If this doesn’t belong here, I’ll delete—I was diagnosed with UCTD today after not meeting the hEDS criteria by a hair. My doctor (absolutely wonderful) said treatment will be the same as hEDS treatment, so I got referred to an EDS clinic (UVA) to test for CCI and discuss surgical options for my spine. That and a referral for a hypermobile specialist PT.

What a weight off my shoulders. A whole life of being dismissed as lazy, anxious, mentally ill, “medically anxious”, psychosomatic, “just faking it”, a misdiagnosis of fibromyalgia that cost me 5 years of mistreatment…all dismissed by this one doctor who listened to everything I had to say and took me seriously.

I’d love to hear stories about your diagnosis and good doctors you’ve had!

does anyone know where you can get an upright flexion/extension MRI in/around richmond? I need one to check for cervical instability. Also, if you have a good doctor/surgeon for cervical instability, please comment, I’m looking!

hi! i’m looking to go to the james river and hopefully experience the sights and views. i am a wheelchair user and need the place to be relatively wheelchair accessible—i am ambulatory so i can walk rather well, but id prefer to be in my chair and wheel around.

i can get up and move my chair over gravel paths or the like, if necessary, but the less of that the better.

if you have areas that fit the bill, please be specific on how to get to that area by car. thank you!

imo, it’s convocations. i think it gets overlooked bc it’s instrumental and very long, so it’s a little intimating to those who start with illinois ir carrie and lowell. i’ve been listening for 10 years and i only first listened to it last year and was blown away!

hi! i would describe myself as a socialist, but i’ve been reading anarchist 101 theory and am wondering, for you, what made you convinced of anarchy as your primary political ideology?

i’m particularly interested in answers from disabled people, as i am disabled and am not totally convinced that disabled people would be fully and safely cared for and treated for their disabilities in a full anarchistic society.
