my parents found a texas brown tarantula who was paralyzed by a hawk wasp and gave her to me. how do i rehab her?
inexperienced with spiders, im sorry for any ignorance!!!
i love animals and my parents know that, so when they found a tarantula in the road they decided to give her to me. im pretty sure shes a younger one looking at the size but i could be completely wrong. they said they found her being dragged across the road after she was paralyzed, before she was taken to the wasps burrow, so fortunately i dont think she laid eggs on her.
im trying to research how to take care of her right, and also how to minimize her stress… poor baby must be terrified. i assume all animals are sentient until proven wrong and im trying as hard as i can to make her feel more comfortable. its better to give an animal who doesnt feel sadness comfort than leave an animal who DOES feel sadness without any help, i figure.
ive been watering her by flipping her over and putting water on her mouth with a q tip, and leaving her on a damp paper towel. shes in a well ventilated container in my closet for the dim lighting. im currently trying to assemble a system to keep her warm and damp and comfortable but im 18 and unemployed and i dont have a lot of resources. how often do i need to feed her? what are the best conditions to keep her in and what equipment do i need? i feel like im in over my head. im going out of town for a bit and im trying to find a way i trust my parents can take care of her because i really dont want her to die. poor baby. im sorry i realize this is worded really badly i just woke up. thank you all for the help
