Powerful slingshot

I am looking for a powerful slingshot setup with a large pouch capable of shooting marbles long distances. We occasionally encounter aggressive coyotes while walking our dogs, and my goal is simply to raise some dust near them to discourage and harass them—not to injure them.

I'm interested in either a flat-band slingshot or a traditional round-band slingshot. I would need a fairly large pouch to accommodate marbles.

This may be obvious to experienced users, but I don't know much about slingshots, so I would appreciate any recommendations for suitable slingshots, bands, and pouches.

Thank you.

I want to make this: 1 inch thick stock with areas in grey routed out ,1/4 inch wide and 5/8 inch deep. Make from oak = need to do multiple router passes for the depth. I have a built in router and know how to make one routed area but how do I make multiple routed areas to look like this?

Yellow Leaves

I researched this a bit but cannot find a answer I'm comfortable with. I live in Southern California, water with drip, ground moist but not saturater, soil a bit loamy. Any ideas to help with diagnosing ? Thank you.

I occasionally hear thumping from my evaporative cooler. I worry there is a bad belt, lose pulley or something else. I went up this am and checked those issues an all looked normal. When it was turned on, no noise but it's occasional. Any ideas?

New user XARILK Gen3 and I have questions I wished instructions covered.

  1. How much pressure to put on the stones while sharpening?

  2. Do stones need to be cleaned often? How often?

  3. When resharpening do I need to use all grades.

  4. How to place the blade in the exact same position (depth in the holder) when resharpening.

Idea needed. Our dogs was attacked by a coyote this morning. on our walk, she is ok. I need to bring my 22 rifle but don't want to alarm neighbors when I walk through the neighborhood to the field we walk through. How to disguise?

Do you have ideas for carrying the 22 rifle with a shoulder strap on my walk so it can be accessed easily? Thank you.

I want to know if this recipe is close to what you use to make sourdough biscuits.

  • 1 cup sourdough discard (cold is fine)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 6 tbsp cold butter (cubed)
  • ¼–½ cup milk or buttermilk

I don't understand the "Sourdough Discard" thing. I've made sourdough bread for many years but have never had enough "discard" to make anything. Do some people make large amounts of starter to be used as discard in their recipes?

I can't find it. I've gone to liquor stores and a large Asian market an they don't have it. I bought some rice wine for cooking but it tastes horrible. Does anyone know where I can get it and/or is there a good substitute? Sake?
