help! what is this?

hi everyone, i just tanned using bondi sands ultra dark 1hr express, and this is the result (just on my arms!)

i regularly fake tan and routinely exfoliate and moisture, so i dont believe its a skin prep issue?

theres just these white dots all over my arms. ive had this the past three times ive fake tanned but not to this degree

could this just be an issue of me getting unlucky/not exfoliating that particular area well enough? there is a slight off colour tinge so i was thinking perhaps the tan has went bad/off but ive not had it long, and also the rest of my tan on my body is a perfect colour and has no imperfections

ive used this brand before the three times ive had this issue, but aside from those instances i normally get a great tan from it.

if anyone has experienced this/knows how to fix it id love any and all tips! i have plans tomorrow and ideally do not want to be walking around like this in public

tips on flossing with a very small mouth?

after going through some personal stuff and neglecting my dental hygiene, i decided about a month ago to start working on it

ive been flossing (almost) 3x a day everyday, however i cannot for the life of me reach into my back teeth to floss

i have quite a small mouth, so i can really only reach the first 8-10 teeth on the top and bottom of my mouth. ive been very on top of my brushing and make sure to focus on the back teeth that i cant reach

has anyone got any tips? and am i going to see any severe repercussions for not flossing the back teeth? thank you in advance for any advice:)

in a difficult situation

hi all. to summarise my situation right now, i was made redundant at my job two days ago and have £20 to my name. i have bills coming up that i know i wont be able to cover, and im panicking to say the least.

my friend may be able to secure me a job at her workplace, but that wont be til the end of September and im not sure how ill cope till then. i sell on vinted occasionally, but ive quite literally ran out of things to sell, so thats out the question.

if anyone is able to help me financially via paypal i would be extremely grateful.

Alternatively, if anyone could let me know of any side-hustles I could do to make money (in the UK) i would also appreciate it.

an accomplishment!

i just wanted to share a recent accomplishment i gained through yoga :)

i am very very naturally unflexible. i also have quite poor back & neck posture.

i started practicing yoga consistently at a studio around 3 weeks ago, and i already see massive differences! to start, i can finally touch my toes without having to stretch, which is huge for me because before i could barely reach my shins.

my posture has also improved a notable amount, and im also more aware of my posture too. i can hold poses for longer, and most importantly my anxiety has started to improve too.

these may be quite small achievements but ive always been so insecure about my flexibility and posture. thought it would be nice to share a little win! im so glad i discovered yoga .

is it infected?

hi everyone! around 4 days ago i was walking through my garden with sandals on and i think i snapped a twig as i stepped, and the half of the twig went into my ankle. i cleaned it and placed antibacterial cream on it after

it hurt alot, but for the first two days it only really appeared as a scratch with the main point of injury being a small red hole

from about day 2 to present day it seemingly switched overnight and became raised, red painful and with what appears to be a little chunk of wood/splinter inside.

its still quite painful now, even if i lightly brush my ankle next to my duvet it hurts.

my family were telling me it can easily become infected as there couldve been any number of bacteria on the twig, so thats making me anxious. i already have quite alot of medical anxiety, so i cant tell if im being dramatic or not.

im planning to go to the pharmacy eitherway tomorrow, but id be interested to hear anyone else’s opinions on whether or not its infected !

my post-first yoga class thoughts!

this post is especially for those feeling anxious before their first yoga class :)

hi all :) a few days ago i posted on here asking for advice before my first yoga class, i was very nervous and almost didnt go

and, it went great! there were no spaces at the back so i had to practice at the front - which felt incredibly daunting at first but now i feel it maybe benefited me. my instructor was wonderful, and throughout the class i kept thinking just how at peace i felt in my body. the other students were also incredibly welcoming, and i truly got the sense they everyone was focused on their own practice- i never felt like i was being judged or watched!

the poses at times definitely gave me a challenge, but i had most of them down by the end.

i normally practice at home in my tiny box room (no other space) so my yoga can feel quite disrupted and claustrophobic at times. what a wonderful change being in a studio was! i had space to stretch my body out to my desired point without being worried about kicking my tv off the counter haha

when i left the class, i honestly can’t describe just how good i felt both spiritually and physically.

