docs.google.comMac vs Windows for finance?
I’m planning to buy a laptop and I’m confused between a MacBook Air and Windows.
I’m a finance student and want something that will work well not just for college, but also for areas like IB, equity research, valuation, financial modelling, etc.
My priorities are:
- Portability
- Good battery life
- Good build/keyboard
- Smooth Excel + PowerPoint + finance-related software
- Suitable for professional finance use
4–5 year usability
Budget: around ₹1.3 lakh
I initially leaned towards the MacBook Air because of its portability and battery life, but I’ve read that Windows is generally more common in finance due to Excel and certain add-ins/software.
Would you recommend a MacBook or Windows for my use case? If Windows, please suggest specific models around ₹1.3L rather than just saying Windows is better.

Also, if you work in finance and use a MacBook, would love to hear about your experience
Thanks a ton!

“The Eye of Sauron the Terrible few could endure”
Is there some way I can watch this Tulu movie called “Barsa”
I stay in Mumbai, and today while I was reminiscing about my time in Mangalore I couldn’t help but think about the time my cousins and I watched this newly-released Tulu movie called Barsa, one lazy afternoon.
It was my first Tulu movie and its very dear to my heart taking in account the company, the time and how funny I found it back then (2019 I suppose). I rewatched the movie some 3 years back on youtube, but now it’s nowhere to be found.
Apparently, its on Jiohotstar but I am not able to play it for some reason. Can’t even find it on youtube. I’d be grateful if y’all could guide me, it’d be like a stroll past memory lane for me.
Thanks
I love how Smaug brings questions of logistics and supply chain into the equation
For all his malice and greed, he really did seem client-oriented. He could’ve made it big in corporate lol

“I don’t know if it has occurred to you that, even if you could steal the gold bit by bit—a matter of a hundred years or so—you could not get it very far? Not much use on the mountain-side? Not much use in the forest? Bless me! Had you never thought of the catch? A fourteenth share, I suppose, or something like it, those were the terms, eh? But what about delivery? What about cartage? What about armed guards and tolls?”
Going to Kalsubai on a weekday
Hi,
One of my friends and I will be going to Kalsubai on a weekday. We both are 20M. I have good trekking experience. Chose a weekday considering the crowd influx on a weekend.
I had a few questions.
- When should we start the trek from Bari if we want to catch the sunrise?
- What are the travel options from Kasara to Bari?
- Bus timings from Kasara to Bari if anyone knows would be great information?
- What are the essentials we should carry?
- Any other information we should know?
Thanks a lot!
Caught a breathtaking sunset near Lonavala, India [OC]
The cameraman zoomed in on this peak during the recent RCBvPBKS match in Dharamshala, could someone identify it?
It looks absolutely majestic, like an ancient elder watching over Dharamshala
hi all! context: I've been trying to plan a trip to Madurai for a while now and asked literally everyone I know if they'd come along. one friend has exams, another has family stuff, one just flaked. etc etc
so at this point I've decided I just have to man up and go alone lol. honestly a little nervous. first solo trip ever and I figured if I'm doing it, might as well make it count.
I'm 20, from Mumbai, coming in on a train and planning to spend around 4-5 days. the temples are obviously the main reason I'm going, something about South Indian temple towns just pulled me in and I couldn't explain it even if I tried. beyond that I want to eat well, walk around the old city, and just soak it in without any agenda.
would love some help on a few things:
• best budget place to stay near the main temples? homestay, hostel, anything really.. does madurai have popular hostel chains like zostel and hostellers.
• where do actual locals eat? I want the real banana leaf experience, not the usual tourist traps
• most rustable and reliable scooty rentals?
• temple etiquette I should know before showing up clueless
• anything off the beaten path around madurai maybe the outskirts?
my DMs are open, would genuinely would love anv connections/ personal advice/ any other solo traveller especially to madurai
thanks a lot!
