Behind the scenes of the cosplay fabrication process for my handcrafted, wearable full silicone snake tail build for my Medusacosplay. To engineer a fully flexible, dynamic monster girl tail from scratch (I love turning myself into naga, lamia, and Greek mythology was a fun way to adapt this) I had to create a new approach to casting. I built an internal aluminum core frame for the structure, then hand-mixed platinum-cure silicone with a thixotropic agent to turn it into a thick, paintable paste. After painting the silicone over the metal frame to pull a hollow skin, I removed the core, stuffed it with batting, and hand-placed every single scale. Each scale was individually drawn, cut, and bevel-dremeled by hand from EVA foam, then locked down with another layer of raw silicone to trap the foam between layers—allowing maximum stretch and lifelike flexibility. Finally, I hand-mixed custom silicone paints for the hyper-realistic depth and texturing. Bringing this advanced level of SFX costuming to life takes massive patience when you need to do it on an insanely small budget and without proper tools but this gorgon transformation was worth it. Using thixotropic silicone fabrication for a unique flexible way to create my second ever snake tail build was a fun challenge to bring to my DIY cosplay space.

Bringing the Commandment of Purity into real life required high-tier costume fabrication and character modeling. This handcrafted Derieri cosplay from Nanatsu no Taizai features custom pattern making. For her signature hair, I utilized advanced wig styling to hand-weft a more relaxed, grounded interpretation of her intense spikes to capture how she might naturally look in the real world. I handled the professional cosplay photography myself to translate her stoic gaze and nonchalant attitude directly from the Ten Commandments arc. Cosmaker discipline plus deliberate studio lighting allowed me to showcase my original take on this Seven Deadly Sins cosplay.

Seven Deadly Sins cosplay featuring Derieri from Nanatsu no Taizai. This handcrafted Derieri cosplay was made with custom patterns and advanced wig styling. I hand-wefted her wig spikes, going with a more relaxed version of her intense hair architecture because I wanted to capture a version of her that might exist in real life. This attempt at professional cosplay photography was done by me to try and capture the sweet demon energy of Derieri from the Ten Commandments arc. How do you turn raw hardware into mythological weapon art? 🐍

This is my own original design for a prop spear made by hand for my original Medusa cosplay build. This hand-fabricated spear prop is a one-of-a-kind design to match my one-of-a-kind Medusa cosplay! I created this spear to capture that mythological Gorgon aesthetic and turn-to-stone energy.

I’m quite proud of my approach to making PVC, rubber, and vinyl plastics turn into a majestic, high-tier cosplay prop! I’m so ready to take on the gorgon, lamia, naga vibe with this in hand!

I built this entire look completely from scratch just to pay respect to one of the most chilling, untouchable moments in animation history. Watching her effortlessly drive the Clown Prince into pure insanity while Batman just lays there on the floor completely defeated is wild. And that creepy, quiet "nowhere" exit when he asks where she's going? Absolute chills.

I am fully convinced the writers realized they made her too overpowered for the universe. They literally had to nerf her storyline because she was simply too OP to be taken down by anyone in a fair fight.
