A list of unique benefits in SSC CGL posts

I tried to make a list of unique benefits offered in certain posts in SSC CGL. Feel free to chip in if I've missed something.

  1. The Special Security Allowance (SSA).  20% of Basic Pay. Available in SI (CBI), AEO (ED) and ASO (IB).

  2. Chances of foreign posting with foreign posting allowance. Between (2k-4k USD). Available in ASO (MEA).

  3. Canteen Card for the CSD (Canteen Stores Department). Allows you to purchase consumer goods at discounted, tax-exempt rates compared to the regular retail market. It has Monthly/Annual Limits and Liquor Restriction (not allowed). Available in ASO (AFHQ).

  4. Railway Pass and PTO Entitlements. Privilege Passes and Privilege Ticket Orders. You get free or highly subsidized travel. Available in ASO (Railways).

Pluxee card query for FRESH

Can anybody confirm if it is possible to use Pluxee meal card to purchase products on Amazon Fresh?

As per my employer, this card is available for grocery purchase. I already use it on Big basket, but I can't add it on Amazon Fresh and customer support has been absolutely useless.

Memories of Rajasthan

In 1974, filmmaker Satyajit Ray directed a film adaption of his own book Sonar Kella (The Golden Fortress) with much of the plot being centered in Rajasthan. He picked a certain folk song to be featured in the movie.

For a lot of Bengalis, this movie was their first exposure to Rajasthan while growing up, and this song has become a part of all the nostalgic memories we have of the genius of Ray and his filmmaking.

Assam state museum surprised me

I recently went to Guwahati for work, and spent a weekend exploring the city.

I found the regular tourist attractions to be quite pleasant. However, the state museum near Dighali Pukhuri blew my mind. I really did not expect such an extensive collection of history, culture and art (excuse my ignorance). The collection here rivalled the Kolkata museum.

Since coming back home, I've been gushing about the museum in my circles and hopefully this place gets more recognition in the future.