so if ur feeling worried about attending a class, please please please do not let that stop you. you will feel so accomplished and proud after, i can promise you that.

going to my first yoga class?

hi all! ill be going to my first yoga class on monday (vinyasa) and im wondering what to bring?

do i need to bring my mat or is there mats at the studio normally? do i bring my blocks too?

im also slightly nervous in general about it. the class specifies its beginner friendly, but im feeling anxious about falling behind and not knowing the terms/not being able to do the poses.

did a lamination fry my brows?

hi! i had a brow lamination done on the 27th june, and they were great for about 2 days. (first pic is 27th june, last pic is now WITH oil applied) pics arent great, may need to zoom in!

after a day or two my brow hairs started feeling quite dry, and i noticed the hairs were sticking out. i hadnt gotten them wet for 48hrs, nothing that couldve impacted the lamination.

now, its been just a little over a week and its even worse. when i woke up my brows looked incredible thin, dry, we’re sticking out everywhere and felt horrible. i messaged the lady who did my brows and she said to apply an oil to them, which i did. the oil helps, but the hairs still stick out and i feel like shes fried the hairs.

it feels like the lamination effect lasted about 24hrs. after that the hairs became unruly and unmanageable despite brushing. ive had a few laminations before by other people and theyve always been okay.

is this a sign of over-processing and is there anything i can do to rehydrate my brows?

fired during probation

i worked at a childrens stay and play cafe as a barista. small independent company, i really enjoyed the environment there and genuinely thought this could be it long term.

heres the thing. I’ve worked there just over 5 weeks, 7 shifts in total, and ive just been fired. the reasons given to me were that I wasnt picking up things quick enough and that i seemed “unfocused”.

my shift lead was aware that i didnt have much experience in coffee, i know how to pull a shot and i can make a good latte milk, but everything else im pretty rusty on. i was told this wouldnt be an issue as “full training will be provided”. every shift i had i was asking my shift lead tips on how to improve my milk as well as generally asking how to make the drinks, and she told me she was too busy. so every shift i was basically on the till, occasionally making an iced coffee as thats one of the things i already knew how to do. as for being “unfocused”, im quite confused. i’d been proactive in everything i was doing at work, although i do suffer with extreme anxiety so im aware sometimes i can perhaps underperform.

from the message the owner sent me regarding my employment, it seems like she expects me to know everything after less than 10 shifts which seems insane. especially considering each one of those shifts were less than 6hrs long, and without the promised “full training”.

all in all, it sucks. ive never been let go from a job before, especially not in the probationary period. the job market in the UK rn is so ass right now and i was lucky to even find this job, which is why i feel so disheartened.

i was already going through a rough patch with my mental health before this job, and now i feel even worse. i do also have suspected autism too (process of getting diagnosed) so i feel like thats probably added to it too. i dont feel like i was a great fit there due to the possible autism, and it felt like no one liked me there either.

i know better things are coming, but god this is awful.

whats the best plan of action here?

ive always been super insecure of how recessed my chin/jaw is, partly due to my overbite, and im looking to fix it

i have 2ml of chin filler which helped massively, but i feel my overall side profile still looks very recessed.

whats the best treatment? im leaning more towards a chin implant as it seems less invasive than genioplasty, but im interested in hearing other opinions!

im just really desperate to fix it, its slightly unrealistic for me to want a completely straight profile but i want to improve it a little

▲ 3 r/tattoo

i reached out to a new studio two days ago (friday) to enquire about a tattoo. that same day, they offered me an appointment slot for tuesday, which is in 1 day pretty much. I messaged back confirming that i could do that time.

they read the message but havent replied in two days. i know my appointment isnt officially confirmed as i havent paid deposit, so should i call them/message again?

please note i am autistic! so i sometimes struggle to identify social etiquette and im not quite sure if me double calling/messaging them is rude? i know tattoo artists are very busy but as the appointment i was offered is in a day, im not sure what to do here

this isnt my first tattoo, at the regular studio i used to get tattooed at they were quick to reply so ive never had to navigate this before!
