The Only thing Joel did that was wrong was trying to keep lying Ellie for as Long as he did; when they first got to Jackson, I can see why he’d want to lie as she’s a kid (barley 15 by the end of the game) and is already dealing with a MASSIVE chip on her shoulder due to her immunity, maybe he would’ve told her eventually maybe not (personally I think a good moment for Joel to tell Ellie the truth was after the guitar strings mission, if Joel had told Ellie the truth HIMSELF she probably wouldn’t have taken it AS bad she only lashed out because she felt betrayed by him. Due to Ellie sudden proclamation that she would have gladly died, her saying “I wanted to die/I would’ve sacrificed” all she wants, she only says that in Hindsight AFTER what Joel did and AFTER Joel told her that she would’ve died, she’s heavily motivated by survivors guilt (and maybe a bit of imposter syndrome) because she’s the ONLY person that can’t get infected while everyone else getting bit once is a death sentence.

something I feel if often ignored and overlooked (especially by people who “demonize” Joel for what happened at the hospital) the Fireflies essentially kidnapped Ellie while she was unconscious and was going to kill her for some slim Hail Mary chance at a vaccine/cure without her consent (imo even if they did ask Ellie she wouldn’t be mentally stable enough to consent anyway) as much as the story and FF defenders try to tell you that “Joel robbed Ellie of a choice/her agency” the fireflies were literally gonna kill her and end her life period, Joel meanwhile sure “Robed Ellie of a choice” at the hospital but the payoff was giving Ellie a LIFETIME of choices she can make. Also not to mention the Fireflies were gonna send Joel to his death considering he was walking past his bag because without his supplies/weapons it would’ve been a death sentence, if not outright kill him once get walks out the door, because remember the fireflies WERE gonna outright kill Joel before he ever woke up but Marlene convinced them to let her talk to Joel.

I think the only thing Joel did wrong was Trying to lie to Ellie for as long as he did as he knew that she’d eventually figure out the piece don’t make sense (as it’s shown she eventually did and left on her own). Do you think Joel would’ve eventually told Ellie the truth himself or would it have always come to Ellie making Joel tell her the truth?

After starting Wistori and seeing Will motivation to get to Elfie again, I was kinda worried that it was gonna be a Dan Machi situation (where Dan is obsessed with Ais, but Ais doesn’t see him at all meanwhile Dan has more chemistry with other people in his familia) but I’m really loving Will and Elfie and love how Elfie has the same mutual feelings with Will (even though he’s dense at times) like how when she described his story about Elfie clone spell to “terrorize him” but then at the end she’s embarrassed and saying “It wasn’t to terrorize you.. I just wanted you all to myself”
