Paid the electrician before testing and found out two plugs aren’t working. How do I finish this?

Previous owner took out a vertical 4x4 post in the center of kitchen. Can it be replaced with a horizontal LVL beam? Is any rough carpenter capable or do I need a structural engineer or something? Or is there a better sub for this question? Thanks
