Finding Dumbell Nebula in this photo?

Hi r/askastronomy.

Took a photo of the night sky in the desert and saw the Dumbell Nebula through my scope. I did a 3 min long exposure of it with my phone separately of my scope cause I was an idiot and forgot. Can anyone find it and highlight where it is?

Fuck Sales Tax filing. Good Resources to Learn for a tax accountant?

Hello r/tax.

Got no fucking training. Live in California and trying to file sales tax for a company. We get the company's 3 months of bank statements, and we have to compare it to the Point of Service summaries with gross and net sales, taxes paid, etc.

Fucking uber eats, doordash, all these companies have different rules regarding sales tax, then tips. This if for a restaurant.

Boss is on my ass for not knowing something I never did before.

How to learn this?

EITC + refund advance/loan to clients?

Hello r/hrblock.

In the book Poverty for Profit, the author claims that Hr Block and similar companies market to lower income EITC clientele by enticing refund advances: the client takes on a loan to obtain cash in hand immediately in anticipation for the refund they would eventually receive from the IRS.

The book makes it sound like such loans are predatory to such clientele, as these refund advances are not offered by HR Block, but a separate bank, and thus HR block has no control over such interest rates. Also, the ability to obtain cash in hand immediately is the main motivator for lower income peoples to go to HR block over things like VITA.

Is it true that HR Block caters to such clientele? How much of their customer base are these clients? Anecdotes from those that work at HR Block?

Need all these parts replaced before an alignment could be done?

Hi r/AskAMechanic .

Brought my Brother's Subaru outback 2011 3.6 because he hit curb with front passenger side tire doing a u turn. Car has about 170k miles. I'm second owner and most likely has not had any work done. The car drives with a very slight minor pull to right side. I went into an tire and alignment shop to see if anything was out of wack.

Gave me this receipt. Don't know anything about cars. Just want to get steering straightened. Is this really necessary? Told me they have to replace all these parts before doing anything

Coolant leak? Subaru outback 2011 3.6

Hi r/Subaru.

Picture of bottom of new radiator, next to lower radiator hose where the seams meet the bottom plastic. I bought from AutoZone, duralast 6 months ago. Please tell me it's not leaking. Is there any fixes I could do without having to bust my ass and replace with another one again?

Anyone here fuck off and live in another country after tax season is over?

Hi r/hrblock.

Dual citizen of US and SE Asia country. Will be getting EA soon. Wonder if anyone here just works seasonally during tax season, then fucks off back to another country? How viable is this as a lifestyle?

Coolant leak at end of lower radiator hose, Subaru outback 2011 3.6

Hi r/askmechanics.

Bought new lower radiator hose and clamp about 6 months ago. Checked under the car and found an external leak. Tried pushing up the clamp to see if it would help and this was the result. Suggestions from the vets?

Small tax firm made me an S-corp and not w2: I'm fucked

Hello r/accounting.

I made this post https://www.reddit.com/r/Accounting/s/vZIKeUxFvb regarding my employment at a small tax firm.

Was desperate for a job and wanted experience as a degreed accountant. Got hired by a slimeball fucker boss who intentionally misclassifies me and employees as a 1099, who then converted me to S-Corp. Have been paid 30 dollars an hour, non w2.

I know I'm fucked in regards to payroll tax and unemployment insurance, but I've done 1 yr of basic data entry for personal tax, business tax, and bookkeeping.

My housing authority in California is threatening me, saying that they will cut housing assistance because on paper my "business" makes too much, like 60,000 gross with no expenses: I can't expense anything as business expenses because they want proof that such business expenses were legitimate.

Slimeball fucker boss gave me a month "vacation" from now to work on EA, but seriously considering getting my EA and not coming back and just ghosting, but don't really know how to explain this to potential employers about my case.

Asking for advice please.

Top of faucet hose head leaking

Hello r/fixit.

My mother had a leak under the kitchen sink and we found that the water is coming from a leak above the faucet head when you turn it on.

We replaced the old head for the faucet, but it's still leaking above. Don't want to have to buy a whole new sink hose, is there any way to fix this?

Update: I put a little rubber gasket that goes between the head and the hose, and it solved the leak from between the head and the hose, but it unfortunately doesn't solve the leak from above, that is, the chrome housing and the tube.

EA waste of time if I just want to be a good self employed bookkeeper?

Hello r/accounting.

29yo accounting grad works at a small tax practice and completed 1 tax season doing a bit of everything, bookkeeping, tax, payroll etc. As of now, main motivation for career progression is flexibility: become a good self employed bookkeeper who can then go out on their own and live remotely out of the US.

However, boss is nagging me about completing at least Enrolled Agent exam as it would be marketable for his practice. Back of my head, know that the bookkeeping landscape is turbulent, competitive, and changing, and getting EA would be nice to have in back pocket career wise if things were to go south, but don't really like tax culture, nor do I foresee myself chained to a brick and mortar shop doing tax returns every season in the future.

Opportunity cost now is that I can either be actively studying and absorbing way more bookkeeping and be doing potential prospecting for clients, or I could be studying for the EA exam.

Any advice from the vets on this sub?

Hi r/enrolledagent.

Dual citizen of America and a SE Asia country. Was thinking if anyone works only during tax season as an enrolled agent, then fucks off to a foreign country. And just doing that for a majority of their career, kind of like the commercial fishing lifestyle.
