Having owned every handheld…. The Vita is only one I actually still play

Had my vita for a while, and played it a lot but of course when the steam deck came in I got that so I could play some AAA games and then the Rog Ally and Switxh which seemed to be an improvement so I played those. Playing game cube titles and ps2 classics was fun but I soon realised that I wasn’t playing these handhelds much, in fact it seemed a chore to do so, maybe because they were so big to carry around. They just gathered dust.

Then I decided to update my vita with some latest ports and emulators and I got right back into it! It’s such a cool device and there’s a real charm to customising it with designs and games, not to mention I carry it everywhere! It’s the only handheld that I genuinely want to play all the time…. So I’m giving it the official title “Greatest Handheld ever made!”.

I will say that utilising the remote play function was a big thing as I play a lot of my favourite titles through it and it works amazingly well away from home.

This has happened to a couple people I know as well. Think size does really matter.

Just playing GTA5 on a ferry at 125fps. Don’t mind me!

Ok I can’t confirm 125fps but who counts frames these days anyway. No stutter at all. Remote play via ps4

Gran Turismo on Vita rocks!!

I’m currently playing through GT1 at the moment and absolutely loving it but I’ve tried GT2 as well which is even better. Also I gotta say GT PSP is hugely underrated. I’ve sunk so many hours into it and I’m still not fully finished the game.
Also, I did play GT7 on the vita (remote play) which was fun but those earlier games are far superior I think.

Been taking my handheld on my walks. Best photo?

Most days I’ll go for a 20 min walk, sit down and play for about 10-15 then head home. I love it, gaming with scenery. Been taking a couple snaps along the way. Vita just fits in the pocket as well.

I really like Deb as part of Dexters conscious. Can they bring her back?

Rewatching new blood and I gotta say Deb being the voice of reason adds a lot to Dexters frame of mind. Wondering if they can do it in future episodes of resurrection perhaps even with Harry.

Is the ps vita the only handheld that can play infamous/uncharted? Other Sony exclusives?

I’ve playing a lot of remote play on the vita lately and I’m surprised at how well it works away from home. Enjoying ps3/ps4 classics like Uncharted trilogy, last of us, Driveclub and Infamous 2 and I was wondering, does any other handheld allow you to play these games?

I know Sony exclusives can be hard to track down on steam but have they been emulated anywhere else?

Vita owners have been spoilt this year… it’s not even June!

Animal crossing, portal, Morrowind, and those awesome N64 ports are such good additions I think we need a shout out to the brilliant minds behind these impossible ports. Truly a great year to be a vita owner, and we’re not even halfway through the year!
Did I miss any ports?

Results: Current favourite handheld poll

Poll is slowing down so I thought I’d call it early. You can see the steam deck and switch appear most popular but also some interesting results further down the list. 3DS and Ps Vita still very popular despite all the newest additions to the scene. I know it’s not definite in terms of how they all sell but interesting nonetheless.
Thanks everyone.

Poll: you current favourite handheld (part 2)

Did a second one to give more options to choose from, if yours isn’t here it’s probably in the first one. If not put your unmentioned handheld down below. I’ll tally the votes and post the results in 3 days of all.

Poll: Your current favourite handheld

Would’ve put more options but you can only select 6. I’m sure there are others like the Ayn Thor and retro if pocket. Put it in the comments if yours isn’t there. Just want to get an idea of what everyone is using.

It’s taken me 2 attempts, and almost 60 hours in total but I got there. Only 6 people have ever done it apparently. For those that don’t know, this is extremely hard.
