Cross threaded?

Got a low oil alert omw home from work. Luckily I had 0.5q from the last time I did the change. But the most recent time I needed my brakes checked (turns out my brake booster blew) so I had them change the oil. Looks like they cross threaded it? Im going in tomorrow since they are closed already today

Suggestions on what other trees/shrubs to plant for privacy

>!Neighbor behind me cut his trees down so now I’m looking at his hou!<se. I planted three young giant arborvitae. Any other suggestions what I can plant between them? North Carolina zone 8a. The area is highly shaded with lots of mature silver maples, black walnuts, and sweet gums around.

How to fix this crawlspace issue?

Am I just going to have to get a stone mason to lay brick down and seal this vent area?

What I fear is since water is allowed to just freely flow in, there is 1000% some mold issues in the crawl space. So I want to have it treated, encapsulated, and sealed.

Also, idk why any homeowner would allow a contractor to do this. Everything about this is insane. The addition was built over a patio slab, connected to a basement with no opening in a curtain wall to allow access to the crawl space besides what was made to allow HVAC equipment there.

I love my Naturnest Sirius1

Have had this for maybe three months. Taken it on four trips, the Linville Gorge, Bonnaroo, Mt. Mitchell, and this weekend just outside of Asheville. I love sleeping the whole trip in it, as well as using it for the first night at the trailhead before headed out to backcountry camp. Hoping to get many more years out of this bad boy.

Does anyone else feel the most disgusting the very first day out in the woods?

Whenever I do a multi-day trip, the first day I always feel absolutely disgusting. I hate the feeling of going to sleep dirty. From then on out though I’m not bothered at all by it. Maybe kind of a pointless post but I’m waking up from the first night of my three night trip and had this thought lol.

How many of us view this as just a job vs something more and sacrifice family/personal situations for this career?

Just had my grandma pass, and without second thought about me being on call at my hospital, I bought an airplane ticket, told them I’m leaving out of town and left. They can figure out the call part on their own.

To me this is just a job, nothing more, nothing less. I refuse to put this job above anything in my personal life.

What’s the point of saving money when we all are just going to end up old and unable to enjoy life?

Why not just live your life now? Whats the point of living like a resident when you have the money to do whatever you want? Throwing money in to retirement that you’ll never use all of. Why not get that car, buy that boat, go on that trip, do things that make you happy while you’re young and capable?

For reference my grandma is in compassion care hospice now, my uncle has a glioblastoma, my mom is getting her heart worked up for what the doctors don’t know what’s wrong yet, and my dad has debilitating back pain. On top of that, I have been living with an epidermoid brain tumor that has been resected two separate times and will never be able to fully go away because how deep it is. It’s just a matter of time before I have a third resection.

Just live your life now. Enjoy whatever you can do, because in the end we all are fucked.

Here is to hoping this house gets filled.

Worried it might be surrounded by too many trees to become a home. But I’ll give it a try.

Has anyone heard from MOHELA yet?

I still haven’t heard -ish from them. Wondering if anyone is just applying for new plans before hearing from them, or waiting them out for as long as you can?

Report your brake booster failure to NHSTA

It seems to be a common issue with this car by perusing online. I just reported it to them, maybe they will end up with a recall. It’s too late for me now since I already paid for the repair, but for future/current owners who have yet to have this issue.

Edit: NHTSA*
