Seepage?

I've watched a lot of videos , so I feel like i'm using this thing properly but when I first put it on the stove and it starts to boil the water starts to come out between the bottom chamber and the top chamber that you screw on. I am screwing it on tight, but I read somewhere. Not too tight, so I feel like I found the sweet spot. What could I be doing wrong?

ok, 1 question I forgot. When I was done, there was probably 20% of the water I put in there originally still in the bottom chamber. Is that normal?

Help with workaround with jewelry box

Hi, all.I am definitely a newbie at this, but I made something for myself that my friend liked so she Ask if I would make one of her jewelry boxes pretty for her. I said I'd Try and she gave me the one pictured below. Normally, I would have put on paint and maybe some gilding and decoupage flowers. But I'm not sure how to handle the front of this. Each drawer has those weird recessed ovals around the drawer pulls. p.s. the pulls to NOT screw off. Any ideas? How I can work with those weird recessed ovals? Is my only solution going to be Maybe just putting designs on the sides and tops and having the front all one color? thx In advance for any ideas or advice.

Fresh news brand recycled paper cat litter. What am I doing wrong?

I'm fostering a cat right now and the shelter provides you with food and litter. They have given me the Fresh News recycled paper litter. I like that it is pellets and does not get tracked everywhere BUT I cannot figure out how to work with this litter. Obviously I scoop the poop out but the problem is with the urine. You cannot tell where the pee is. I don't care what they say, it does not darken where the pee is and the pellets don't fall apart. I cannot tell what to scoop and the box (and whole room) STINKS. I'm trying to avoid buying my own litter because litter is expensive and they do provide me with this stuff free. Can anybody give me some tips or advice to figure Out how to use this stuff? I have had cats before , and this is the first time my house has ever smelled stinky and urine like. ugh. Help!!! thanks!

Region Suggestions - just starting research and I'm an over researcher. Help me save a few hours. Thx.

Hi all, My 2 friends and I (F 60 - but definitely young 60) do a 'big trip' every year and we are considering Japan for this coming spring so we are just starting to do our research/planning. We are pretty seasoned travelers, build our own itinerary, don't do group tour stuff usually and pretty much always use local public transportation but we have rented a car once or twice. Usually, we hit 3 or 4 places in 2 weeks. Such as, Prague, Austria, Hungary. Once we did Paris, part of Germany, out of Switzerland (just to give you an idea of our MO). However, traveling like that is getting a bit exhausting and I'd like to slow it down a tiny bit so I was thinking maybe base camp would be Tokyo and we could train around. BUT after just starting to read a bit, people are saying that might not be the best way to go. Since I am a person who can easily fall down the research rabbit hole, before I get started, do you all have any suggestions of 😄

-maybe 2 regions that would be best to work out of to get the most bang for our buck and not be jumping from town/hotel so much? Not married to Tokyo either, just figured it was best place to start.

-any thoughts on how the driving / traffic is there? I love to drive and I'm open to that but I also don't want to get super stressed out if the traffic is crazy there.

Not asking you all for a full itinerary, just a gentle push in what you think might be the right direction for me to get my research started (but always open to your thoughts). Thank you all so much.

Question about using stainless steel pans as nonstick

Okay, so we all keep hearing that we shouldn't use our nonstick pans anymore , and we should use stainless steel. There's also tons of videos out there showing how you can make a stainless steel pan nonstick by heating it up to a high heat , getting the water to dance over the surface , and then it is nonstick. The problem is, they then fry a egg on it. And yes , it doesn't stick , but what if i'm looking to do something low and slow like scramble eggs or make an omelet? Can't make an omelette on high heat. What am I missing here?

Newbie question about bleeding/ fraying?

Hi all, newbie here. I was making a practice piece (so glad I did) and I applied two layers of white chalk paint to top of box and let dry. Then I took thin layer of matte Mod Podge, laid down my design which was made of rice paper and I had frayed the edges using the wet paint brush method to make it fit. I smoothed with crumpled saran wrap and it looked great. I then brushed another thin layer of MP on top (I did this as soon as my rice paper design had been laid down, maybe I should have waited for the underneath layer of MP to dry?). When I was brushing on the top layer of the MP, I noticed it looked like either some of the color was bleeding onto the white paint or maybe very microscopic bits of the paper were being 'pulled off'? As I brushed on the top layer of MP (from center to edges) to seal the edges, is when I noticed this. Any advice as to what went wrong and how to fix before I work on the "REAL" piece? thank you.

Question about wax accents over chalk paint.

Hi, all, total newbie, I have been watching a ton of videos , but I'm confused about something. I have a small flat end table that I'm going to paint with chalk paint , apply a decoupage on top, and I would like to add a little bit of darker gilding wax in the grooves on the legs and around the edges. I am planning to finish the whole thing with a code of polycrylic. My question is, once I have all the painting on and I'm ready to add the gilding. What is the order of products? Do I have to do one thin layer of poly before I start doing the gilding wax? Do I apply the gilding wax directly onto the chalk paint? Do I have to apply a thin layer of clear wax down in the areas I want to add the gilding wax first so that the gilding wax doesn't suck into the chalk paint? I keep seeing that I can't poly on top of wax So i'm getting confused. help please?

Can anyone tell me where the reviews went? I cannot see them when streaming on tv but they used to show up when watching on my laptop. Can't find them now? Thanks.

Exactly what the title says. Cannot find the user reviews for movies, etc. anymore.

Hi all, I'm a medium crocheter meaning if the pattern is super clear and there is an accompanying video, I can get her done. BUT I'm trying to up my game by learning little tips and tricks to improve my work and be able to trouble shoot more on my own. I am working on the Lotus Blanket by Veronika Liachovic and I have just finished round 17 (see photo). I want to now sort of go rogue and start making it square in the next few rounds so I can be done and turn it into a pillow. Can any of you math wizards explain how I can do that. And more importantly, is it possible to sort of explain (or maybe you know of a good youtube that explains) how to figure this sort of thing out so I can do it myself in the future? Thanks in advance
