It’s like Groundhog’s Day…

I get a door tag
I sign door tag for delivery
Get a text that someone needs to sign for it in person.
Call 1-800 number to explain that no one is at this address during business (delivery) hours.
Ask FedEx if they can deliver it somewhere else.
FedEx says to call the Shipper as only the Shipper can can change delivery address.
I explain that I don’t know who the Shipper is, or what the package is.
FedEx says they can send it to a FedEx center located in my local Walgreens.
Cool.
I go to my local Walgreens, and they say that they don’t have the package but check their system and it shows that it’s out for delivery.
Now repeat this multiple times over a three week period. That’s how f-ing frustrated I am.
I did my now routine morning call to the 1-800 number and was told that the package was returned to the Shipper due to me not picking it up in a timely manner.
If anyone from FedEx monitors this sub and gives a shit, feel free to DM me.

Why wouldn’t Bally’s accept Hawaii (gold star)drivers licenses?

Woman at the door checking IDs took it, flashed it to her co-worker and asked, “Are we accepting these tonight?”

Co-worker seemed conflicted between backing her up or correcting her.

Had a friend who said that maybe she didn’t know that Hawaii was a state, but I can’t believe she was THAT ignorant. I mean she must have see Hawaii IDs before.

SOTC update (4 years later)

This is actually my uncle‘s SOTC. He posted a few years ago, but has had a few additions since then.
He told me that he’s been collecting for about 45 years.
My father and I meet him almost every Saturday at his workplace and rotate watches for our “watch of the week” to wear. (His workplace has a lot of security and he keeps these in a safe there.)
Fortunately for me, he has two daughters and he has repeatedly instructed me to never buy a watch because while he may save one or two in case he ever has future son-in-laws, the bulk of this collection will eventually come to me.
I hope you guys appreciate this collection as much as I do.
And yes, I know how lucky I am.

Oh great and almighty Reddit Autobot, please allow me to ask FedEx for help!

Someone shipped me something via FedEx. I do not know who sent it or what it is.
I was left with a door tag that says an adult must sign for it in-person upon delivery.
There is no one at that address during delivery hours.
I called the 1-800 number and requested (through their automated system) that it be held at a FedEx pick up center. Then I had to take an unplanned work trip for a few days.
When I got back I went to the pick up center and was told they couldn’t track the package since I didn’t have the shipper info or the tracking number. (I was told, quite rudely, that I have a “door tag” number, not a “tracking number”.)
Get a text today saying that my package is out for delivery again and that an adult must sign for it in-person upon delivery.
Called the 1-800 number again, and now their automated system is saying that since I’m not the shipper, I cannot make any changes to the delivery, and told me to contact the shipper, whom I don’t know.
No options for speaking with a live person.
Please let me know what else I can do to get my package.

Surprise!

I put my collecting life on hold for a little over 25 years after getting married and signing a mortgage, and having my kids.
I recently heard that the owner of my local card shop was going to retire so I stopped by to congratulate him and express what a big part he and our hobby had in my teen/young adult years.
I would pop in every couple of years or so and buy a couple of packs here and there, but no major purchases in a very long time. I would mostly just shoot the shit with him.
While we’re talking about retirement, I’m randomly pointing to boxes, picking packs and busting them on his counter. After about five or six arbitrarily selected packs, this pops out of a 2001 UD SP Golf.
WTactualF!!!
I think it’s a very dangerous sign that the universe is sending me now that I’m an empty nester and have spare time and disposable income.
