[Open Source] Deepcool Digital Display Support for Linux — Flutter + Dart Implementation

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share an open-source project I’ve been working on:

https://github.com/RahnRazamai/deepcool_digital_dart

This project provides native Linux support for Deepcool digital displays through a Flutter desktop application and a lightweight Dart background daemon.

The project was inspired by and builds upon the amazing work from Nortank12:

https://github.com/Nortank12/deepcool-digital-linux

My goal was to create a more user-friendly desktop experience while keeping everything fully open source and Linux-native.

Current features include:

• Native Flutter desktop GUI
• Background daemon that runs silently without cluttering the taskbar or desktop
• Real-time CPU temperature and utilization monitoring
• Direct communication with supported Deepcool digital devices
• Packaging support for Arch Linux, AppImage, and Debian-based distributions
• Written entirely in Dart and Flutter for easier maintenance and cross-platform development

The demo video below shows the application running on CachyOS (Arch Linux-based), but it should work on other distributions as well.

https://youtu.be/9ovHWfCsVnA

Contributions, testing, bug reports, and feature suggestions are all welcome. If you own supported Deepcool hardware and run Linux, I’d love to hear your feedback!

Thanks, and huge credit again to Nortank12 for the original project that made this ecosystem possible.

Guide: How to easily install FitGirl Repacks (setup.exe) on SteamOS / Linux & add them to Steam

Ahoy everyone!

Getting repacks to install and run smoothly without throwing missing redist errors or prefix issues is a common hurdle, so I made a straightforward video tutorial showing the easiest pipeline for installing setup.exe files using Heroic and getting them natively into your Steam library.
I'm demonstrating the install process using the Resident Evil Requiem FitGirl repack.

How it works:
Heroic Games Launcher: We use Heroic to run the FitGirl setup.exe directly through Proton. This builds a clean prefix and handles the installation flawlessly.

Steam ROM Manager: Once installed, we use SRM to locate the game executable, automatically grab all the artwork, and inject it straight into Gaming Mode.

Proton: Head into Steam properties, force your preferred Proton layer (like proton-cachyos-slr or GE-Proton or Proton Experimental), and you are good to go.

Max FPS Launch Options:
If you want to push the performance further on CachyOS, drop these into the game's launch options (especially helpful if you are running an AMD chip):
game-performance %command%
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1
ENABLE_LAYER_MESA_ANTI_LAG=1

The tutorial is recorded on my main rig (Ryzen 9 8945HX / RX 9060 XT 16GB / 32GB DDR5 on CachyOS), but this exact workflow translates perfectly to the Steam Deck and SteamOS.

Happy gaming, and let me know if you hit any snags during your installs!

CachyOS Gaming Benchmark with Minisforum BD895I SE + 9060XT

Hey guys, I just dropped a new 5-game benchmark video!

I wanted to see how the Minisforum BD895I SE and a 9060 XT 16GB hold up under pressure while running CachyOS. I threw some of the heaviest games I could think of at it:
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Space Marine 2
- Red Dead Redemption II
- Pragmata
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword (Demo)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on CachyOS as a daily driver for gaming

GIVEAWAY! 512GB Sky Hynix GEN3 SSD

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share a quick hardware optimization process I did on my tiny, vertical DeepCool CH170 mini-ITX rig running CachyOS. 16GB of memory and a stock 512GB boot drive were putting me right on the edge of stuttering and completely running out of space, so it was time to eliminate the bottlenecks.

The Swap:
RAM: Upgraded from stock 16GB to a 32GB DDR5 dual-channel kit for better multitasking headroom.
Storage: Removed the cramped 512GB SK Hynix PC611 drive and dropped in a monster 4TB WD_BLACK SN850X PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD.

I put together a short, no-talking, pure mechanical ASMR upgrade video detailing the teardown and installation inside this tight SFF layout.

