Why do people here dislike Haas?
We have a few Hass's in my shop. They're the most modern mills we have and they hold zero and listen to the things I tell it to do. Why do people always seem to be down on them?

Hello.
I recently got a Tavor shipped in, but only now noticed that it has the restricted state flash hider spot welded onto the front of it. I do not live in a restricted state, so if I remove the spot weld, will removing the flash hider reveal a threaded barrel? or just a blank front that I'll have to thread myself?
Pictures are not all of the same chicken. One of the 4 that I got had a plastic blinder on their nose which I removed. They have been in quarantine for about 4 days. Should I try to clean it out?
I was going to lock up the coop last night when a fox sprinted from the tree line and sent them running. I chased off the fox and the targeted chicken was able to get away, but now I can't find them. Of our flock of six, I was only able to find one hiding in the neighbors yard. I feel like such a bad chicken parent. My wife told me that this happens and that I shouldn't get attached, but I still feel horrible about the situation and that I should have put them back in their coop earlier while I could see them.
I guess I just need to hear the hard truth or be let down gently or something. I hate animal death.
Asking for a friend.
My understanding is that it's an entry level position. I was the lead de-burring and polishing guy at my last shop before I began setting up machines, but I received a lot of respect because I was really really fast and doing aesthetic work as well. Now I've changed jobs and doing entirely machining and, since it's commercial and government products rather than retail, the burr department is mainly for the people who don't want to/can't run machines. How is that department treated in your shop and do you know of any way I can scratch this artistic/metalworking itch?
A few months ago I got a new job after being a deburring specialist turned operator for a few years. I hadn't set up a machine ever before that point. Two months in they have me set up a machine for the first time ever, then they have me running two machines at once (not a problem, I've done 3+ at once before), then they have me set up stuff for other people, then I ran Inconel, and now I'm working on a finish op where sub-thousandths matter.
I cannot tell where gaps between the part and the pin hole ends and my fixture offsets begin. The set up was supposed to be only a few hours and it took me a day and a bit in order to get it set up. Keeping it reliably working is another matter. I cannot keep it straight in my head which way -X moves the table and how it translates from the CMM to the machine. I'm out of my element. ahhhhhhhhh.
edit: issue fixed. Loading issue and tooling issue.
So I was doing my rounds guarding an ammo depot and having long conversations with my friends about some of the goings on when I heard something clanging off in the distance. I went to investigate just in case a mutant slipped by our front guard and next thing I remember my friends woke me up and all of our filters, ammo, and supplies were missing. Whatever came by didn't kill us or take any of our weapons (except for Gleb's, he had a really sweet optic on his), but they took every individual round out of our magazines and even removed the stock/dust covers on all of our AKs, and there were like 15 of us with AKs. That's got to weigh a lot. I went to talk to our boss about it but their weapon was taken too, and that guy had a Saiga!
Anyway I have no idea what to do when the mutants actually show up. Our guns work but they've been stripped to the absolute bare bones components, even the heavy stuff. What would you do here?
Does this mean this variant is still being made????? The discontinued ones say "purchase accessories" rather than "order here"
EDIT: I AM NOW THINKING OF GETTING IT USED. I WOULD ONLY USE IWI FOR THE LEFTIE CONVERSION
