and if I click and drag... nothing happens. It's like I didn't even click on them.

Is this a known issue, or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: As with most things, it was fixed with a restart of the system. All good now. I am unsure why it locked up but hey, it works again.

Weird annoying bow aiming glitch, anyone else see this?

Playing on Steam in Enhanced, using mouse and keyboard, I'm suddenly getting this weird buggy input when aiming with a bow. If I hold Control (block key) to aim it, it seems to work at first, but if I move my mouse too hard, it breaks aim. However, then from that point forward the Control key acts like a basic light attack, and I can no longer aim. However, I can then use Right Mouse Click (heavy attack) and it aims instead. It seems to reset after some unknown series of button presses, or when I swap weapons.

It's quite frustrating, and makes me no longer enjoy playing with a bow. Anyone else encounter this, and figure it out?

I'm seeking recommendations on fantasy LitRPG with some particular needs (read post)

Hello everyone! I've been devouring LitRPG like it's going out of style, and after reading a whole bunch recently, I've started to realize more of what I want, and it's pretty specific. I'm hoping to get some recommendations on things that fit this need.

I'm looking for Fantasy Adventure LitRPG, preferably (but not necessarily) of a "Dungeon Crawl" focus, with the following Hard and Soft requirements:

  • (Hard) Consistent world mechanics. This is an absolute must for me, I usually give up on a story once I realize the author is just making up the mechanics as they go. I don't need a printed rulebook or anything like that, I just want to feel the the mechanics make sense, are understandable, and the author doesn't invent entirely new ones out of the blue just to mess with your expectations.
  • (Hard) Slow burn leveling (as in, the heroes are nowhere near suplexing demigods by the end of the third book).
  • (Hard) No "Dungeon Cores" or the like. It's just a trope I'm very tired of.
  • (Soft) I should say hard, but this is a losing battle: I want an actual epub file that I can purchase and then download and read in my preferred ereader app. I'm not really a fan of reading on websites, and am not keen on Kindle Unlimited restrictions. But yeah, I'll take what I can get, in any case.
  • (Soft) A sizeable body of existing work. I'll take what I can get here, but yeah, it is pretty nice to know there's a lot more waiting for me, should I like it.
  • (Soft) Would prefer not Yet Another Isekai, but eh, it is what it is, and I'll take what I can get. But man, I'd love to read more good LitRPG written from the perspective of characters actually native to their weird fantasy worlds!

Here are just a few of the more well-known things I've enjoyed in recent times, without extended commentary. These don't come close to filling all the needs above, but I figure it's helpful to note what I've recently read for context:

  • The Calamitous Bob series
  • Return of the Runebound Professor series
  • Godkiller Chronicles / The Eternal Journey series
  • Friendly Fyre / Glass Kanin series
  • Dungeon Crawler Carl series

Thanks for your time and suggestions!