🎥 Watch the Upgrade Video Here:
https://youtu.be/1sWXNLb9b0g

🎁 Used 512GB NVMe SSD Giveaway (Malaysia Only 🇲🇾)
Since I pulled the working 512GB SK Hynix PC611 drive out of the system, I’m giving it away to someone in the community to help with a budget build or an extra storage drive.

How to enter: Just head over to the YouTube link above, leave a like, subscribe, and drop a comment letting me know what game you’re installing first if you win.

Timeline: I'll be drawing the winner randomly and announcing them in my next video in about 7 days.

Note: Shipping is fully covered, but this is strictly open to residents living in Malaysia!

Goodluck!

How I Play Space Marine 2 on Steam Deck at 60FPS! No Framegen | Moonlight | Sunshine

Hey everyone. I'm back in my hometown right now and had to leave my main rig behind. I really wanted to keep playing Space Marine 2, so I decided to test out streaming it via Moonlight and Sunshine from my PC to my Steam Deck.

Honestly, my mind is kind of blown. The latency is practically non existent. It genuinely feels like it's running natively on the handheld. Nothing beats being able to play a heavy game like this from the comfort of the couch.

Has anyone else been using this setup recently? Let me know if you guys would like a full tutorial on how to set this up.

How to Get the Steam OS Experience on Windows 11 24H2/25H2 | Xbox Mode | OmniConsole

Missing the new Xbox Mode in Windows 11 version 24H2/25H2? Not only will I show you how to force-enable the hidden Full Screen Experience (FSE), but I’ll also show you how to hijack it so your PC boots straight into Steam Big Picture Mode!

Coming from a Steam Deck, I wanted that exact same seamless, controller-first "SteamOS" experience. While dedicated Linux builds are great, I specifically chose Windows 11 for this living room rig to ensure flawless HDMI 2.1 support giving me perfect 4K 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM straight to my Sony Bravia X90H.

Using a tool called OmniConsole, we get the absolute best of both worlds: native Windows hardware support combined with a legit, bypass-the-desktop Steam console UI.

Downloads & Tools Mentioned:
• Xbox FullScreenExperienceTool (GitHub): https://github.com/8bit2qubit/XboxFullScreenExperienceTool/releases/tag/v0.9.0
• OmniConsole Releases (GitHub): https://github.com/8bit2qubit/OmniConsole/releases/tag/v2.1.1.0

Pragmata Boss Fight on Steam Deck | Optiscaler & FSR 4.0.2c

Testing out the first boss fight in Pragmata. Injected FSR 4.0.2c via OptiScaler, and the results are pretty wild for the Deck.

The combat and pacing feel incredibly fluid. Too smooth on handheld. Kudos to Capcom!

I Built a Bootable USB Flasher for Steam Deck! | RGS ISO Flasher Tutorial

Hey everyone,

I recently built my own bootable USB flashing tool called RGS ISO Flasher for Steam Deck and Linux.

I originally made it because I wanted a simpler way to create Windows and Linux bootable USBs directly on SteamOS without dealing with complicated terminal commands.

Features:
- GUI-based
- Steam Deck compatible
- Windows ISO support
- Linux ISO support
- Automatic install.wim splitting for Windows installers
- Portable AppImage
- Auto sleep prevention while flashing

I also made a tutorial video showing how to use it on Steam Deck.

GitHub:
https://github.com/RahnRazamai/rgs-iso-flasher-appimage

Would love feedback from the Linux/Steam Deck community 🙂

Hidden Gem Staycation in Melaka

A little family escape in rural Melaka 🌿✨

Duta Riang Villa is not your typical staycation spot — it has this peaceful kampung luxury vibe with wooden villas, Balinese touches, a beautiful lake, huge pool, mini zoo, ATV, event halls and more.

But for me, jiwa Duta Riang Villa ni ada dekat Kayu Manis Restaurant. Good food, generous portion, affordable price, and makan with lakeside view? Perfect combo 😍

Dari villa sampai ke makanannya, everything feels warm, rare and calming — such a beautiful staycation experience for our little family.
