Israel conversion not accepted in Diaspora ??

Hi I don’t know if there’s any rabbis on this thread to answer this question. My friend converted orthodox in Israel under the Rabbanut but was told it’s not accepted by all communities (apparently the UK & Netherlands and I think the São Paulo community in Brazil also doesn’t from what she’s heard)… does anyone know about this? Also are RCA conversions accepted worldwide or not? Thank you.

Ysabella Hazan - Hasbara Queen

Something is strange about this girl, the overly filtered pics and also her pictures praying at the death site of Nova rubbed me the wrong way (didn’t seem genuine) … always seems more narcisstic and self serving than worried about Israel… everything is a photo op.

Unique Girl Names

What’s the most unique Jewish name you’ve heard for a girl? I see a lot of repeated names that are all beautiful. The most unique one I heard recently is Paz, but I’d like to know more! ❤️

Moving from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv — breaking into tech with a finance background?

My partner and I made Aliyah and have been living in Jerusalem, but we’re seriously considering making the move to Tel Aviv.
I’d really love advice from people who live there, especially other olim. Career-wise, I’m interested in getting into the tech industry. I have no previous tech experience, but I come from a finance/banking background, so I’m wondering what types of roles might be realistic for someone making that transition and how difficult it is to break into tech in Tel Aviv.
I’d also love advice on neighborhoods for a young couple, rent/apartment hunting, whether Hebrew is essential for finding a good job, making friends/community, and just Tel Aviv life in general. For context my husband and I are in our early thirties we also prefer an area that’s less English my husband is already Israeli and he wants me to get my Hebrew on track! Thank you. 🙏

Overwhelmed - Starting my Weight Loss Journey

35F, 5’5”, 160 lbs — feeling stuck and really need help figuring out where to start
Hi everyone! I’m 35F, 5’5” and currently around 160 lbs. Before a nearly fatal car accident that seriously affected my activity level, I was around 130 lbs. My first goal is to get back to 130, and eventually I’d love to reach around 120 if that’s healthy and sustainable for me.
I’m honestly feeling overwhelmed because I really want to make changes, but I don’t know where I’m going wrong.
Breakfast is probably the easiest part because I’m picky and don’t like many breakfast foods. I consistently have 3 XL eggs with about 2 tsp cottage cheese, 2 slices of bakery sourdough, and one coffee with milk and sugar. I know the coffee adds calories, but it’s literally my one coffee a day and I’m having a really hard time giving it up.
Dinner is where I struggle the most. I never know what to make, and I’m also having trouble consistently getting enough protein, drinking enough water, and getting enough sleep. I don’t want to do anything extreme or something I’ll quit after two weeks. I just really need some direction on what changes would actually make the biggest difference and some simple dinner ideas I could eat regularly. I also want to emphasize that I can’t afford or live close to a gym at the moment but I’m trying to hit my 10K steps a day and throw in at home YouTube exercises (if you can recommend any good ones pls lmk) For anyone who started out feeling this overwhelmed, what helped you get into a routine?

Morning Tefilat + Amidah

Hi Everyone! I’m still growing in my spirituality and my connection with Hashem, I’m slowly taking on more and more mitzvots. My Hebrew is pretty solid although some words I still struggle to pronounce. Would like to know from ppl who aren’t FFB how did you learn to read the morning prayers + amidah at a decent speed? I feel like I’m always falling behind at synagogue especially with Amidah they go so fast and I’m not even halfway! 🥹

Daniel Braun & Moshe Shear get off while Shira Braun is punished

There’s something quite sinister about how these guys chilled with Clavicular promoted him heavily, then Daniel Braun offered his sister up to go out with him. Shira takes all the HEAT for the situation these two older men put her in by hanging out with him and vouching for him just for them both to take ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY and continue their BS Hasbara videos.

Shabbat for Meals for two?

Hi to all the moms (and empty nesters!) in this sub. ❤️
I could really use some help. My husband and I are newlyweds, and we recently moved to a new country. Being so far away from my family has made learning all the “homemaking” things a little harder, especially with the big time difference—it isn’t always easy to call my mom for advice. I’m still trying to figure out what a practical Shabbat menu looks like when you’re only cooking for two. Most of what I find online is geared toward large families, but I’d love to hear what those of you with smaller households actually make. One catch: neither of us really likes cholent, so I’m looking for simple ideas for both Friday night dinner and Shabbat lunch that don’t leave us with a mountain of leftovers. If you’re an empty nester or you’re only cooking for two, would you mind sharing what a typical Shabbat menu looks like in your home? Even just hearing what you made last week would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you so much!

Shira Braun grinding with Clav

I’m so dead at Shira Braun (Daniel Brauns sister) being lowkey obsessed with Clav dancing with him and doing yoga when he is a predator…

Thatjewishlatina supporting Clav

This guy literally assaulted a woman on camera and she dares say “Turning darkness into light” between her and Chaya with the regular gas lighting and no lashon hara mental gymnastics … bye 👋

Looking for a TikToker who faked DV

Does anyone remember the viral video it was a black girl being ambiguous about how she got punched in the face (pretending it was DV) but then she came out and said she was jumped in a shower at a club she was working at. She lived in Miami with her ex husband. It made big news but I can’t find it anymore.

Confused by Chabad….

Ok so I have a bone to pick with Chabad. There’s a lot of things I don’t understand about them and I’m trying to understand if I’m just ignorant or what? s

1-Does every Chabadnick believe the Rebbe was the Messiah? Ive heard some do some dont? Whats the truth?
2-Why are there mental gymnastics around asking them if they think the Rebbe was the Messiah
3-Why do they say “we love every Jew” but then harass the F out of you if you don’t come to their next event after coming once
4-Why are they so popular? I’m seeing more and more young ppl joining…
5-If the Rebbes own brother went OTD, then why so much hate towards secular ppl?
6-why do they always label secular ppl as “they just aren’t taught right” … like do ppl not have critical thinking??

Gedale Fenster is on his 2nd Divorce and 3rd mariage/proposal

I’m not trying to do LH but I’m so confused bc his ex-wife and him filmed a podcast and she wrote a book about them ALMOST divorcing and that was last year in 2025 and now he’s already engaged again. Miami moves fast!!! He already had one divorce before his last wife (Elisea) just left him. Wonder what that’s all about…

Why do some people who go OTD eventually return?

I’ve been wondering about something and would love to hear people’s experiences.

I’ve noticed that some people leave Orthodox Judaism because they feel there are unhealthy, controlling, or even cult-like dynamics in certain communities, yet some of those same people eventually return.

For example, I’ve heard stories about people who got involved through kiruv organizations like Aish. One story I heard was about a man who went to Jerusalem intending to “save” his brother because he felt Aish was pulling him into something unhealthy, but he ended up becoming religious himself.

I’ve also heard stories of people who left Chabad or went OTD, only to return years later after meeting someone religious, such as a woman who was converting, and eventually becoming observant again.

What I’m trying to understand is: how does this happen? If someone genuinely believed there were serious problems in the community or ideology and left because of it, what changes later on that makes them return?

I’m genuinely curious and really like to understand the psychology and personal experiences behind people leaving and then coming back.

[TOMT] [Movie] Boxer goes blind after tampered gloves

In the movie the guy goes against a rival who tampers with the gloves before the fight and blinds his rival. Later on the one who is blinded commits suicide. I was sure Max Theriot was in it but it seems I might of mixed him up with someone else.
